The three of them nodded again because what they said was true. Chris was handsome and very loyal. Rachel won the lottery when husbands were concerned. Kate was engaged. Macy was still in a complicated relationship. And Jess who was the oldest in the group was reclined to live an old maid's life. 32 was already too late for marriage.
The four of them walked their way to their campuses. They greeted the guard, which was their friend. Thanking him for letting them get home in tact last night with Jess as their baby sitter. Macy and Kate said their goodbyes. Rachel and Jess went ahead to the elementary campus. Her brother was already there waiting for them.
There was still an hour left before the PTA starts. Jess went to her table, slumping on it with coffee in hand. Her headache was still there.
