Fuego's office, Heavenly Fire.
"Kshh-" The sound of glass could be heard braking in Fuego's office. Their premature celebration had been cut early. Fuego broke a wine glass in his hand after watching the live feed of the conference. "That b!tch!!" He gritted his teeth in frustration then threw the bottle of wine across the room.
Cielo muttered to herself, "Not only did Aethons signed with Trishelle, but even the owner also came out and verified for her…"
They had been trying to get Aethons to sign a contract with them but they could never meet the owner of the industry.
Cielo began pacing. "When did this happen? Fuego, when did she meet with them. Why did Aethons agree to her and not us? Argh!!" She stomped her foot in anger as she was truly pissed off.
"How the heck do you expect me to know?!" Fuego yelled at her. "Do you think I'm able to watch her all the time?!"
Cielo flipped the table in her rage. "Then find someone who could, you fool!" Cielo then stormed out of the office leaving Fuego to figure out how to sidestep this curveball thrown at them.
"Did she call us fake? I'll show her who's fake!" He slammed his fist into the hard oak desk.
Cielo's apartment
"-Happy Birthday to you~" "Happy Birthday, my baby girl." Cielo had returned home after a stressful day. She was on her couch watching a video of her father and her celebrating Trishelle's birthday. She hated seeing the way her father looked at Trishelle with love. Cielo paused the video on the television and switched it back to a news channel.
"Imperial Dynasty makes a comeback. In just a short press conference, they managed to pull in investors from all around the world due to Trinity Hospital and Aethons Industry's involvement with the company. Isn't this the genius heir that Wayne had once proclaimed? Will Trishelle finally succeed her father by becoming the top businesswoman?" The news channel was reporting on the press conference what happened that morning.
"I am clearly the eldest child, the one that should have been the heir. It was all Trishelle's fault. She stole everything from me!" Cielo gripped the remote control in anguish. Cielo's phone rang at that moment. When she saw who was calling her, she quickly picked up and put on her sweetest voice. "Hello, daddy. Yes, I'm doing okay. No, I didn't know that sister came back. I'm not sure either, daddy. Why would sister do this? Is she trying to make us look bad?" Cielo started complaining, pushing all the blame to Trishelle. "I know, daddy. I'll ask her to call you if I see her. Bye, daddy. Love you."
Cielo hung up the phone and scoffed, "Tsk, if it wasn't for that mistake that she made. You would have given Wayne Enterprise to her." Her eyes glint with an evil light.
Cielo had always hated Trishelle from the day she knew of her existence. Cielo has always thought that she was an only child until one day, her father came to bring her home after her mother died.
Ten years ago,
"Sob, sob… Mum…" Cielo was sitting beside her mother on the hospital bed, crying. Her mother was diagnosed with leukemia a year ago. Today, she passed away in her sleep. Her mother was her only family. She had never seen her father, never knew who he was. Even her mother never told her about him and always avoided the subject.
"Cling, cling, clack." Sounds of footsteps were heard approaching Cielo but she was not in the mood to talk to anyone. "Leave, I want to be alone with my mother." Cielo thought that it was a nurse and told the person behind her to leave.
"Cielo. I'm your father. I'm here to fetch you home." The man that stood behind her said.
Cielo knitted her brows and turned to look at the man. The man stood tall in his black suit, giving off a sense of authority and power. Cielo turned back towards her mother and said, "I don't have a father."
"Cielo, I know you are angry at me. But please, let me take care of you." The man lowered his voice and tried to be as gentle as possible.
Cielo turned and looked at the man again. "I really don't know you."
The man's eyes widened, unable to believe that his own daughter did not recognize him. He had never expected that Cielo's mother lied to him and said that Cielo did not want to see him, which was why he could never meet her. He had always sent them money and gifts to compensate for his sin. As it turns out, Cielo's mother never told her about him.
Cielo reluctantly went with the man as he proved to be her biological father. When they both arrived at her new home they were greeted by some maids, butlers then a beautiful woman with curves in all the right places. "Welcome home, honey." The woman said greeting them at the door.
A girl around the same age as her ran up to them as well, "Daddy, daddy! Come look at my sculpture!"
"Haha. Slow down, my baby girl. I want you to meet someone first." The man said lovingly. "This is Cielo, your sister."
Trishelle turned towards Cielo, took a look at her and asked ignorantly, "Oh. Which orphanage is she from?"
