Chereads / Kidnapped For the Crown Prince / Chapter 47 - Two Kids and the truth

Chapter 47 - Two Kids and the truth

The next morning, Aiven let me practice for a few minutes.

He seemed to be worried about my reaction yesterday, and he's been watching me since he arrived.

Regin looked a bit relaxed now, unlike yesterday. He's not staring at me for the whole time, he shifts his attention to the other guards and other things now.

Last night, he called for other guards to stay with me while he reports what happened last night in my room, I tried to get some sleep while my mind grew anxious of my father's message.

Regin watches as I try another shot, but his eyes sharpened when Princess Tellusia came with Prince Marin.

The two smiled at me like I'm a close friend, especially Princess Tellusia.

She waved her hand to me, and I noticed that her attendants are carrying her bow and her arrows.

"Good morning," Princess Tellusia smiled at me, "Can I practice with you?"

Prince Marin raised his brows as a greeting, then he looked at Aiven and smiled.

I just nodded and Princess Tellusia immediately raised rocks from the ground as her targets.

Prince Marin sat beside Regin, while Aiven just gestured me to practice.

I wasn't even able to start since I was in awe while watching Princess Tellusia practicing, she was amazing in archery, even when she started moving the rocks, she didn't miss any target.

I just watched beside her in amazement, while holding my bow and arrow.

Why is she even here? We all have private grounds to practice, but why would she want to go here?

"Miss Amelia, why aren't you moving?" Princess Tellusia asked with a smile.

This kid can fool anyone with that smile, but not me.

Regin looked like he's on alert, ready on whatever that may happen. Since he also knows her relationship with the ex-residencia, and how her kingdom handled my attempted kidnapping, no one will be comfortable with her around.

I forced a smile at her, then I aimed for my target, and just like yesterday, I used my power to send the arrow shooting to pass a few trees, which sent Prince Marin and Princess Tellusia in shock.

Then, while I was aiming for the other target, Princess Tellusia sent the ground to move the target sideways.

I didn't look at her, but I know she was smiling at me.

Aiven was standing not far from me, then I remembered what he said. I can experiment with my powers.

Maybe I can send this arrow flying in a different direction other than the spot I am aiming for.

I took a deep breath to try my experiment, and with a little effort, I was right.

The arrow moved farther than my target spot and it landed perfectly in the middle of the moving target. It's still a bull's eye.

I turned my head to the young girl and with a proud smile, I raised my brows at her.

"What did you do?" She asked with a frown, disappointed that I still got to aim perfectly.

"Experiment," I whispered then I aimed for another shot.

I won't let a young girl like her defeat me, even though I know she's good, and so are the others.

The maids prepared us snacks, Aiven and Prince Marin were sitting on both my sides, while I face Princess Tellusia.

She's eating small portions like a doll, while I munch the cake. Practicing made my stomach starve, while she looks as if she's too full to even eat.

But suddenly, she ordered everyone, including my attendants and Regin to move far from us.

Regin was hesitant at first, but I smiled at him to make sure that it's fine and Aiven was with me.

And after they all went away, Princess Tellusia's doll-like smile vanished, then Prince Marin sighed.

I looked at them with confusion, what is happening?

Aiven was just eating, waiting for what may happen, but I know he's wary of the possibilities that Princess Tellusia might cause trouble.

But instead of danger, Princess Tellusia banged the table hard with her hand, making the utensils clatter.

"It was not my fault," she said under her breath while taking a deep sigh, "I didn't want you to get hurt, I promise."

Prince Marin looked at me, then he raised his shoulders, "You heard it, she's not involved in your kidnapping."

"We're not blaming you," I said to Princess Tellusia with a frown, we are not only blaming her but her whole castle, it does include her, but it's not limited to this little girl.

"I know you think we have something to do with that incident, but I'm clean, alright?" Princess Tellusia took a full gulp of her juice.

I am shocked by how she acts right now, as if she's not even royalty, starting with the banging of tables, and now drinking without any class.

But, saying that it's only her who's innocent is troubling.

Aiven turned to her, then asked, "How about your father, the king?"

Princess Tellusia shrugged her shoulders, "I don't know. I'm just telling you, I'm already tired with all the false accusations," she said then she crossed her arms and leaned on the chair.

"Starting from the ex-residencia's gossips, now this," Prince Marin clicked his tongue and shook his head from disappointment, "We have something to do with the potion, but really, we only made a potion for the fruits."

I creased my brow, "What? You're with her when you made the potion?" I asked without thinking that I shouldn't know about that. My face froze with the realization that I just showed her that we know about the gossips, but Princess Tellusia just pouted and shrugged.

"I know you were there with your knight, Amelia. Trees are my ears," she said then she turned to Prince Marin, "I know. I just had to accept their blames and pretend that I killed my maid when in fact, we created a perfect potion for the fruits."

"Yeah," Prince Marin nodded, "We even tested it out, and honestly, the maid wasn't even supposed to drink it."

Aiven was as lost as I am, his brows were furrowed while trying to follow the conversation of the royalties.

"Wait," I put my hand between the two kids and made them stop talking, "You claimed your maid's death, you said you killed her."

Princess Tellusia sighed and rolled her eyes, "I have to. Or else they'll keep blabbering. But I'm telling you, the potion wasn't poisonous and it doesn't cause any disease."

"Sia's right, her father told her to take full responsibility, and look what happened, she was kidnapped and everyone thinks it's her fault," Prince Marin swayed the glass of juice as he watches it twirl, "The suspect here is Sia's father, and their visitor that day when the incident happened to the maid."

