It was not because he did not have the answer to the other party's question but it was only that it was not like he could just go ahead and tell him that he was seeing Alyanna's ghost wearing the sweater right at that very moment.
He bet that the other party would not believe him anyway even if he used honest words with him. But good thing that his wife was wise enough to think of a straight-up lie on the spot to back him up.
"He saw it on a picture. Our client showed us the last picture that she took with her daughter the day before she went missing. She was wearing the same sweater back then."
