Chapter 1 - Everyday Life! Or Not!?

It is 6 am on a fine summer morning and an orange glow was slowly starting to fill the sky, the bright light soon overpowered the small ball of light I was using as my light source during my sword skills training in an empty field near the forest where my home is. I have been practicing swordsmanship for about 2 hours by now following tradition from what my Master Helios had instructed back when he used to teach me. I avoid using flashy magic before the sun rises here because it releases a lot of sounds and is very bright causing fear in the villagers so I go deep into the forest to hunt some magical beasts while I practice my magic.

[Gravity Magic- Suppression], after I restrain the Fanged Sheep with my magic I cut their heads off. These sheep aren't very difficult to kill and their wool is useful in various clothing as well. When a herd of them gathers together they trample the fields and eat all the crops, so we get paid to kill them and if we carry their bodies and sell them to the adventurers guild we can even earn extra money.

Oh, come to think of it, I completely forgot to tell who I am. My name is Red was born in the Dracrys Kingdom. My name is derived from the Guardian of our bloodline, the Red Dragon Emperor who during a major monster crisis over 700 years ago saved the City governed by my family where he had fallen in love with my great ancestor Aoi, who was the greatest Water Mage of all time which made it very ironic. I am a descendant of that great lineage.

I just turned 15 last year and am finally an independent adult. Currently, I am on a trial to explore everything and build connections while also experiencing things without using the family name which is a tradition. To earn money and train I kill and sell monsters and their carcasses to the guild who buy them. To have enough money to live without any problems I generally aim to kill 50 slimes(different kinds), 40 goblins, 30 kobolds, 20 sheep and 10 Fox Bears each week other than the other kind of monster's I use for training purposes.

Coming to money, I choose them because they sell for the same amount regardless of the market and they don't attract much attention they sell for 10 Aurum per slime, 50 Aurums per Goblin, 100 Aurum per Kobold, 500 Aurum per sheep, 750 Aurum per Fox Bear. Oh, that reminds me of the currency we follow here is Aurum, and the progression goes as such-

1 Aurum

Small Aurum which is equivalent to 10 Aurum

Medium Aurum=100 Aurum

Large Aurum= 500

Heavy Aurum=1000

Mercantile Aurum=10,000

There are also Mithril Aurum- 100,000A and Behemoth Aurum-1 Million A but those aren't used in daily transactions and are generally used only used when buying a house, or for trades of high denominations between merchants. Above which is Continental Aurum which is equivalent to 10 Million A, which is used between Kings(Kingdoms) for large transactions and isn't available to even lower-class nobles.

So after selling those material's I earn about 23,000 A per week, it costs 100A to stay in the high-class inn I live in but because I rent it for a month at a time, it costs 2500 A for an entire month which is a great deal especially when breakfast by the InnKeeper is inclusive in it. Oh, by the way, there are 7 days a week and 360 days in a year.

'Thwack', oh I almost got too lost in my thought process. That was the last one for today it is afternoon now. I thought as I put those the last body in my subspace storage, although I have multiple storage spaces for different need's this one has its time stopped so I can keep it in there without it going bad indefinitely, I decided to go somewhere for lunch first and then later to the guild to sell today's haul. Oh, just in case you didn't know, I currently am a D-class adventurer there are 8 ranks for adventurers from A to G, and Special class as S. Currently there are only 5 S-class Adventurers all of whom are strong being's who have unlocked their 8th Circle and are classified as Masters.

According to the history of our nation, after the Golden age which was 5000 years ago after which human beings as creatures almost got exterminated by Silver metallic creatures who only sought the destruction of everything. They were somehow driven out by the combined efforts of multiple 9th circle experts, who died while casting a seal on this planet and since then there hasn't been a single human 9th circle Master to date.

Circle's are the concentrations of Mana and after you have gathered enough Mana and purified it to an extent you can create a Circle, we as humans have weak bodies so we need to temper our bodies more than other races to concentrate more Mana to create stronger circle's. Once you have created these Circle's you can't alter it any longer potentially harming your future potential. This creates a vicious circle, humans take so long in gathering enough Mana to create another Circle that they don't waste time in concentrating it but just enough to acquire it, which increases their potential lifetimes.

Normal lifetime is 50-60 years but after the 4th circle, their potential lifetime will increase to 80, 5th circle- 100, 6th circle- 150, 7th circle- 200, 8th circle- 300.

['DING DONG'] I immediately straighten up with caution as the warning bell from my Information Magic rang, I opened my [Information Magic- World Map] with haste and see 6 Red dots and 1 Blue dot, around 500m away from me. The size of the dots corresponds to the danger/strength level of the opponent relative to me, and the blue dot(/s vitality) was rapidly getting smaller. I thought that it looks like I need to take a detour, as I accelerated towards the location displayed on my Map.
