"No. It is not like that, sweetie. I am sorry if a made you feel that way. I did not mean anything ill when I said that."
Aiden hurriedly explained himself as he cupped Nathalia's face with his hands and gave her a peck on the lips to erase her pout.
"It was just that I noticed that you are acting exceptionally clingy tonight. That was why I could not help but wonder what had gotten to you."
Aiden tried his best to give his wife a sound explanation but before the other party could even give him a rebuttal, they heard another loud knocking sound coming from the same door which in return convinced Aiden more than ever that something urgent was really going on and it needed to be taken care off once and for all.
And so without bothering to wait for his wife's response anymore, Aiden made his way towards the door and reached out to its knob to open it.
