Claire's face seems to shine with excitement as they near her place. "The last time I was here feels like a lifetime ago," she says. "I can't believe I'm back."
"I can't believe I'm meeting your parents," he says. "Are we there yet?"
She points her hand at something ahead of them. "Look, that's our driveway. Over there, with a 'welcome' arch, see?"
Gabriel squints. It's hard to see in the darkness. What time is it now? Must be near midnight. But yeah, there seems to be a white-washed arch at the far end of the road they're treading now. If anything, it's the only thing here that isn't an expanse of trees.
The chauffeur keeps glancing at them in the rearview window, looking increasingly nervous. "Uhh, Sir, I think she's right. It looks like we've reached the end of the world here."
