Pauline was on the rooftop of the building and sighed. She was already beat up on everything and her stress level was always on high. The upcoming album of ASUS was making her pressured. The Board of Directors were always demanding to see some financial reports to know the status flow of the company and she was also monitoring the stock price of LV Entertainment. All she needed was to have a vacation and relax but the timing was just so bad.
"Miss Pauline?"
She jumped in surprised and turned. She saw Jung Seung Joon beside her. He was looking the panoramic view of Seoul. He was wearing huge T-shirt and sweatpants. She concluded that he was practicing for their comeback.
"Sorry. Did I disturb you?" Seung Joon asked sheepishly.
How can a man look so feminine and demure? He's likely more like a woman than me, she thought.
Pauline shook her head. "Not at all. I was just relaxing. I'm just pretty beat up these days."
"Because of our comeback?"
She shook her head. "Nope. Everything. Being the CFO in this company is a curse. It makes you forget who you are."
Pauline was surprised to her words. Did she actually say that out loud?
"Don't you want it? To be on the top?"
"It's not like that I hate my position. Just like what Spiderman said in a movie: With great power comes great responsibilities. I hate too much responsibilities. I just wanted to lie on my bed and do nothing for the rest of my life. That would be great, wouldn't it?"
He laughed at her statement, she frowned.
"What? I'm not joking."
Seung Joon was still laughing to the point he was clutching his stomach. Pauline scowled at him.
"Stop it or else you're fired," she threatened.
He stopped laughing but still snickering. "You can't do that unless I'd do something rascal about my career."
Pauline rolled her eyes at him.
He chuckled. "They're right."
Her brows shot up. "What?"
Seung Hoon smiled, showing his perfect white teeth. "You're a sweet child covered with ice."
She frowned but her face suddenly changed when realization hit her. "Wait –"
"Bye, Miss Pauline."
Before she could stop him, he ran off like a mice. Pauline was left hanging in the middle and her head ached even more. She massaged her temple to ease the pain she was feeling.
As she turned to look at the view, her eyes caught something on the floor. She took a double look and saw a familiar paper. She glared. She remembered how that bastard played on her last night. Pauline promised she would never touch any of his letters anymore but his letter seemed to have a spell, she picked it up and opened. She read the letter.
Dear Miss Pauline,
:)
Mr. Grim
"A smiley?!" she shouted, disbelieving.
She was about to tear the letter when suddenly, a realization hit her again. She looked at the door where Seung Joon left from the rooftop and her heart beat was so fast like it would leap any moment.
"Could he be him?"
Her phone buzzed. Dazed, she fumbled her purse and got her phone. She swiped and read the message.
He's not him.
Pauline's migraine began to choke her head again and everything else became black.
