Chapter 10 - Whispers

Standing next to me was the world. Holding each other's hands tightly as we look down from the edge of a cliff.

He looked at me before grabbing my waist, and just like a ghost, we formed a new kind of bond. Two wisps, blue and orange, flying in the night sky together like butterflies would in the summer. We danced all night for the rest of our life.

One night I went back to that same cliff and touched the ground with my hands. It felt nice to touch land, but it's harder to know that the people who betray you are living. I still have hundreds of years ahead of me before I actually age, but that's okay. It gives me time to change the world.

Not a moment too long after, he's running to me with fear in his eyes. He grabs my hand and we jump off the edge once more. They throw fire at us but he protects me from it. The burning hatred seems to burn much more than passion.

We sank to the bottom of the pond we landed in and he looked at me. I know he's burned, I know he won't be gone either. It's his spirit that died inside of him that bothers me the most. He looked at me in pain.

Again, we turn into wisps and fly away to a place we built together. A place where everyone could be in peace. A sanctuary filled with Lillies, Roses, and even Lavender. He looks at me and nods his head.

From that place, I start running and turn myself into a butterfly with white wings that sparkled in the moonlight. I flew around to every orphanage I could find and gathered a bunch of children who I saw worthy of escaping this foolish world.

Once the children followed me to the cliff, I turned myself back to normal and told them of the sanctuary. I told them how they could escape the foolish people of the world and start over. Each of them receive a special marking on their wrists from me, which gave them the ability of flight and transformation.

We all flew to the sanctuary where my dear greeted all of the children. As for the elder kids that I brought along, we formed a bond where we were the elders of the land.

"Everyone listen, you all have only one chance to change yourselves..This is not your true form but instead of accepting it, I will allow you to awaken your inner being. After that, we will never be human again. We will become part of the sky and gain moth wings of many variations. The only thing holding you back..is yourself." I said.

Before the moon fully rose, the children and elders transformed into their new form. As for me, I transferred them to the real sanctuary. The people I once knew ran towards me and that's when I became the goddess hidden within me.

My hair turned white, the basic dress I wore became an elegant purple dress with tiny star prints on them, and my aura was vibrant.

My lover grabs my hand in his new form as well. We fly up into the sky along with the smaller children that didn't get to the sanctuary yet and formed the brightest heart in the sky before we vanish to our land.

From time to time, we all go out and whisper the truths into peoples' dreams hoping they would change.

"So this is what mother was talking about. Creating my own place where it's utopia. I know there is a dystopia here too, but they are children." I said.

"Lady Bug..I guess we can't call you that anymore. We have done things no one our age should do, but our powers aren't meant for normal lives." he said.

" You're right. We can live in peace until the foolish see how wrong they were. Now that we are one of the Gods and Goddesses, I think it will be up to our peers to choose our new name." I said grabbing his hand.

"Do you love me?"

I kissed his lips gently before resting my head on his shoulder.

"My actions speak a thousand more words than I do. Of course I do, ever since you came into the picture after all of this chaos has happened, I have never stopped loving you. I let peoples words fill my head with what was right instead of teaching myself what was right."

The look in his eyes were priceless. Although we might be in the clear for now, it will be a quiet night because the whispers of the needy have been silenced.
