Being different on many levels they clashed a lot- just like any other couple- but eventually, both of them talked through things and sorted their differences.
A notable event in their relationship came just after two days of their love confession. And acceptance of each other.
The couple had had a very satisfying weekend in each other's company. In the middle of Sunday night, Shew's phone rang through the silent room. Reluctantly waking up and releasing herself from her boyfriend's embrace she silenced her phone to not disturb his sleep with its shrill noise.
The caller id surprised her. It was her companion from her other work. Fearing the worse she went into the bathroom to receive the call.
"Hello, Sam."
"Hey, Shew!" A cheery voice answered from the other side. "Glad you picked up, were you sleeping?"
"No, I was scuba diving." She replied sarcastically. "What do you think I was doing at freaking two in the morning?"
Shew swore to herself quietly. If Sam had called her only to check in on her at this ungodly hour then she would definitely flip.
"Hehe, sorry." It was a sheepish laugh. "I wouldn't have disturbed you if this wasn't important." The voice took a sombre tone.
Shew knew that Sam wasn't the one to play around. She sighed resigned. This couldn't be anything good.
"I know, just give me the news."
"Well, you are all over this one paparazzi website being splashed all over as girlfriend of Timo." Sam was trying her hardest to sound serious but there was an unmistakable glee in her voice. "Is it true?" The voice also held a trace of envy.
"If you want juicy details of our relationship then I am hanging up." Shew threatned her but at the same time she did confirm the rumor.
"No, I don't want that." Sam gave up on prying. By the sound of it Shew didn't seem to be in a good mood. "There is something more important."
"Sam, I am already tensed here so spit it out." Shew was very close to snapping.
"The media has gotten the gist of where you currently work", Sam didn't hide bother hide the bitterness in her voice. "I mean they have traced you to your school so be careful tomorrow."
Shew had her doubts about the stunt they had pulled on the bridge in front of so many prying eyes. Even though Timo was covered from head to toe, there were bound to be humans who could- or would- recognise him.
To be honest what Sam told her wasn't completely improbable. She was half-expecting the media to follow her around like homeless dogs. If that news took even little bit of wind then the situation would become very overwhelming. She was on tenterhooks thinking about the harm she would bring upon innocent Timo.
Shew took a whole minute to respond. Not out of shock but out of contemplation.
"How bad is it?"
"To get hold of him they will attack you like a flock of crows."
Shew grimaced. It was bad but completely manageable.
"Couldn't this have waited for a while?" Shew groaned. For a change she was feeling lazy. She wanted to spend few more days in Timo's warm embrace before facing the shitstorm that life threw at her.
"They are diggers Shew and they dig real fast." Sam offered as words of comfort. "Although they will never be able to track any details of your actual past they will not stop at any rate trying to get piece of your life just because you're tied to a celebrity."
"How much time do I have?" Shew asked biting her thumb.
"Tomorrow morning." Sam replied back to her cheery self. "And that paparazzi post is already deleted. So you don't have to worry about it."
"Thank you very much, Sam. I owe you one." Shew answered gratefully.
If it wasn't for Sam then this problem would've taken days to be solved.
Sm barked a rowdy laugh, "Treat me to coffee and a signed album when you meet me that will be more than enough."
"Sure." Shew nodded sighing relieved. "I have to hang up now Sam, thanks again."
"You are welcome."
Shew ended the call and waited for a few moments listening to the sounds from the bedroom. It was all quiet except for few rustling noises.
She stepped out of the bathroom. Timo was half awake and sitting on the bed looking around the darkroom in confusion. Shew walked up to him and placed her hand on his shoulder.
"What happened, love?"
"I just woke up." Timo leaned into her touch and replied groggily.
"Bad dream?" She asked frowning.
He hugged her from the waist and placed his head on her stomach with closed eyes. Shew ran her fingers through his silky hairs which were coloured grassy yellow. She smiled cherishing the quiet moment.
"Aren't you sleepy?" She asked smiling after few minute had passed.
He nodded in positive still hugging her. She made him lay down and herself sat on the edge of the bed until he was asleep again. After she was sure that he was in deep sleep, Shew went and sat on the couch present in the room and started to think. It wasn't long before she too drifted off to sleep in her sitting position.
