Chapter 1 - Birth of the Immortal

"Welcome"

That was the first word I ever heard. I didn't know where it came from nor do I know who said it. I slowly opened my eyes...They were in pain probably because this was the first time I opened them and it was bright, I could barely see anything for a little while until the world became a little more clear by the second.

I was on a altar and there was roof over my head. I looked down at my body covered in white blanked made of cloth. As I moved my body I realized I was a baby. Small and weak arms and a body that I could barley move. I checked what gender I was and soon realized I was a male.

I kept looking at my surroundings. I was in a forest, a pretty dense one and a lake or a stream a few meters the right of me. I was on a small hill overlooking the lake and a small dirt pathway 1-2 meters left of me and a larger hill further left of me beside the dirt trail.

It was a beautiful sight to see. The lake was crystal clear, the weather was sunny and the leaves were green. I looked around the altar. It seemed like the altar was eastern style and was very small. Just big enough to put my small body in.

After I checked my surroundings, I started to think about m...[Where am I? Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I baby? Why don't I remember my past?] all these thoughts flooded into my mind. At that very instant I got a huge headache and cried; like a normal baby should after being born into the world. But no one came, I was alone, in the wilderness. I soon realized that if no one finds me soon I will die. I cried and kept on crying until I fell asleep.

A few hours later I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I could see it was evening time. No one picked me up yet...I was still in the altar. This time I didn't cry out for help. I just patiently waited, I was beside of what it looks to be a dirt road. Someone has to come by at some point. I had to stay calm and collected.

After a few hours I heard voices that were coming closer by the second. It was dark, but if someone was walking by the dirt path they will still see the altar. I got excited, they were clearly human, when they got close enough for me to see I inspected them.

There were two men walking side by side talking to one another with a spear as a weapon in one hand for both of them. They were wearing very primitive clothing, fur from animals they most likely hunted and were not very well dressed. One had short blond hair and looked younger than the other man who had long wavy brown hair.

They were talking to each other in a language I didn't understand at all. Soon after I inspected them, they spotted the altar. They both stared at each other with faces of confusion.

"What the hell is that?"^ said the blond haired man

"What?"^

"That altar over there, we come by this path almost everyday and I never realized it was there before. Have you?"^ as he was pointing at the altar with his index finger.

"Huh? Me neither. What kind of altar is this anyway? Never seen anything like it"^ as they walked closer and closer towards the altar until they stopped right in front of it.

"Wow. Excellent craftsmanship too. The wood is perfectly curved, how is such a thing possible? And the stone is perfectly smooth, no bumps or rough edges. This altar is the literal definition of perfected craftsmanship."^

"Hey, there's a thing inside the alter. It looks like white cloth"^ as the brown haired man came closer to check.

"What the hell?! There's a f***ing baby inside the white blanket! What the hell should we do with it?"^ said the brown haired man in a surprised expression

"Bring it with us obviously, the baby is obviously a gift from god. Why else do you think the baby is here inside a perfect altar?"^

"You actually believe in that crap? Whatever just bring the baby. I'll try to bring the altar with us."^ as instructed the blond man picked up the baby and the brown haired man tried to pick up the altar but to no avail.

"It's no use, it's stuck into the ground. We'll have no way of pulling it out. Just take the baby and let's go back to the village"^

"Wait, Aren't we supposed to hunt today?"^

"Don't worry about it. We have plenty of food, we can hunt tomorrow morning."^ said the brown haired man as he walked back to where they came from. The blond haired man quickly followed the other man as he carried the mysterious baby with him.
