When Mo Yin entered the third floor, there was a single stone plaque erected in the middle of a large room. Mo Yin saw that there was nothing else in the room so she walked over to see what was written on the stone plaque.
Mo Yin stood in front of the stone plaque and silently read to herself the words that were inscribed onto it. It didn't take her long since there were only three simple lines:
Darkness
Avoid
or stay
Mo Yin quirked her brows. The creator of this floor sure treasured their words like gold. Only writing four words, they can't be bothered to write more huh?
As soon as Mo Yin had finished reading these few words, her vision suddenly darkened, plunging into pure darkness. Mo Yin stood in one spot calmly and assessed the situation.
Rather than her surroundings becoming dark, it should be her vision that went blind. If it was simply the surrounding room becoming dark, then this room would be too easy to pass especially. Any fire or light ability user would be able to easily create a light source not to mention the convenient existence of flashlights and lanterns.
The words on the stone plaque held the instruction of this floor and the first word, darkness had already been literally fulfilled. Next would naturally be the 'avoid' part.
Although Mo Yin couldn't see, her other senses worked just fine. As she stood there in one place, she felt a sensation like something was reaching for her.
Mo Yin backed away while simultaneously lashing out with her spear. The sensation disappeared for a while but it soon reappeared in multiple different directions.
Avoid or stay. The rules were simple and clear cut. Mo Yin couldn't see who she was up against up she lifted her head up and smiled. Just taking away her vision, this was looking down on her.
She didn't even have to fight.
The odd sensation that she was feeling from all four sides began to move in on her. Mo Yin gave the spear in her hand a swirl and also charged toward.

Liam who was waiting the whole time at the teleportation array looked at the sky that had already darkened. He was actually quite worried about the girl, let's not say whether or not she could pass the floors, she might already be dead with a whole body.
There was only an hour left before the six-hour time limit is up. At that time, what will be transported out from the tower might just be a dead corpse…
While Liam was lost in his thoughts, the teleportation array suddenly began to shine. After the light receded, a small figure was seen lugging a suitcase behind her.
Mo Yin let out a tired sigh. Finally, she was out of that tower. Thankfully, the last floor wasn't anything hard and with the help of several stamina potions that she had stocked up beforehand in her suitcase, it was a smooth sailing with practically no difficulties.
"You actually manage to come out alive? I thought for sure that I was going to be on burial duty today."
Liam walked up to Mo Yin and grinned. Although he had on a slightly mocking face, the flash of surprise in his eyes was genuine.
There was still an hour before the time limit was up but she was already sent out of the tower. This could only mean that she had really cleared three floors.
If not for maintaining his Senior Brother image, his mouth would have long opened up in a wide 'o'.
Mo Yin didn't pay attention to Liam's intentionally goading words. She looked up and smiled at him before saying, "I wouldn't dare to implicate Senior with such a trivial task."
Liam gave Mo Yin a dissatisfied look before bending down to take the suitcase from Mo Yin's hand. Mo Yin had the intention of pulling back but Liam was a step quicker and tugged the case away from her hand.
He grunted, "What do you have in here? So heavy."
Mo Yin secretly rolled her eye. How could she not know if her suitcase was heavy or not, she knew that Liam was just complaining for the sake of doing so and thus didn't bother to refute him.
Liam carried Mo Yin's case and turned around to start walking. He said to Mo Yin, "Hurry up, I'll show you to your dorm. It's not early already since you made me wait for you for so long."
Mo Yin didn't say anything and just obediently followed after Liam.
As they walked, Liam would never lack anything to say. Even by the time they had reached the institute dorm, Mo Yin had yet to see him shut up once.
Liam opened up a door and led Mo Yin into a room. The room was quite commodious and could fit all the furniture with plenty of moving space left. There was a simple but clean sheet bed for one person on the side of the room as well as a writing desk and a closet. There was also another door that led to the bathroom.
"Since you cleared the special condition, you are currently ranked first among your year, the top three rankers get to have their own private room."
Liam placed Mo Yin's suitcase onto the floor and said to her, "You should rest first, all the other procedures and stuff will be taken care of tomorrow. This room had been a spare so it doesn't have an owner but I'll have the school register this room under your ID. This way you can use your institute's ID card to unlock and lock your room door."
"If you need anything, uh, just find someone that looks like they know what they're doing. Oh right, what's your name again?"
Mo Yin replied back, "Mo Yin."
Liam grinned, "Right, I'm sure that we'll be seeing each other soon again." After saying this he waved his hand at and walked out of the room, shutting the door behind him with a 'clack' sound.
When he was gone, Mo Yin laid down onto the bed and closed her eyes in satisfaction as she sank into the soft mattress.
It was a tiring day and she wanted nothing more than to rest.
Just as she was about to drift off to sleep, a loud scream sounded from outside. Mo Yin who had already wrapped herself up in her blanket irritatedly opened her eyes once again.
Screaming in the middle of the night, are you trying to be a ghost?
Whoever was screaming had extremely good lung capacity. Mo Yin waited for a couple of minutes but the screaming continued on unceasingly. In fact, even more people seem to have joined in on the screaming.
