Rosa and Senator Graysen take a leisure walk with Athena until their feet lead them to a mini-farm. They spot Dr. Jerryl Sofer stands from a bush of greenery covering her. She holds a shovel in one hand and a pail containing other planting tools with her other hand.
The doctor lowers her body and gets lost again in the lush bush. As they come near her, they see her clipping some of the dried leaves oblivious of their arrival. She lifts her face when she notices three long shadows over her. Her eyes meet Athena's gaze.
"Hi, Athena. Do you want to help me out?"
She hands the small watering can lying near her feet to Athena. The doctor waits for a while until Athena timidly accepted it. Dr. Sofer tells her to sprinkle the water on the plants near her. Athena's lips lift a bit and her eyes sparkle.
She follows the doctor to water the other rows of plants.
Senator Graysen and Rosa watch Athena as she sprinkles water on the vegetables. The couple has a wide smile on their face knowing Athena enjoys her small task.
Dr. Jerryl asks Athena when they get back, "Do you want to help me again tomorrow morning?"
The little girl nods.
The next morning Athena wakes up early. She sits still eagerly waiting for Dr. Sofer to knock on the door.
Dr. Jerryl brings the little girl to her mini-farm again. She talks casually with Athena as she tends to the plants while Athena holds the watering can ready to sprinkle it whenever the doctor tells her.
Dr. Jerryl starts asking Athena. "I heard you are good at firing. Can you show me how you fired the gun at those men in the room to save your Mama Rosa?"
"I know how to use guns so I took the gun on the table and fire at them to help Mama Rosa." She extends her arms and clutches her fingers as if she is holding a gun. "Bang."
"Why did you think of firing at those guys?" Dr. Sofer discreetly observes Athena checking her reaction.
Anger registers in the eyes of Athena. She tightly clenches the watering can. "They were noisy. They laughed at Mama Rosa. Mama Rosa kicked one of them. One of them pulled Mama Rosa's legs while she tried to kick them again. I want to help Mama Rosa. I don't like Mama Rosa to get hurt."
"Are you not afraid of blood?"
Athena's nose scrunches. "It's gross. Smells awful."
Dr. Sofer asks again, "Do you think is it good or bad to fire a gun at people?"
"They were bad. I only help my Mama Rosa."
"Would you fire a gun again at people?"
The surrounding becomes silent for a minute. Dr. Sofer patiently waits for Athena's answer. "If they hurt my Mama Rosa, my Papa, my Nana Amor, my grandma, and my grandpa."
Dr. Sofer blinks her eyes trying to analyze Athena's statement. She lets out a deep sigh.
