Being a teacher, it was mandatory for Shew to attend the concert. She was supposed to be there to supervise the kids and make sure that nothing unexpected took place.
Given that the band performing was 5 Emperors, the staff including Shew couldn't help but enjoy the concert with their students. They were finding it hard to suppress the fans inside themselves as it would be embarrassing in front of their students.
Shew was no exception. She had searched for them and their songs extensively in hopes of getting a strong anchor for herself in the fast-changing tides of her life.
She had successfully found them- especially him and used their voices as a means of solace for her wounded heart.
She couldn't quite forget the time when she had accidentally walked in on their shoot. The concert today came in as a surprise to her too. She had not at all expected to see him on the stage live in her whole lifetime.
As the concert progressed, her surprise turned to a small smile on her beautiful pink lips and she found a spot between the kids to enjoy the peace his presence alone was bringing her.
Shew was aware that what she felt for him was extremely wrong. They hadn't even exchanged their names during their first random meeting but something about this totally illogical situation was comforting to her.
As she was getting lost in their music her wristwatch buzzed. It was the signal she had been waiting for the whole day. The sudden vibration of her wristwatch was like a wake-up call. It brought her out of the spell the music had put on her.
Clearing her head, Shew got up and hurriedly walked out int the hallway, away from the crowd. Her sudden retreat was not noticed by anyone thanks to the ongoing concert and everyone's focus was on the band.
Shew made a beeline for the ladies restroom, following the GPS on her phone. She made sure that nobody noticed her and looked through the stalls one by one. In the middle stall, she found a brown cardboard box placed on the floor. It had no note or it wasn't addressed to anyone.
Shew grimly walked ahead, bent down and picked up the plain box and swiftly cut it open. Inside she found a picture of a man and a brief summary of life and routine. She skimmed through the details and the man in the picture was a notorious drug dealer whom they had been trying to track down for a while now. But the man was like a fox- wicked and elusive. He had evaded them for about six years but his time was finally up.
At the end of the summary, Shew found her orders- printed in bold red- for the day:
'ELIMINATE THE TARGET'
She let out a dry chuckle. Her higher-ups bragged about being the most secretive agency in the whole world but they dared to be show-offs handing out assignments like chocolates in broad daylight. Shaking her head she stuffed everything back into the box and made way to the school parking lot.

She easily sneaked out of the campus and loaded her gun while on way in her car.
Although she wanted to finish off her assignment with no fireworks it wasn't wrong to be prepared just in case.
The Kimber Micro was one of the best small guns out there in the world and suitable for conceal carry. But Shew disdained these little machines which led to unnecessary cleaning jobs. She preferred blades over guns and completing assignments using undetectable poisons- without all unnecessary festivities.
On the way to her destination, Shew's mind was only focused on one thing. And that was to complete the job given to her in record time and get out f the place before the alarm was raised.
She reached the resort in thirty minutes and according to the report, her target was still present there.
Being inconspicuous as she had learnt in her training, Shew entered the resort.
By the time she got down from her car, Shew was unrecognisable. her face was caked with thick makeup. Her eyes were covered with black sunglasses but an expert would always have a contingency plan so she had perfected her disguise to the par.
A dull brown wig sat on her head with brown eyebrows, green eye contacts and a casual dress- which one would wear to resorts like these covered her lithe form. From a glance, she looked nothing like the boring school teacher she had been hours ago.
With confident strides and lazy smirk pasted on her lips, Shew sauntered into the resort. After a little bit of looking around, she found the dealer relaxing in the swimming pool surrounded heavily by the guards from every direction the eye could see.
Shew suppressed her dry chuckle at the pathetic scene. The man was so afraid for his life that he has men keep watch on top of the trees- who were terrible at camouflage. Her smirk turned to a tasteless sneer and her mind ran amock with various permutations and combinations. A number of scenarios ran through her mind in a short amount of time.
Not wanting to cause bloodshed she started to think of a new plan and it came to her in the next second.
A waiter was taking the drink for her victim. She purposefully bumped into the unsuspecting fellow as a distraction and dipped her index finger in the drink- concealed from the prying eyes. With a little bit of stirring, it was a piece of cake.
Shew then casually went and sat at the bar ordering a glass of orange juice for her dried throat. She saw the waiter give her prey the drink. The vixen waited for a while until the dealer drank the drink and after several seconds started to choke in water.
While everyone in the vicinity went to help a lost cause, Shew waited calmly her eyes fixated on the flailing body in the water. Few more seconds later the man was dead.
While everyone was in a frenzy because of such unexpected events, Shew got up and left the resort. It was as if she was never there.
On the way back to school she came back to her usual look and went to wait in the staff room until the concert wrapped up. It wasn't long before the show ended and everybody went to their respective houses in high spirits.
Shew was disappointed in herself for taking another life but she consoled herself saying the man she killed was a monster himself. It wasn't the first time she had murdered someone but it didn't lessen the guilt she felt nor did it appease the rage burning in her heart. It just made her feel like a failure as a human being. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't justify her actions to her own conscience.
Taking deep breaths she went to the library to calm down her fried nerves.
Even though we know what we are doing is right, sometimes we have to break our morals to reach the goal.
