I always believed that dragons, fairies, mermaids and everything else human imaginations created only exists in books and movies, but now that I am facing a gigantic red dragon, I think there are no impossibilities in this world.
My breath was held in my chest as I gaze upon the majestic being right in front of me. Its beautiful shining black eyes, horns, and strong dazzling wings are a sight to behold.
Amongst the wide green field, his bloody beauty was emphasized as he breathes out smoke and some spark.
"I'll go now, " Princess Tellusia smiled to me as she walks towards the fire-breather.
After I had long storytelling and sketching earlier, the Delta Kingdom's Princess suddenly appeared in my room and asked to have tea with her.
And if you're wondering how the conversation went... well, it didn't even exist.
We just sat down and drunk tea without spilling any words.
It was weird, but strangely, it was also relaxing.
I don't mind not talking, especially to someone I don't know.
And, I had a lot of questions on my mind, if ever we spoke, I don't know if I can keep my mouth shut.
I may abruptly ask what happened to her maid, what potion she made that caused her to die, who spread the curse, why the ex-residencias were banished, and why she didn't help them if she knew the curse wasn't real, that's why it's better we were quiet.
"Have a safe trip, Princess, " I waved my hand as I watch her climb up the dragon using her powers.
The ground she was stepping on raised, showing the brown soil and roots of grasses.
The bruises on her arm from being tied up yesterday were noticeable through her fair plump skin.
"Next time we have tea, please don't hesitate to speak, " she said as her knight was preparing the dragon to take its flight.
I forced a smile at her, so it was my fault that we didn't talk earlier? I was just cautious not to say the wrong word, especially that she's royalty.
But... maybe, she's also careful not to say words that may backfire. After what happened earlier, knowing that she's hiding secrets, speaking will be a danger that can spill the tea.
The wind slowly blew heavily as the wide crimson red wings of the dragon swung to raise towards the sky.
"She'll have to go home to report about what happened yesterday, and also to negotiate with the King about what our kingdom has to do to compensate for the harm done to her, " Regin whispered to me as we go back to the mansion.
"But, it's not our fault that she's kidnapped. It was because she---" I wasn't able to finish what I wanted to say because a group of guards appeared in front of us.
"Good afternoon, Miss, Sir Regin, " they greeted in unison as they bow.
We just smiled at them as they pass by.
"Be careful in speaking loudly about what we learned yesterday, Miss. It can be suspected as treason if someone hears you, " Regin whispered as his glances traveled around the hallway.
I sighed as I gaze over the windows showing the garden, I miss having breakfast with the Prince. I noticed that the plants have completely withered away.
"Regin, how's the Prince?" I asked with a soft longing voice.
"He's still investigating the threats we've been receiving."
Our footsteps echoed around the hall, only our shadows were moving in this place.
"Who do you think sends those warnings?"
"Anyone."
I looked at Regin who's walking in front of me, he can't seem to keep up with my slow pace. His wide back and tall stature only sent such stunning sense now.
I've been viewing him as a threat and someone I can't get along with, but he sure works hard and tries his best to fulfill his duty.
And I've been ignoring his words of warnings since forever.
I can send him to prison or cause him to receive punishment whenever I don't listen to him, right? They might think that he's not doing his job.
"Regin, " I called.
He turned his head to glance over me, then he looked forward again.
"I'm sorry, " I said as I watch my foot take each step on this carpeted floor.
He was silent for a while, then he turned to my room, "For what, miss?" He asked as he opens the door for me.
I stood in front of him, and looked directly at his sharp ivory eyes, "Because I was not listening to you."
I waited for his reaction. Will he be flustered? Embarrassed? Will he laugh? Or pretend as if he didn't hear me?
My heart became nervous as seconds pass by, he's not even blinking. He's just staring down at me.
"No worries, " he said then he went inside the room before me, but the moment he turned, I saw his lips curved into a smile.
"Hey!" I exclaimed in excitement, "You smiled!"
I have seen him smile, but after my apology, it just feels great to know that he's not angry at me or anything.
"I am your knight, and whatever you do, I have to fulfill my duty. I may be annoyed or enraged that you NEVER listen, " he emphasized as he sits down on a chair, "But I should never leave you."
My maids were looking at each other in confusion of what this conversation we're having is about, while Granny just continues stacking the books on the shelf.
I just realized that I should not act out of my own just because I think I can take care and handle myself. There are people at stake too with my every move.
My maids, and granny worries for me, and Regin is always there to help and protect me.
I mean, I am not alone anymore.
Everyone's here.
I watch everyone as they do their own thing.
Regin taking a rest with his eyes still lurking down on the mansion ground, looking for any suspicious actions; Granny clicking her tongue when she realized I never read any of the books; Lala and Lili arguing about how the flowers in the vase should be arranged, and Lulu arranging my art materials on a box.
I sat down on my bed and took a deep breath. The world is becoming dangerous now. I may not be from this place, but the people who changed my life is here. I don't want anyone getting hurt.
Especially Forest.
After having lunch, my head grew heavy as drowsiness covered me.
I laid on my bed for a few minutes while thinking of possibilities that may happen in the future.
I thought I was only going to be a bride candidate who has to do trials while having fun, but now, I want to win for the Prince. There are also things that are starting to make me realize that I am now living in this place, and whatever happens, affects me.
As I was about to think about the danger of what may happen if ever those threats came true, I finally fell asleep.
"Let's just wake her up for dinner. Regin, just guard Miss Amy outside while she sleeps," I opened my eyes and heard Lili's voice as they go out of the room with Regin who stood outside, "You're still a man after all, " Lulu added.
The room was dim with only the dawn's light covering the walls of my room. Its jolly calming color made me flash a soft smile as I stand up.
Sunset will be beautiful to see during this time.
I wonder if I can go to the Sunset Peak. I heard there are wolves living in that place, but they're not hurting anyone.
I hopped around, dancing with the light that showers me with a strange warm feeling as if I've seen this familiar light before.
I began whispering the song that I loved playing whenever I am tired of watching animes.
"Tall and gentle, too hot to handle, " I sang while pretending I was playing my ukulele on my hand while swaying my head, "You're all that I want."
I was too preoccupied with imaging the tune of the song that I wasn't able to realize that someone's entered my room until I turned around and saw the tall man closing the door.
He was wearing a maroon thick cloak with his hood covering over his head.
"Who are you?!" I asked as I walk back towards the window.
I'll open it and scream if ever this dude does something wrong.
Is he an ex-residencia? What if he's the one who's sending the threats?
What is he doing here? What does he want?
My throat tightened as I ask myself these questions that only send fear to my bones.
My feet are starting to feel like eyes in nervousness, for apple's sake, I am just a human! How can I fight whoever this dude is?
But I may applaud him for wearing such trendy cloak, and cool shoes.
Is the salary for doing illegal things such as threatening high? How much? Can I buy a crate of apples with the amount?
I shook my head from thinking about silly things during this time. I have to focus now, or else I'll be dead before dinner.
