Mark was only able to sleep when he confirmed that Jenna is already asleep. It took him a while before he stopped thinking of why she is acting this way. He tried to recall the events. Everything was fine until they were in the guest room. He only joked about the noise. She has never been offended on this. They love talking dirty with each other. Because of this he woke up without Jenna beside him. He suddenly stood and rushed out of the room.
Jenna and Pam were talking over cup of coffee. The breakfast spread is ready, in fact this can be called brunch as it is already 10am. They were surprised to see him rushing as if trying to catch something.
"Babe~" Jenna was smiling at him. For some reasons when he felt that Jenna was not beside him when he woke up, he had the bad feeling that she left. "Morning! Coffee?" She seems to be in her usual self. Mark rubbed his eyes feeling awkward that he suddenly rushed outside the room.
"I'll wash first." He just smiled.
"You guys are weird! See that reaction on Mark's face? Something happened last night?" Pam was probing.
"I don't know." Jenna feigned ignorance. "He was already asleep when I entered the room. What's wrong with his face, he is like that when he wakes up."
As if the two guys spoke to each other, they entered the dining area together. They sat with their respective better half. Tim gave Pam a kiss on her head before sitting down while Mark kissed Jenna on her cheeks.
Pam stood to get Tim a cup of freshly brewed coffee. When she put the cup beside Tim, she noticed Mark was not moving so she asked, "are you having coffee Mark?"
"I'll get it." He gave her a quick smile.
However, Jenna stood up and took him a cup of coffee before he or Pam could react. She also put in half teaspoon sugar and some milk, "here.'
Tim thought about what Pam has discussed with her last night and so he started the conversation. "You overslept bro, are you adjusting?"
"You are my role model, weren't you up late too?" He decided not to think dirty as he was suspecting this caused Jenna's sudden irritation last night he is afraid she would suddenly burst out.
"I was up 5am." This time it's Pam who feigned ignorance on the discussion. Reacting prematurely may put her on spot.
"Aren't you too young to have this sign?" Jenna interjected. She cannot let Tim bully Mark and so she will find a way to entangle Pam.
"Sign?"
"Old people are awake unusually early and could no longer sleep."
"Nope, I had to work on something early in the morning." He answered straightforward.
Even if Pam is not talking, her face betrayed her. She looked pale. Early in the morning, Tim was working on her. She thought she was having a dream that Tim is kissing her and pounding on her, but it was for real, early in the morning! When he said tomorrow, he was not even considering the time of the day. The good thing is he, kept his word of just doing it one round and let her sleep after.
Jenna had a smile that she is controlling. She then placed foo don Mark's plate. This did not escape Pam; she thought Jenna is probably laughing inside picking up the meaning of the 'work' that Tim said.
She retaliated without the intention of hitting the sore spot! "Wow I didn't know Jenna can be this attentive." He was trying to divert the attention.
"I have always been like this!" She took a sip of her coffee after making this declaration as Mark remained quiet and started to eat the food that Jenna placed on his plate.
"Oh, I don't think Mark is convinced." Before Pam continued, Jenna was already thinking of an escape having a gut feel on what she was about to say next. "Maybe you need to work double time sis. He looked unhappy."
Jenna suddenly stood, "I forgot we got something for you and Tim, let me take it."
Mark stopped from chewing, usually Jenna will never retreat on discussion like this. She will fight back with Pam; she is that naughty. Mark looked at Pam and Tim perplexed.
Pam grab this opportunity to ask Mark she could no longer resist, "Mark did you two fight? Jenna is acting weird since last night. Did you see that? I never win in her with words. She just escaped!"
"Oh, I just learned about this, so Jenna can easily bully you huh?"
"Are you going to train your wife to bully my wife? I have been letting you bully me all through out our friendship. Good grief! We are even. Leave her alone"
"Since when did you marry her? How come I didn't know?" Tim commented.
"When are you getting married or are you married now?" Pam asked with excitement.
"We have been together like husband and wife, I asked her to marry me before she was hesitant. I told her I will wait when she is ready."
"My friend, you seemed to have grown more stupid these days. I think I know why your 'wife' is acting strange." Tim put a lot of stress in the word wife. He then looked at Pam, "and you are partly to be blamed."
"Why me?"
Mark was glaring at him, "Do you honestly think you should wait? Wait for what? For her to tell you that she is ready. Isn't that stupid?"
"So why am I partly to be blamed?"
"My Queen, you look so blissful married with me."
Pam hugged Tim, "I still don't get it." She almost forgot she is front of Mark and so she quickly retreated when she realized this. It was a eureka moment for Pam. She seemed to be unaware of her action.
It was a eureka moment for Mark as well. So, she may have seen how happy Pam is and this possibly caused stirred some of her emotion. It was stupid of him to wait for Jenna to tell her she is ready to marry him. Even if she is frank and candid, it is unlikely she will bring this up. He knows what to do.
Just in time, Jenna was back with some packs of goodies on her hand.
