The pain was too real. Her entire body trembled in pain as if it was run over by a truck. There was not even one place left enough in her body that didn't hurt.
"Acck...mm…" groans came out of her mouth as she recovered from her lightheadedness. Yu Li had no idea what transpired after she saw the flashing Golden light coming out of the book.
Truthfully, it was all too sudden for her to understand anything but it must have been bad to hurt herself badly like this; she was mostly worried about her friend Song Hua who gets scared easily.
Where was she? Did the light hurt her? There was no sound of crying and whimpering. Yu Li was not sure about her condition thus could only pray for her frail friend.
Just then she heard a pleading voice asking her to wake up, "Wangye! Get up. You must hang on, this servant will protect you. You are the only hope of our Jing Nuo kingdom."
Jing Nuo kingdom!
Wangye!
What place was this? She had never heard of this name in her life and what did the man mean by calling her, a girl… wangye.
She was a girl. How can anyone call her wangye?
Yu Li gathered herself together as she opened her heavy eyes to see her surroundings and look at the man who was shouting in her ears.
"Wangye! Please listen to me, this servant will hand you over to your sister and you should follow her advice. Don't fight her. Both your mother and father are not here anymore to give in to your desire. You should grow up and strengthen your relationship with your sister. This is your only choice." The old man repeatedly warned her as he was not sure whether she heard him or not. "I know it is difficult for you to see eye to eye to your siblings but you must endure and avenge this hatred. You can't let those preparators go and live happily after killing your parents."
Yu Li wanted to tell him to keep his mouth shut, for she wanted to relax her brain which was buzzing from his constant reminders but only moans came out from her mouth. "Mmm...aa...shh-uu-t...u..pp."
The man was stiff for a second after listening to her words before he revived his normal vigilance and tightened his hold around her. He was aware that all of these problems were a bit too much for a six-year-old Prince but he had no choice but to tell her everything before his death.
The old eunuch was also suffering from the poisoning outbreak as he had protected the prince from those intruders that just wanted the treasure hidden in the Jing Nuo kingdom. He was the trusted subordinate of the last king who died saving his queen. His last wish was to protect his children and let them grow safely.
The old eunuch was not left with much time as he repeatedly warned the little prince to get along with his two elder sisters. He didn't know why the prince hated his two elder sisters that treasured him.
"This servant only wishes for your well being, your highness." A lone tear escaped out of his eyes as he ran faster near the outer border of the Jing Nuo kingdom.
Yu Li heard everything clearly and despite hating the fact that strange old man was advising her she remained silent.
She could feel his sincere care and love for her. Yu Li didn't have the heart to crush the dying man's hope moreover he was concerned about her safety.
From her past experience of reading fantasy novels, Yu Li good determined that she had successfully transmigrated into a foreign world where apparently she was a prince.
Prince!
She was clearly a girl but was treated as a boy.
Yu Li was awake now and could see her surroundings clearly. She was in the embrace of the old man who was carefully and protectively handling her body despite his old and weak body and running towards God knows where. She was silent as she allowed him to express his emotions. She was not a cold-hearted person who could not differentiate between care and flaunting.
The old eunuch saw the prince in his arms was awake. "Your highness, I am glad that you are fine. I will soon drop you to your sister." As he finished his words, blood came out of his body, he could not handle the flare of poison as his leg succumbed and he fell down on his knees.
There was no one in sight but the old eunuch was still attentive as ever for the sake of the young prince.
"Promise me, Your Highness, you will look after yourself." He implored as his arms dropped low and the young Yu Li fell down on the ground.
She stiffly nodded nevertheless with seriousness. "I promise I will take care of myself."
"Good! It's good. I am relieved." The old eunuch sighed as he took his last breath and fell into eternal sleep.
Yu Li's eyes teared up as she saw the fallen man on the dirty ground. This man was honestly looking after her even at the expense of his life. She was honored to accept his care on behalf of this body's owner.
What led to the death of this prince's parents? Who was after her life? What was the thing that caused this massacre?
Yu Li had no answers.
Where was Song Hua? The light covered both of their bodies so does that mean she was also like her, transmigrated inside someone's body or she was the only one who was bound in this place.
Yu Li grimaced at so many questions but not a single answer.
She checked her body to confirm her gender whether she had truly turned into a prince now.
Her life could not be that disastrous, could it be?
"Huh! It's a joke." She touched the flat part of her body where she didn't find any protruding ing much to her relief.
She was still a woman.
Yu Li sighed as she got the hint of her identity, a load of memories came pouring in her mind giving her the idea of the Imperial Prince Yu Li.
She was the third prince of the kingdom of Jing Nuo, technically she was the princess but due to some problems related to the treasure that directed to today's slaughter her mother decided to hide her true identity. Yu Li's father was the king of Jing Nuo Kingdom whereas her mother was the owner and sect leader of Shen Guo valley, the largest medicine oriented sect and one of the top ten sects in the continent which accepted only women in their ranks.
The attack on the imperial place of Jing Nuo was because of a legend surrounding the kingdom which says that the imperial family of Jing Nuo who is ruling for almost two thousand years has a treasure that could help the cultivators to gain any wishes and only the treasure will only come across the imperial heir.
Ye Yu Li, the third and only son of Ye Yun Tao was the unofficial heir in their eyes, to protect her from them her mother Shen Hui Lin gave her life and her father after making her escape has planned to join her mother in the afterlife.
It was tragic, the place and time both, Yu Li could not handle the pain that came from the last memory of her bloodied parents. They died protecting her.
