Chapter 1 - What prom and what dress? (Day 1)

Say, people ain't really rich and don't have spectacular life so why is it that life is hard to accept?

I had lots of fake friends but they say 'past is past' or 'let the bygones be bygones'.

Ever since I was a child believing in magic and magical life was common, but of course because of this teasing and bullying was also repeated.

People called me childish and kept on saying 'this is only in fairy tales' but such words didn't really stop me at all. Everyone knows magic is fake but why not truly believe in it even knowing it is fake and not real at all. I won't change my mind for sure. I've been always active and had my big eyes opened. You wanna know why?

To see if there is anything extraordinary going on in our pure blue mesmerizing planet Earth!

I woke up with a wonderful dream as usual. It was again dreams with many other dreams. Premonition or previous life- only God knows. When I woke up and got ready I headed off to the bus stop. I saw my friends waiting patiently for my arrival but somehow there was something off about them (wonder what!?)

"YO!" I said.

All of them replied "OMG HII!!"

"Did u hear about the news!?" said James

"What news?" I replied

"THERE IS GOING TO BE A PROM FESTIVAL" everyone replied

"When" I asked.

"4 WEEKS LATER!!!" replied everyone

With a smirk and mundane face I really couldn't believe it. At first it sounded awesome but when my friends told me that it's a girls asking boys, I went "HELL NAHH!!"

My mind went blank as to why GIRLS have to take initiative rather than BOYS! Especially for someone like me who is brave but not brave enough to confess feelings such as 'love'. There is this guy which I adore so much and his name is Luke. Sounds dreamy right? He is an extremely honest and a kind person but can be rude most of the times. I cannot ask him to be my prom date since is obvious that I do not know him and I mean NOT at ALL! By this I mean to say that I am not his friend. Even though he's in most of my classes. He never talked to me ever since I joined high school so you could say he thinks of me as a stranger. He talks to everyone but not me. Well, I wasn't planning on asking him either way.

As I walked through the school gates, I could see many people waving and greeting me. The days never change. Same as ever. Lessons, lessons and lessons! But of course I know is for our own good. Education is what matters in life and without such things, jobs and money will be inaccessible. For money and better life, I will try my hardest to focus even though at times I get extremely bored and don't understand any crap coming from the teachers and subject itself. After all, everyone has a subject which they are weak at, right?

After school, despite me not wanting to go shopping with my friends, I was forced to go where it was a matter of time that they would drag me with them. I didn't want to go prom in the first place but of course 'some friends of mine' kept moaning, groaning and begging their lives like I'm some sort of buddha at the gates. Whether I had a partner or decided not to ask my partner, none of that mattered to them at all. Which is why, they took the liberty to force me to shop with them.

While they were shopping for clothes, all I felt was extreme boredom. It was the worst feeling as the smell of the ugly dresses totally ruined my mood. In addition, the things they choose are totally not they're type. It would make them look either slutty or too plain. Since I am the only one in the group with an eye for fashion, I decided to pick three dresses for my friends- Johana, Fatima and Serena. They are lovely girls but really annoying at times. Johana is from Spain, Fatima is from Portugal meanwhile Serena like me is from Italy.

The dress I chose for Johana had a combination of black and white with yellow which looked perfect for her. For Fatima I picked something really cool and more awesome then the others. Navy-blue and golden-rosie was all over the dress. This totally suited her character and her style. Lastly, since Serena likes yellow and orange, I tried to search for something adequate for her where I found a dress which had yellow and orange in it with some pinkish too. Therefore, this was the best option for her, especially because it reflected her serenity and innocence. After picking those dresses, as famished I was, we went to eat food and desserts around 4pm (afternoon). It took us kind of long to eat since we were talking, taking pictures, making funny videos and gossiping!

When we finished eating, I thought we were going back home, however, that was my mistake. I wasn't permitted to depart from these little monkeys as they wouldn't allow me to go back unless I buy a dress myself.

Rudely, I refused.

"We won't let you leave since you came with us, so get ready, princess" said Serena.

My nerves started hitting the limit and so I felt like going irrational and crazy.

"Firstly I was forced to go with you lot! Secondly, the fashion choices you guys have are utterly ridiculous" I finally replied by trying to keep an angry tone, however it didn't work.

For 5 minutes, all of us were fake arguing where it truly looked embarrassing because we were right around the mall when screaming and talking rubbish. Anyway, I finally surrendered and agreed. After all, what were the choices?

We went inside lots of shops, but there was no dresses that I liked. However, after some time I finally found a perfect dress for me. Finally indeed as it was the 11th attempt to find a dress which suited me in each shops across the area.

My friends couldn't wait to see me in that dress and nor could I. So, after trying the dress on, I got out and saw myself in the mirror and all I could say was that it looked gorgeous and it fitted me so well! My dress had a mixture of gold and pink. Moreover there was also some aqua strips on the dress. A beautiful combination indeed and not only the colours, but designs and patterns inflicted in this dress is beyond human knowledge. It just didn't look right to me. At least not Earthly. I could feel my body being transported to another world like a whole different dimension.

Captivating. One after another, people who were in that shop started complimenting me, out of nowhere and it was a very embarrassing situation yet still a funny one. It was actually impressing how we managed to find this dress. Such a thing was never seen before and who ever made this, deserves a medal. No a trophy! No, deserves to be famous and rich! It could captivate people with the desire to never let go of that dress once put on.

Just when my friends were about to force me to buy the dress-

"Omg! This is the first time that this dress has ever fitted someone!!" said the shop owner.

Out of interest, Johana asked "What do you mean by that?"

"Who ever tried this dress on never got the chance to fit in. However she's the only girl amongst the rest who managed to fit in the dress." the man replied.

"Ohhh!" exclaimed everyone.

"This dress was brought here from an unknown place. To be more precise, it was a lady who gave this to us." said the man in a passion.

"How come our friend could fit in?" asked Serena.

"Who knows, maybe she's the fated one" he said, adding "the lady's message was:

'which ever girl can wear this dress, the time has arrived. It is upon you to decided between helping or ignoring. Regardless of that, you the girl who the dress set upon, will go through some marvelous things' ".

After he read that message from his mind, he gave me a letter and said that it was only meant for 'me'. Therefore, the shop owner wasn't allowed to read it.

"To the girl who could wear the dress perfectly,

If your reading this then you'll know what the man has said to you. There is one more thing you'll need to know. This dress only allows the girl who has something special, which means you to bond with it. It will be hard to explain by letter, so when you get this, I will probably do something to keep contract with you till than be inquisitive of my appearance and the seek for answers my girl. You'll see me soon enough young fated lady."

All this mystery is making my head question too many things but I guess the good thing is that I'll know the answers when this lady comes to me. If not soon than later. But, one thing does torment me, how will she know that I'm' the girl of 'fate' or something? Hasn't it been a year already since she gave the dress to the shop owner?

"Well. thanks for the info, sir" said Fatima

"Your welcome, have a nice day ladies!" said the man.

After that awkward yet nice chit chat, all of us went to a café for desserts and ate ice creams. When we finished eating our ice creams we went home.

At home I tried on the dress that I brought and showed it to my parents. They loved the dress I picked where my mum said not to take it off because she was going to show this dress to her 2 sisters of hers. She's very extra! Making the two sisters jealous of my beauty is truly childish. She even took lots of pictures of me where my dad joined mum as well!
