Backstory:
Amari Aradia, daughter of Elkin Aradia was raised in a relatively peaceful household with the rest of her family. Her mother and father had been a part of the great purge with many other demi-humans, traveling the lands before finally settling down near the border between Aloysius and Feinoma.
"Mother, what is it like outside of the village?" Amari went to her mother by the line of clothing, the wind blowing peacefully as she put up washing. "Oh, it's very nice, different towns and many more nice people to see." Amari was an innocent little girl, having been born decades after the purging.
"When will I be able to leave? I really wanna go see the world..." Her mother chuckled a bit before going to rub her daughter on the head. She was just a child dreaming big, and her mother knew this, maybe she would let her daughter venture out one day. But for now, she needs to learn the essential parts of living and maybe staying by her side for another few years. It's hard for a mother to let their child go so easily.
"Don't worry about adventures just yet Amari, you still have to finish doing the washing~" She pouted with her arms crossed, unhappy with her answer, before moving to grab one of the pieces of cloth. A soft chuckle could be heard from Amari's mother as she went to pick up their washing basket.
"When I become an adventurer I wanna wear a coat just like this mother, makes me look mysterious! Like what's behind the cloak perhaps, something mischievous-" Her mum quickly turned in a blushed expression
"H-hiding something!?" Amari looked back in confusion, before resuming her wish-list "Yeah! Like a sword or knife, I can be brave, just like you!" Her mother sighed, knowing it wasn't anything more ludicrous for a girl her age. It would take years before Amari would be fully-prepared to leave her home, maybe even joining a party and venturing out to other parts of Aloysius.
Her mother pondered how her adventures might be less exciting, especially since things have been peaceful these past few decades. Fortunately for her and the rest of their village, this dream of Amari's would come true. Eyes from afar watched the village closely, observing how the townspeople acted during day and night.
Amari would get the wish she's wanted.
But it'll begin in one of the worst ways possible.
....
Amari was rushing back to her house, coming back with friends as smoke began to engulf her village. She found that many on horseback and attacked her home, killing any adults and taking the children.
"I have to find mama... I HAVE TO FIND-" Her thoughts were interrupted by a huge knock to the back of the head. The last thing she saw before fading into unconsciousness was her mother, sprinting towards her as her eyes drooped closed.
For the next few years she was moved from camp to camp, being offered to many, but never being bought. Being fed the worst of grub, and if you didn't comply or obey anything they said, instant punishment with no questions asked. It was Hell on Earth for her and many other children who were sent from the village.
What no one seemed to like about Amari was a certain scar on the back of her head, one soon to be discovered by many buyers as they checked every bit of her body. It was very disgusting to look at, one that would cost a fortune to heal due to its infection spreading, and that's not what they wanted. They didn't want to spend more coins on what essentially was a sick slave.
A slave mark was put on her chest, one many had to bear, a crest of the moon etched into her very flesh, covered in magic paint. Though it could be easily removed by mages and the right potions, more slave-owners are picky in their decisions. Therefore, they would not need to remove one for a slave they certainty prefer. Although if the need ever came, they could always go back to the slave trader they got it from, and return it.
One night, a huge burst of energy split across the skies, as the camp she was staying in took the full-brunt of the impact. Many tents and cages had broken open due to the amount of force, and Amari saw her chance. Close to tears, she ran as far away as she could, away from the mansion and into the break of dawn.
Running long enough that her legs could barely take another step, she collapsed in an unknown forest. Exhausted, but unwilling to stop running, Amari began to pick herself up. That was when she saw two stars in the sky, heading straight towards an open field nearby...
