Chapter 23 - Runner Zombies & Zombie wolves

~~~~~After the battle~~~~~

"Hey, boss what we going to do next?" Tempest looks towards the wraith knight and asked.

"Hmm, get the skeletons to bring all the corpse down to the second level." as the wraith knight said, the fog in the swamp begin to cleared up and he summoned the missing number of skeletons that were destroyed during the battle.

Tons of dead bodies could be seen litter around the swamp, most of the dead goblins in the swamp had a slit on their neck, causing them to bleed to death without making any sound. Tempest looked at the sight with her mouth wide open, jaws almost dropping as she turns and look at Kuro.

"Meow" as if Kuro is gleeing, it continued to lick it's paws as it looks at Tempest.

Tempest pouted as she begin tasking the skeletons to remove the dead bodies and send it down to the second level for them to turned into their undead allies.

The wraith knight cast a black hole like spell, the black hole begin sucking in something which the duo could not see, after a few seconds, the black hole disappeared.

"Kuro, you did well." the wraith knight came towards the duo.

"Meow", Kuro meowed back as it looks towards Tempest weapon, before turning back to the wraith knight.

"Alright, I'll make something for you." the wraith knight replied.

Hearing what the wraith knight said, Kuro smiled in happiness.

The wraith knight looks towards the flying Gargoyle with the goblin knight in it's claws and said, "Sent that goblin knight down into the jail."

Hearing that command the Gargoyle immediately fly towards the door and headed down into the bowels of the dungeon. While the remaining, two Gargoyles gathered and piled up the body parts of the fallen brethren at the middle of the room before turning back to statues.

"Alright let's head back and do an after action review." the wraith knight said, as he teleported together with the other two back to the dungeon master room.

"Welcome back!" Auriel immediately hugs Tempest when they return to the dungeon master hall. Tempest patted Auriel's head and said, "I'm back!"

"Meow,"Kuro meowed at the side, and Auriel break off from Tempest and picks Kuro up. As she looks towards the wraith knight and said, "Welcom-me backkk."

"I'm back," feeling something was weird at Auriel's way of greeting the ghost realized that he was still in possession of the wraith knight. He immediately unpossesses the wraith knight and tasked it to do some training in the training grounds.

Auriel smiles when she see the ghost separating from the wraith knight. Seeing her smile, the ghost flew over and ruffles her hair.

"Mr. ghost, what are we going to do next?" Tempest asked as she wonder what the after action review is all about.

The ghost immediately opened the layout and he started off the topic by saying, "Alright, the total number of skeletons destroyed during this battle were 2 archers, 1 mage and 2 skeleton warriors for the zombies, only 1 was being killed off. Tempest, could you explain how did they get destroyed?"

"For the archers and mage we were being bombard by throwing spears after we shot the first wave of attacks at the enemies. I think the 2 skeleton warriors are destroyed when they are out harvesting, we didn't have time to pull them back." Tempest replied to the ghost question in seriousness.

Hearing what she said, he immediately added crenellations along the entire ledge.

After he done that, he asked the duo, "you guys have anything you want to add to the defense layout?"

"Meow" as Kuro pointed at a few spots on the layout.

"You want to add some traps around these locations?" the ghost asked Kuro in return.

"Meow" as if agreeing with what he said, the ghost realized what Kuro wanted to do, as one of trapped location is directly on the entrance of the dungeon.

The ghost added a 5m by 5m pressurized pitfall trap that would open up when a certain weight limit is hit, he added a sign to state the amount of weight limit in front of the trap. Next he added some 1m diameter spike traps at the locations that Kuro pointed out, most likely Kuro wanted to use those traps as a kind of escape tactic.

After he was done, the ghost looked at both of them and ask, "anything else you guys want to add?"

"Nope" Tempest reply as the duo shook their heads.

"Alright go rest up, we will need to prepare for the main army that's coming." the ghost said as he updated the current dungeon layout. Next he purchase a few bread & water sets put into the wooden chests and sent it over to the jail where the prisoners are at. After that he switch over to check the skeletons and zombie status.

After evolving the zombie, a notification popped up.

"Mr ghost, the zombies are changing." Auriel who was looking at the zombies in the main hall on the dungeon live broadcast screen suddenly called out to the ghost.

By the time the ghost reach Auriel, the zombies had already evolved, although they didn't seem to change much, their legs became more define and muscular, their arms became longer and thinner, with what looks like small spikes poking through their knees and elbows. The ghost immediately summon the new evolved runner zombies and check their status and his upgraded skill.

After checking, he immediately tasked the runner zombies to burrow around the area after the entrance trap. Next the ghost, task the skeletons to do what they were doing before the goblin cavalry attack. After that, he went to checked on his own status.

"Oh, I can increase my base stats, let's add some to luck then, I can't seem to get any from leveling up."

"Mr ghost, all the dead wolves seems to begin moving." Auriel called out to the ghost excitedly.

The ghost looked up at the screen, these wolves were unlike what they were when they are alive, their eyes have changed to a bright silver color, their body had patches of open and festering wounds all around. Some of them are missing a ear or patches of their fur.

However, when he looks closer there is this one special wolf amongst the group, it didn't have any missing fur or wounds on it's body as if it was never injured, it's eyes were glowing blood red, it's size is slightly larger than the rest of the group and it's fur is of a much darker color. Wondering what it is the ghost opened up the dungeon menu to check the other wolves and that special wolf status.