"Rin was playing with me, and he can testify to who we saw with my father that day," Princess Tellusia looked at Prince Marin, then she frowned as if she's staring to the only one who believes her, "It was the Alpha King, Sorin, he was the only visitor we have that time."

"Are you telling us that the King was the one who cursed the maid and started the gossip? But why?" Aiven asked while he looked like he's into the conversation as if he's investigating.

Princess Tellusia looked away with a frown, "I don't know why. But if you don't believe me, then it's fine," she forced a smile then she looked at Prince Marin, "At least I have Rin with me here. We just thought maybe Amelia can help us since you're connected to the Fevier family, you're royalty in the Alpha Kingdom, aren't you?"

Aiven turned his head towards me with wide eyes, while the two kids were looking at me as if they're begging me to believe them.

"Amy?" Aiven tilted his head while flinching his brows.

I looked away from him. I forgot to tell him about what we saw when we were in the lake of truth. I was occupied by a lot of things and I didn't believe what the kid told me about the hair color.

Prince Marin turned to him instead to tell what we saw.

"You heard about the Fevier's hair color, haven't you? Only the Royal family of the Alpha Kingdom has that hair color," Prince Marin explained, "And when Amelia faced the lake, we saw her hair burning with fire colors, that means she's connected to the royal family."

Aiven's gaze turned back to me, "Why didn't you tell me? What Prince Marin said was true, only the royal family has that hair color. Just like the Prince's violet eye color except that the King has black sclera. Violet iris is the trademark of the Lorcan family."

Prince Marin nodded, "Yes, and for us, we have a blue skin tone."

"Green hair and eyes," Princess Tellusia raised her hand to say her family's mark.

Aiven adjusted his seat and faced me, "What I'm saying is, Amy, that may be the reason why your mother doesn't have any background. Because it will trace back to the Fevier family."

I sighed and stared at the blue cloudless sky, "I don't know. Why are you guys even expecting that I can help you?" I turned to the two kids beside me.

Princess Tellusia was waiting for her friend to explain, and now that I saw these two together, the way the Princess stares at the Prince, I can say that she might be taking a liking to him too.

Prince Marin has a chance on this matter.

"We thought you can check on King Sorin and find out what he's planning," Prince Marin said.

"Yeah, Rin also noticed some letters sent by King Sorin to his father, and they're planning something."

Aiven suddenly flicks his finger, "Is this about the Echo Kingdom?"

Prince Marin nodded, "The poor kingdom will suffer if we don't stop the Alpha Kingdom. We know the kindest ones are the Echo Kingdom, they're the most vulnerable amongst the empires. That's why they're taking advantage of their weakness."

Their words suddenly became bubbles that float on air, I don't even understand what they're saying anymore. But the idea that King Sorin has something to do with the ex-residencia's case, that means, he's planning something.

Prince Forest is right, Alpha kingdom is suspicious.

But what does it have to do with me? What if I am royalty? How can I even help them?

"Amy," Aiven pats my shoulders, "The fire last night was made by an Alpha, they still haven't caught the suspect, but it puts them as the suspect for the threats as well."

I just stare at Aiven. These two kids, how can we even trust them? They're from other kingdoms, they can be our enemies and they're just pretending. What if Prince Marin only saved me as a part of the plan?

"Rin, I want to go back to Mama," Princess Tellusia pulled the Prince's sleeves with a pout.

I watched them to see if these two are just two-faced, but their vulnerability as children is still high. They might be royalties, but they're just kids.

"You might be able to visit her tomorrow," Prince Marin pats Princess Tellusia's head.

"Why? Where's the Queen?" I asked.

Princess Tellusia sighed, "She and Father separated the same time the gossip about the ex-residencia because she knew it wasn't me who killed my maid. She fought for the truth, but father insisted that we pretend that it was me who did those things."

Prince Marin's gaze shifted behind me, and there I saw Regin walking towards us, but Princess Tellusia raised a rock from the ground to stop Regin, then she leaned and whispered, "We'll talk again tomorrow. Just tell him I'm telling you how to act like a Princess."

I just forced a smile on this kid's reason. Regin's already suspecting her, I can't just tell him that she's just teaching me. Regin's not stupid to believe that lie.

"Hello Regin," Prince Marin said as he and Princess Tellusia stands up to leave.

And I was right when I tried to tell Regin the lie Princess Tellusia said when they left, he just stared at me with a blank face.

Aiven, on the other hand, told him everything that the two kids said, leaving out the truth about my identity.

"What do you think?" Aiven asked after he explained everything.

Regin had his hand on his chin, thinking, then he looked at me, "Why would they want to tell you those things?"

Aiven sighed and shrugged, "Who knows? They said they need our help because Princess Tellusia's done with the accusations she receives."

"I think they're saying the truth, but we're not sure with their plan, I mean, Prince Marin uses the lake of truth, he can't possibly be lying to us," I said as we go back to the mansion while Aiven was following us to my room.

"The Echo Kingdom will visit us tomorrow to ask for help about the Alpha Kingdom's threats, maybe we can ask them about the truth?" Aiven said.

Regin and I looked at him, who just shrugged at us.

"They might shy away from questions, but we can try. Mister Untzer, please handle the meeting with the King and Queen of Echo. If we do that, they may not answer us, at least you have a position in the kingdom." Regin stopped and asked to shake Aiven's hand.

Regin looked like he doesn't suspect Aiven to be in a relationship with me anymore, and now, we're starting to work together. Somehow, excitement runs through my veins, as if I am about to embark on an adventure.
