Chapter 1 - The Beggining

Modern day(Year 2019):

Allen was your average Joe, with above average looks and about 24 years of age. Blond hair, green eyes type of guy, though physically well built. He weighed about 85kg(about 187pounds) at 1.85m(About 6 foot) with roundish face and a gruff beard. Though due to his personality he had a hard time making friends.

He never was particularly rich, in actual fact he just made enough money to live with. Living in a single bedroom flat, in the poor district. Little did he know his life was gonna go in a very bizarre direction.

Same time at Lund University in Sweden:

A woman was standing in front of a group of people, was presenting her thesis and project in front of the world's leading authorities in there respective fields. Her name was Barbara Anning. She was about 30 years of age and had light brown hair, and brown eyes. Average looking lady wearing glasses. She had a look of of a wise person well beyond her age. She was skinny with a weight of about 55kg(about 120 pounds) and a length of 1.65m (about 5'4 feet) .

'We have discovered the fundamental properties that gives as the basis of dark matter. We originally thought that dark matter was non-baryonic by nature, or in lament terms a sub-atomic particle. Yet no evidence was ever found. So with the help of CERN, we decided to go on a different path. We believe that the particles exists beyond our realm.'

One of the older bold men sighed as he heard the preposterous idea, "Look this isn't some fantasy story...could you come back to the science."

'Of course, of course. With the manipulation of different wavelengths and a massive amount of energy we were able to extrapolate a minute amount of actual particles.'

Taking a deep breath she continued, 'It was to insignificant an amount for anything practical. So we decided create a more efficient method for creating what we like to call...a tear.'

She turn around and looks at the massive device and opens her arm wide, 'We call it the project "Jack the ripper"' She then starts distributing UV glasses to everyone. She gently taps on one of the scientists in charge of the of starting the Device, 'Start increasing the power'.

She Turns towards the people watching, 'Today we make history.'

She waits for a few seconds, 'Activate.'

A golden tear starts to form in the massive cylindrical device, as a black miasma slowly creeps out from the tear, with a proud smile she proclaims 'A raging success. The black smoke like substance you see there is Dark Matter. With this we just proved that dark matter works in conjunction with atomic particles but on a different material state. It would even explain why electrons are so erratic. This discovery will allow us to create a new form of energy that will break oh so many rules."

Some of the peers started whispering to each other while other's nodded. A brown haired man with gray streaks stepped forward, 'This is indeed a discovery bigger then the discovery of electricity. You and your team have indeed stepped into the annuls of history. Congratulations.' , he shakes her hand vigorously.

One of the scientist walks up to Anning and whispers something into her ear. A slight frown appears on Anning's face, 'Have you checked the telemetry?'

'Yes ma'am, there is an output of almost at 4.34 petajoules, an hour.' Her face goes ashen with the news, and in a whisper she says, 'Have you switched of the machine yet?'. He nods in confirmation

This meant the machine was self sustaining somehow, she had absolutely no explanation for it, 'Alright start the evacuation process, and contact the authorities, and have them clear the area around for about ten miles.'

She calmly turns to the people in the room, 'It seems we have some technical difficulties, this is to be expected. We will ask everyone to adjourn for today. Please this way.'

She beckons everyone to follow her opening the door for them, shaking everyone's hand as they pass through, getting a congratulation or a nod from everyone as they shake.

As everyone has left she starts working on the device trying to get the machine to shut down, she quickly looks at the telemetry data 'Its doubled again? What the hell is going on!?' Severe dread started to form in her chest, 'If this goes on, the entire city will be destroyed!'

She stares at the tear that has already doubled in size, 'What have we...I done?'. She collapses onto the ground and keeps staring at the miasma that keeps pouring out.

One of the scientists burst through the door, 'What the hell are you still doing here Barbara?! We've gotta go now!'

She looks at him with eyes of intense regret, 'Even if we try to run it would be too late...the entire city is going to be caught up in the detonation...'

'What?...but...how...I have a f*cking family in this city!!!'

'Call them...It might be the last time you will hear them.' Tears starts rolling down her face, as she takes out her phone, 'Of course there is no signal.' She both laughs and cries at the same time.

A sudden Flash erupts from the crack, from space a person could see a perfect half sphere detention of pure energy engulfing the entirety of Switzerland wiping it out from the face of the earth. At the same time a black miasma in a perfect doughnut pours forth from the detonation area, constantly moving outwards at ten times the speed of sound.

Around the world people sees the black mass coming but no one can escape it, especially when its started moving outwards into space.

Somewhere Allen just paid for some bread he bought at the local grocer, but for some reason he felt really tired, and just drifted of to sleep, at the exact same time 69 other individuals started to experience the exact same phenomenon.
