Sophia's POV:
After following the small path cutting through the forest, they came to a huge temple that had no roof.
Sophia and the rest of the noble children were led there by the high priest, Bast. In front of them, there was a staircase of 5 fleets high. Stone pillars were lined up behind the stairs, 20 meters apart from each other. The stone pillars did not support a roof, only the extensive blue sky.
The ground Sophia and co walked on shifted from soil to the feel of stone. Each one was a large stone pavement made from cutting a huge boulder. Between the stone pillars, there were stone statues of all previous as well as current generations of emperors, starting from the first emperor and on. Each and every statue bears the insignia of the empire, a six headed snake with the sun and 5 moons in its mouth, looking over the people who are always looking up at the great serpent.
