Chapter 10 - The Proposal

Both of Graysen's assistants arrive each holding a small plate of strawberry sans rival.

Graysen stands up and puts the plate in front of Rosa and the other one on his side. Then the two men take their exit soundlessly.

"Isn't it great? My guess is spot-on." Rosa initially tasted the dessert commenting, "Oh, this is good. Send my compliment to whoever made this."

Graysen just smiles watching her eat the dessert.

She puns, "Do they happen to have an extra box of this?"

Graysen never takes his eyes on Rosa.

She just keeps on eating. Then her teaspoon hit on a solid object in the middle of the frosting. She poke it and lift it with her teaspoon to inspect it.

Graysen takes her teaspoon.

"Hey that's mine!" She complains.

Graysen picks the object with his table napkin and wipes it.

He moves towards her side and kneels.

Rosa is taken aback from seeing Graysen kneeling in front of her. She remains dumbfounded.

Graysen states, "I am not too young anymore so let us just hasten this. I do not have time for steady-dating for prolong period just to make sure that that person is the right one. I just know that I like you. And I like you enough to settle down with you. Will you marry me?"

Rosa stays tongue-tied not batting an eyelid.

He holds both of her hand together and gazes into Rosa's eyes proclaiming, "I love you. Will you be my wife?"

Her eyes then flutters. She looks around, looks back at Graysen, looks down at her feet, nods, then she replies, "Ok."

Graysen puts the ring on her and stands. He holds on to her shoulder and raises her to stand. He happily embrace her. "Any answer will do as long as you agree."

The two assistants secretly take videos and pictures from the side.

With her eyes gleaming, Rosa nudges Graysen to return to their seats. She says, "Can we finish the dessert first?"

Graysen gets disconcerted. "Am I not good enough to be your husband?"

"You are overly enough," she declares.

"Then why I think the dessert is more significant than me right now?"

"It's going to get mushy if we did not consume it soon," she reasons.

"You're going to have it anytime you want it as long as you have me," he affirms.

"Really?" Rosa reacts wide-eyed.

He reaffirms, "Of course, I'm the one who made it for you."

After dinner they stride leisurely holding hands around the fields while the assistants covertly follow them taking videos and pictures.

Graysen breaks the silence, "We have to pay your parents a visit and tell them about us."

"Don't divulge our engagement to anyone for the moment," she cautions.

He feels a headache coming to him. "I don't think that's possible."

"Why?" she asks.

"Brie and Madam Desta knew that I am going to propose to you."

She looks grimly at Graysen.

"I have to get hold of your schedule," he explains.

Rosa smiles, "Alright."

She concludes, "I'll just call both of them not to get ahead of us. I do not want to give my father a heart attack."

As soon as they board the car going back to the city, Graysen puts a box on Rosa's lap. She peeks on the box. She moves closer to Graysen and gives him a peck on the cheek suddenly.

With a bright smile on her face she says, "Thank you hubby."

She leans her head on Graysen's shoulder while holding the box of strawberry sans rival.
