Chapter 1 - Punk Genre

Henry Farquhar, creator of the sub-genres "Martialpunk," "Mar-Scipunk," and Bellum Sacrumpunk

What is Martial, Mar-Sci, and Bellum Sacrumpunk?

Martialpunk is a sub-genre of Historical-Military-Fantasy with Sci-Fi and Horror themes.

Martial stands for martialism, such as; war and martial arts.

The main focus rests upon various historical armies living in the same time-period with aliens, and the undead/demons included.

An example from my book "Deadliest Warrior" is the armies such as; Roman, Samurai, Viking, Knights, Chinese & Scottish Highlanders living, and, or at war among themselves.

Furthermore, each army includes troops covering various dynasties; for example, the Chinese have soldiers from the Ming dynasty as well as the Han Dynasty, etc. Plus, the Highland clans include British Red Coats, either combined or as a separate fraction.

The main rule is that the armies can not include technology surpassing the Napoleonic period, so no automatic weaponry, etc. Firearms can only hold a single bolt shoot, such as; Muskets and Flicklocks.

However, the aliens can interact though can not give a technological advantage to one side, unless giving each fraction. The main advantage is to include is Steampunk; societies can consist of steam-powered machines such as; Mechs and Blimps though the general idea is not to introduce tech, focusing wholly on real-life historical weaponry.

Also added are hellish creatures such as; zombies and demons. The idea of horrific monsters is to harness the various fractions and are usually introduced by aliens as a means to force humans to battle one another otherwise be attacked by demonic beings.

What is Mar-Scipunk?

Mar-Scipunk is a sub-genre of Science-Fiction, Military, and Horror.

Mar stands for martialism, and Sci means Sci-Fi.

Mar-Scipunk follows the same rules as Martialpunk with the main exception that the Martialpunk societies are based in the future.

Fractions will keep their style, although the weaponry is future-based, such as; laser, automatic weapons, and tanks. It also means that societies are capable of space travel.

The focus is that armies will appear historical, although they use futuristic weapons. A Knight will still look like a Knight and carry a sword; however, his armor may be power armor; his sword an energy sword, and he uses an assault rifle or similar. A Samurai will remain styled as a Samurai though he may be carrying a machine gun, and so on for each fraction, etc.

Also, fractions can have access to alien technology. The undead and demonic forces also have access to advanced tech.

Usually, Mar-Scipunk can span from one world to across Galaxies, multi-verses, Heaven and Hell, etc.

What is Bellum Sacrumpunk?

Bellum sacrumpunk is a sub-genre of Spiritual and War.

Bellum Sacrum means holy war.

The focus rests on holy wars spanning across two or more faiths. It can include various denominations at war, such as; Protestant versus Catholic, or two different religions such as; Taoism against Buddhism.

Bellum sacrumpunk can also include genres such as Sci-Fi, Historical-Fantasy, and Horror. For example, armies can be futuristic and include aliens and monsters, etc.

In particular, the primary idea is that Christianity has spread throughout the Galaxy, as the primary and dominating one-true-faith. Furthermore, the joint forces of Christ, such as; aliens, even AI robots are Christians.

Added further, Protestant and Catholic are generally seen as a united Christianity, with the new Church name Magista Vatica.

The fundamental idea is ultimately good versus evil; Christians forces against the Legion of Hells. Other religions can be included in various capacities
