Chapter 3 - New Aqquantainces arent always good

" It is... simple... my mind... is to fast... faster than any.... other I have seen..., I speak... to fast... I accidentally... cast magic... "

Her eyes, I looked at them, they glowed, I felt my heartburn, this girl she knew so little of the world yet could be interested in such a single boring concept, I found it beautiful, I knew she wanted more, I could see it... the passion in her eyes, once I mentioned the word magic.

So I let her speak, and she said, " Um, great traveling one... I ask of you, please give me advice on magic... " I could see her trying to look away but peaking over to see my reaction, as I assumed magic was not an easy concept here or a common one, or at least the tier magics. Although from this I could tell she knew magic, probably a maximum of tier 2 sense if it was higher the chances of this guard kneeling would get increasing lower sense he may just assume I'm a mage who hed rather not offend, but could still fend off.

I put my hand into my robe since it was inside out there were pockets, this helped sense it made a presentable bulge on the outside, this way they knew I was actually grabbing something. I thought up the perfect plan for this, she is obviously a high ranked person by looking at all her escorts, I will befriend this person and use it to my benefit for now.

I tried casting a spell in my head, but then I quickly thought, 'dismantle' to try and stop it just in case. If I cast a spell based on my thoughts on purpose, then who knows the power of it, I will use the inside of the pocket as paper, and my finger a brush. I quickly tried inscribing some words using mana, ' ᛁᚾᚠᛁᚾᛁᛏᛖ᛫ᛋᚢᛒᛋᛈᚨᚲᛖ᛫ᛗᛖᚾᛏᚨᛚ᛫ᛚᛁᛜᚲ᛫ᛞᛁᛋᚷᚢᛁᛋᛖ᛫ᛋᛏᛟᚱᚨᚷᛖ᛫ᛖᛗᛈᛏᛃ᛫ᛋᚢᛋᛏᚨᛁᚾ ' surprisingly, I felt that I lost the touch to my pocket, I wiggled my hand around and couldn't tell anything, the intended spell worked, I have created, with this another assumption was confirmed, using more keywords is key, that most likely why advanced spells have such long chants, the people of this world know few keywords, but it seems to me, every word has a meaning.

With all of this done, it took simply 5 seconds, 0.3 to think, the rest to write. Even I was impressed with such a feat. I then looked at the girl, " I have... no information... fitting for.... your kind... "

I could see visible disappointment on her face, but I will think of something later to give her if I truly need this connection more than I thought, now that I second think my actions, giving her something would be potentially giving power to a future enemy, I must use my current cards and only draw from the deck later.

I then heard it from outside, a knock on the driver's window. The old man slid it down, and the driver quickly stated, " We are approaching Raven City. " I thought it quite the auspicious naming sense, but I dwelled no question to it. The old man then shut the window, as I rested my head back and silently wrote another incantation onto my robe. I then relaxed and thought of a name, as I can't go around not having a name in a world of people with them. Currently, I am rushing through ideas of names, and I can't decide on one.

Then, the carriage stopped as I heard chains pulling, most likely an entryway that was being blocked by some sort of barrier held up by chains. If I remember correctly, its called a gate, a way of keeping towns and cities safe with non-magical, pure physical means. I am not quite sure why I even know of this.

After what felt about 30 minutes, I heard the stopping of this damned thing, finally. Then I heard it, " Travelling one, would you like to uh... join us for now... " He was obviously wary, I wonder why so. I decided I would have to follow him to find out.

He then escorted me along with the guards following to the sides, we appeared at a large door, I must say, this is quite the grand construction. Then as it opened , I saw a man sitting on a pretty big chair, as I walked behind them, they suddenly kneeled down, if this was to show respect, I decided if I were going to get everything I needed, I must show that I am not equal to any who do not prove to me they are equal or better, for me to give respect, one must earn it, just like I must earn others.

That's when I heard a voice, emitted from the man on the large seat, " You there, why do you dare not kneel. " The mage in green was already sweating, so were the rest, it seemed the guards who were obviously even better equipped though, were getting ready to subdue me.

I then replied, " Respect... you must... earn.. my respect... for me... to... bow.., much less... kneel."

I couldn't tell if he was angered or not, he obviously has a 'proffesional' face.

He then said, " Why must I earn the respect of one of my subjects, much less a normal mage."

I quickly discerned this man was most likely of the highest-ranking in this city, if he was a normal person, they wouldn't say this without making preparations to subdue me, dare say the whole town is their subjects.

I reply, " I am... not... your subject... I am no... normal mage... I am... a wanderer... "

He said, " Wonderer or not, subject or not, MAGE or NOT, you are in my kingdom, the capital no less, and in my throne room to boot! Do you dare disrespect the Kingdom of Libia entirely? "

I then refused to back down, " I do... not demand... respect.. but you do... in return... I will... take my... leave. "

That's when I turned around to leave, the guards stopped me, the green mage obviously was sweating harder than anyone, for he felt my aura earlier and knew, I was not to be threatened, but he didn't know the full extent of it.

I quickly started chanting, " ᛁᛜᚲᚨᛈᚨᚲᛁᛏᚨᛏᛖ᛫ᛋᛚᚢᛗᛒᛖᚱ᛫ᚾᛁᚷᚺᛏᛗᚨᚱᛖ᛫ᚱᛖᛈᛖᚾᛏ᛫ᛞᛖᛚᚨᛃᛖᛞ᛫ᚺᛠᛚ " Chanted entirely in two seconds. Then they all fell over, some were already twitching from the keyword nightmare. I then pushed open the door, which was surprisingly light, most likely on a form of a huge hinge or some magic.

The king looked surprised, and quickly said, " Great Mage, who was that man? "
