Yun Jinghan studied her expression with inscrutable eyes. He wanted to joke around but seeing her wariness, he became serious.
"I didn't. I saved you." He told her.
Luo Jingyi looked at him dubiously, not wanting to believe him.
"How did you save me?"
"You want to know?" He gestured her to move closer.
Ignoring the glint of mischief in his eyes, Jingyi leaned forward with curiosity. The man whispered, "Secret. I don't want to tell you."
Luo Jingyi gaped at his nonsenseness. Why can't he be serious? She doesn't have time to play around. She needed to know what happened next after passing out. Where was she brought to? Who wanted to harm her?
Puffing her hair that has covered her line of sight, she asked politely, "Can you be serious? What happened?"
The man opened his bag and handed her a tablet. While she was sleeping, K2 sent the file before he deleted all the video surveillance at that particular time. All that transpired fell to Jingyi's eyes. Only then did she believe the man completely.
Who sent these two men?
"Do you recognize them?" The man's question startled her trance.
"No. Who are they? "
"Members of BlackWhite Gang."
"Why did they abduct me?"
"How would I know?" He asked with a wink.
Jingyi scowled at him. She doesn't understand him. One moment he was serious, the next he was irritating. Whereas Yun Jinghan was grinning from ear to ear again, seeing her expression.
'How cute.' He thought. But if he kept doing this, she will misunderstand him. So he cleared his throat and told her what K2 found out.
"They received orders to kill you but never disclosed who sent them. Are you sure you don't know them?" Yun Jinghan omitted the fact that the two bit their tongue and killed themselves before K2 could interrogate them.
Luo Jingyi studied the two faces however nothing pops out. She's bad at names but she remembers faces once she'd seen them.
"I'm certain." She answered.
Who sent them? While she was pondering on it, a very ugly sound was heard inside the car. It was Jingyi's stomach complaining that her last meal had been 30 hours ago.
…
Yun Jinghan drove back to the city. He sent a message to K2, telling him he was hungry. The usual one- hour trip took only half because it was early in the morning. The roads weren't busy as usual. When Yun Jinghan pulled over in front of an upscale restaurant, he got off and walked to the passenger's seat to open the door for her but to his dismay, she had already jumped out of the car and was walking away. He couldn't help scratching his head and followed her.
Luo Jingyi pushed the doors open and she was greeted by the scent of food being cooked in the kitchen. The first thing that attracted her attention was the paintings which added colors and vibrancy to the paleness of the wall. She sauntered closer and studied them with interest.
"That one is my favorite. It's from a budding artist." He stepped closer to her side.
Luo Jingyi felt uncomfortable with the proximity so she took away her eyes from the black horse on the painting and moved further away from him.
But the man followed and pulled a chair for her. The table covered with expensive linen was next to the floor to ceiling glass windows which gives a view of the garden. This is one of her favorite restaurants in the city. She was well aware of their business hours and how difficult it was to get a booking. For it to be open at this time… Luo Jingyi surmised that the man's identity wasn't simple.
Luo Jingyi was unable to restrain herself not to glance at him. His face reminded her of the mystery guy she once saw in the palace. But she was certain the original body has no memories of meeting him and even when she occupied this body, their paths never crossed until yesterday, when he helped her with the pregnant woman. But why does it feel that she knows him? It's really weird.
She stared at him, noting that he seemed to have that kind of face that would stop any woman in her tracks and make her knees turn weak. In contrast to his dark eyebrows that give off the serious vibe, there was always that playful arc drawn on his lips. She noticed earlier that when he smiles, two shallow dents appear on his cheeks. Good-looking would be an overused word to describe his appearance. Because he was way beyond that.
Devastatingly handsome? Came a reply in her head.
Luo Jingyi shrugged her shoulders. What does his appearance get to do with me?
"Good-looking?" The man bent closer. The distance between his and her face was only an inch.
"Oh please!" She waved her hand in dismissal and rolled her eyes simultaneously.

Raven's Gourmet doesn't open till 11. But because of Yun Jinghan, it opened its doors early in the morning. Yu Qing, who was forcibly awoken by the distressed K2 was in the kitchen with a petulant expression plastered all over his face. If it wasn't for Yun Jinghan, he wouldn't have uprooted himself from the arms of the woman he spent the night with. It was a sheer amount of restraint that stop his urge to hit K2 on his face when he stormed inside the hotel room. Since the mirrored wall at the bar gives him an ample view of the two people waiting at the table, his gaze was locked on the woman with curiosity. He didn't get a glimpse of her face last night so he wanted to see for himself who managed to make him break one of his principles. Yun Jinghan could be charming in front of women but he knew better. It was just a mask. The truth was his friend's heart was like a big ice block, hard and cold.
...
After filling in her empty stomach, Yun Jinghan drove Luo Jingyi home. She was ruminating on how to return the favor she owes him for stopping the attempt to her life. She couldn't think of any except money. So when the car stopped in front of a 35 story building, Jingyi told the man, "Send me the bill. I'll pay whatever saving me had cost you."
The man's eyes dimmed dangerously for a second. "I'm expensive Dr. Luo. "
"It doesn't matter. I can afford." came her reply before she got off the car and sauntered to her apartment building.
