The night air was cool and crisp as Hawk and Simione left Madam Ning's restaurant, their spirits high from a very good meal and a very worthwhile evening. They strolled hand in hand down the moonlit beach as their laughter mingled with the gentle wave's laps at the shore. The couple took their time as it had been a while already that they had time to go out.
Soon they rode home but their conversation continued. In fact, when they reached the chateau, they were all smiles and had been silently teasing and playfully touching each other. The anticipation of a long, intimate night together was running wildly in their minds.
However, as they approached the grand entrance of their home, they were met with a flurry of activity. Staff members rushed past them with worried expressions, and the usual calm atmosphere of the chateau was replaced by an urgent, almost frantic energy. Simione's heart sank as she noticed the commotion.