There was first the sound of doors opening from other rooms beside her. Then there were the sound of frantic footsteps as well as people cursing loudly.
What's going on, did someone set fire and commit murder.
At this point, Mo Yin couldn't pretend that the noises don't exist. She flung off her blanket and curiously made her way to the door.
Creak.
When she opened it, she saw the scene of people desperately trying to run away from various black- masked people. As they ran, some would try to fight back but the black the skill of the black-masked people were obviously above theirs. They could put up any resistance at all and could only be dragged away to be beaten up. It was very much like a scene from hell where the black-masked people were the devils.
Unexpectedly, the black-masked people attack all of the people in the hall indiscriminately but they left her alone. In the chaotic hall, the front of her room was peaceful.
She suddenly thought back to Li Fei Qin had said:
'Let me give you a word of-- rise in the rank like your life depends on it or prepare for hell during your stay here.'
Heh, she wasn't joking around.
The screaming of the people in the hall was very miserable but Mo Yin would like to express that it had nothing to do with her. She was about to close her door and go back to sleep when a golden-haired boy came pit pat pit pat running towards her.
The golden-haired boy was very sharp, he saw that Mo Yin was the only one that was being ignored by the black-masked people and cleverly decided to run towards her.
The golden-haired boy waved his hands madly at Mo Yin, "Help!"
These people here were so scary ah! He didn't stand a chance against them but he also didn't want to be beaten up. The boy recognized Mo Yin from this afternoon. She was that person that was crazy enough to challenge the super dangerous tower! Since she's still alive, it meant that she had actually cleared it and is now ranked number one.
Mo Yin expressionlessly closed the door with a 'bam'. From the looks of it, the black-masked people won't attack her so she can rest with a peace of mind. Even if the world was messy as long as one's home is peaceful then that's enough
The golden-haired boy despairingly looked at the closed door. His emerald eyes with a mole underneath each eye were widened into round balls as he knocked against Mo Yin's door.
"Please help me ah, I don't want to be beaten up, wuwu…"
His eyes teared up slightly, combined with his naturally angelic features, he appeared very pitiful and invoked a sense of protection within other people.
Too bad Mo Yin wasn't here to see it...not that she would've cared.
The golden-haired boy was reluctant to give up. He continued to knock on the door.
"Dear God, can I pay you to open this door?!"
Mo Yin stopped in her tracks. This piqued her interest. She stood by the door and answer the boy, "En, how much are we talking about?"
Everything uses money. The stamina potion that she had drunk today, they were worth a little fortune to the average person.
The golden-haired boy was shocked. His begging actually worked?
"I-I only have a card worth 50,000 small gold coins on me...will that work?"
Mo Yin smiled. How could she reject money that was practically free?
Opening the door a crack, she dragged the boy in before shutting it close.
"Card." Mo Yin held out a hand and looked at the boy with a raised brow.
The boy didn't dare to tarry out of fear that Mo Yin will change her mind and throw him out. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a bank card. Mo Yin took the card, confirmed the amount inside of it before tucking it away.
"Do whatever you want. But if the people outside charges in here and starts attacking you, you're on your own."
After receiving her payment, Mo Yin didn't bother with the boy anymore. She yawned and headed back to bed.
The golden-haired boy looked around the room nervously. After a while, he finally decided to sit down on the chair that was next to the desk.
The sound of tragic screaming could still be heard outside. It was unlikely that it would stop at all tonight. However, Mo Yin no longer paid it any mind and firmly shut the noise out of her head so she could sleep.
The golden-haired boy, on the other hand, was relieved that he had managed to escape. Out of nowhere when he was already in bed sleeping, the black-masked people had appeared in his room to attack him and his roommates. None of the had expected such a turn of event and was utterly caught off guard.
What was even sadder was that they were completely unable to fight back even after realizing the situation. Although the black-masked people only beat people until they were half dead and didn't actually kill anyone, who would actually be willing to be beaten to this extent?
In addition to the black-masked people, there had also been people working behind the scene to carry the unconscious body of the students away to the infirmary.
He had awakened his ability today and was still unable to fully understand how to use it. So far he was only a weakling that could only truss a chicken. Actually no, he had never even truss a chicken before.
As the youngest of his family, he was the pearl that all his family members held gently in their palms. From small, he had never suffered the slightest bit of harm or grievances. Today was the first time that he had experienced the feeling of running for one's life. Today probably also won't be the last…
The golden-haired boy felt depressed just by thinking about the possibility of facing the black-masked people every night.
Ah, so scary. No wonder his dad had been so against him going to this school…
But it's worth it! His big brother was also part of this institute and had become very strong by coming her. His big brother was someone thmat he looked up to even more so than anyone else. If he can survive here, he naturally can't do any worst as his little brother!
Everyone in his family treats him as a delicate greenhouse flower that can't shoulder the rain or the wind. But he wasn't willing to hide behind his dad and big brother forever. He wants to be able to help them to in their times of need and for that reason, he will absolutely graduate from this institute!
