Yang He was busy trying to locate Yuan Min that she didn't notice someone watching her. Song Chen was leaning against a pillar, curiously glancing about. He had to applaud Yuan Xing, she was really unlike any female he had ever met. She didn't cower when Wang Qiang attempted to humiliate her and smoothly solved the problem.
Song Chen admitted he was stunned by her when she first came in the hall. Her flawless face appeared in his mind's eye. His heart skipped a beat which left him slightly confused. What was wrong with him? Song Chen has never experienced any romantic feelings for the opposite sex, so he had no clue about the concept of love. That incident didn't help things either. His interest in Yuan Xing was because something told him that she was hiding herself deeply. A person capable of fooling everyone around them is a dangerous person.
Something was going to happen tonight. That was obvious since Peachwood summit was known for these type of things. Furthermore, Madam Yuan had an eerie smile that reminded him of those people he had met during those dark days. Wang Qiang shyly approached him with a nervous blush.
"C-Chen, it's been so long since we last met up. How are you?" she stuttered.
Song Chen's perpetual blank eyes blinked at her. He didn't reply back to her so she took that as an OK to continue.
She tugged her hair and stepped closer. "I was looking forward to seeing you today. Not that I like you in the way or anything, ah I mean, I don't hate you, I just..." she soon gathered he wasn't even listening to her.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" he suddenly interrupted. His voice was carefully polite, the kind of tone you'd take with a stranger. Wang Qiang teared up and her face flushed with embarrassment. She opened her mouth, unable to reply before mumbling a quick goodbye and leaving. Song Chen was still focused on the door where Yuan Xing left from. What was she planning?
Meanwhile, Yang He heaved a relieved sigh once Yuan Min appeared beside her. She nodded her leave at the ladies and pulled Yuan Min away. "Where were you?"
Yuan Min shrugged his shoulders. "I was hanging out with my friends. Why? Did something go wrong? Relax, Mother, everything is going according to plan. This is not something we have thought of for a few months. Speaking of, shouldn't you begin step one of the plan?" He was unconcerned because with all the evidence gathered, there was no way they would lose out. There was just one thing he was worried about.
"Have you found anything on Yuan Xing?" For the first time, Yang He looked frustrated. There was nothing suspicious about her; she was raised in a small town and the residents knew her well. Yuan Min sighed. He preferred to obtain her through blackmail, unfortunately, now he had to use forceful methods.
"I've bribed someone to add a strong aphrodisiac in the food she's going to eat. Be careful. That girl is more shrewd than most people I know." Yang He somewhat doubted that the aphrodisiac would work but she didn't tell Yuan Min that.
Yang He returned to her seat and greeted the ladies. A particular lady who was trying to get in the good graces of Madam Yuan spoke up, "Madam Yuan, you are truly generous to see a mistress' son as your own." She sneaked a sly glance at Huang Biyu.
"I have watched Yuan Min grow, he is a spectacular young man. Sister Biyu was such for a while so I raised him on her behalf. Also, Yuan Xue has been raised by Sister Biyu, she is a good mother. "
For the next hour, the ladies chatted about random topics when Yang He's phone pinged in notification. The discussion stopped and Yang He excused herself. She pressed on a button and a video started to play. Two distinct voices, one male and the other female, were made out first. The male voice was recognizable by some ladies.
"Hey, isn't that...?"
"Yeah, it's him."
Yang He's fingers trembled and she paled with fright. The moans were loud enough for the other ladies to hear, the nearest ones leaning across Yang He's shoulder to see. Their mouths gaped in shock, horror and pity. More ladies stood up and looked over the video's content. A sex tape! Yuan Xue's face could not be clearly seen yet his build, side appearance and voice were all his! Poor Madam Yuan was so frightened, she was about to faint. The ladies snickered inwardly. Look! This is the Yuan family's successor! Who would have thought that the kind Yuan Xue would display this type of behavior.
Huang Biyu couldn't handle viewing the tape and her whole body shook in trepidation. "No, no, it's not possible, that is NOT Yuan Xue. Yuan Xue is not that type of person, unless he was framed by others unjustly."
Huang Biyu regained her footing and remained calm despite the distress growing her heart. Yuan Xue was like her son. How could she not be worried?
The other ladies scorned her. "Lady Biyu, your too much! Yuan Xue is Madam Yuan's biological son. She is the one who is most worried. Besides, didn't Madam Yuan say it earlier too? Yuan Xue was raised by Huang Biyu. It goes to show what a jealous mistress would do to become the main wife." The situation took a turn for the worst.
