Pauline stared at no particular as the scene yesterday kept on playing her mind. Bin Young was at the parking lot the moment she called Mr. Grim. Was that coincidence or Bin Young feigning?
"Why are you here?" she asked him, breathless.
Bin Young glared as he answered. "To get my car?"
Was his mother got frustrated when she got Bin Young? He's always edgy, she thought bitterly.
She couldn't help but snap at him. "I know you're getting your car, okay? What I'm asking is how long have you been here?"
Bin Young looked at her, annoyed. "Are you a detective or something, Miss Pauline?"
Pauline almost smacked him in the head.
She wiped her face in frustration. Mr. Grim exactly knew how to minimize his trace.
But her suspicion didn't falter.
She jumped out from her reverie as her intercom buzzed and immediately got the cradle. "Yes, Miss Min Ji?"
"Mr. Park Hoon Shik wanted to see you," Min Ji informed her on the other line.
"Send him in."
A moment later, Hoon Shik entered her office with a shy smile. Pauline smiled at him in return.
"Is there anything I can do for you, Hoon Shik?"
"A-ah yes, Miss Pauline," Hoon Shik walked on her table and put the big brown bag on top of it. She frowned in interest.
"What's this?" Pauline asked as she picked the brown bag and examined it.
"My auntie gave that to me when I paid her a visit in the province and asked her some herbal plants to help you prevent the migraine you have," he explained. "You can also plant that to your home. I also asked my auntie to get something to help you calm and sleep easily. You can read the instructions attached to that for your reference, Mr. Pauline."
Her heart warmed at his generosity, she smiled genuinely at him. "Thank you, Hoon Shik. Your plants really made a difference. I seldom got my migraine and I sleep a lot."
He grinned at her, pleased. "You're welcome."
Few minutes later, Hoon Shik bid his goodbye and already got out from her office. She reached for the brown paper and examined it once more. She saw an unfamiliar small tree and a pack of seedlings inside. There was also a small paper inside and Pauline dig to get it. This was Hoon Shik's instructions on how to plant and use it for medicinal purposes.
But when she opened it, it wasn't an instruction Hoon Shik was talking about. It was Mr. Grim's handwriting.
Dear Miss Pauline,
I apologized yesterday at the parking lot. I wasn't expecting that you called me and ran after me. I was really scared that you will actually know my identity. What if you won't like me?
I know what's going on in your mind. You already think that I'm a creepy stalker who's obsessed with you and do everything to get you. No, my love. Don't think of me like that. I'm a harmless person.
I know you're dying to know the person behind my letters but you don't have to worry about that now. The end is coming.
And when that day comes, it's up to you whether to accept me or throw me out of your life.
But remember this: I'm not going to stop loving you from afar.
No stopping,
Mr. Grim
