The Prince of Lust used to trap his victims within their dreamland by deceiving them and making them believed that they were actually living according to their deepest desires.
Their inability to set their dream apart from reality was what prevented them from waking up from their sleep.
Subconsciously, they did not even want the dream to end. As such, no amount of effort could make them do otherwise and thus leaving themselves under Prince Asmodeus' grace.
The other party would then have all the opportunity he needed to devour the poor soul who happened to fall on his trick.
This in return would not give the soul any chance for receiving an afterlife, not to mention that he or she would also never get reincarnated again.
Contrariwise, the unlucky fellow who happened to end up having his soul trapped in a mirror as soon as he died, could not be said to be entirely at fault in the situation.
