Detective Rogers repeated the exact words that the other party said but the voice that he used to say it was laced with both contempt and disbelief. Then he laughed out loud afterward as though that was the dopest thing that he had ever heard of in his entire life.
However, his laughter was missing mirth making it sound more like a laugh of derision instead.
"And you still call yourself a human being???!! Mother!!! How could you do this to me? How could you do this to me and Alyanna?!!! WHY???? Tell me why, mother??!"
Unable to hold back himself anymore, Detective Rogers bombarded his own mother with the questions that had been bugging his mind ever since he learned what the other party had done.
But rather than entertaining her son's emotional outbursts, Mrs. Rogers only pretended that she did not hear him at all and instead, talked directly to the officer in charge.
