Chereads / The Anomaly: Arise / Chapter 9 - Connections From The Other Side

Chapter 9 - Connections From The Other Side

It took almost a week for Eden to gain her consciousness back. The Banshee sisters told her what happened that night based on what was told by Thandiwe(Beast) and Connor(Glass). They went back that night without anyone else with them. Not with Rafael and not with their Mother. They just told the unfortunate news that the house was totally engulfed by flames. Due to the trauma and the enormous stress Eden had experienced, she went mute and no one was able to talk to her not even Tobi.

"What are we going to do? We can't have her like this." Tobi told the other Anomalies as they gathered their small group in the living area.

"We think.." One of the Banshee sisters said. "We should give her time to talk." They both finished the statement.

"The sisters are right." Anastasia(Pandora) agreed. "It's not easy to lose a sibling and a Mother at the same time."

"True." Medusa agreed as well. "From what I've heard, they also lost their Father not too long before."

"That's right. That's very sad for them." Tobi confirmed. "Specially for her."

"Why are you so dumped?" Glass asked with a grumpy tone. "We told you guys that we didn't find the brother and the mother in the scene so they're likely alive. You all sound like they're already dead."

"So, what are you suggesting?" Pandora asked.

"What he wants to point out is that.." Beast started to explain. "If we have some kind of leads, we can search for them."

"That's a good suggestion." Tobi exclaimed.

"I get that they need to be found but why us?" Medusa raised a fair question. "Why not have the police force take care of that. Looking for missing people is one of their jobs, right?"

"If you think about it," Glass responded. "If the girl is an Anomaly, her family members might be one of us as well. At least that's one theory of the A-gene. Another term for Anomaly genetics."

"You got a point there." Medusa agreed.

 "But how?" The Banshees asked.

"Yes, 'How' is the biggest question here." Pandora said. "No one else from the mansion has an Anomaly suited for searching."

"Our best bet is Beast's echolocation." Glass recommended.

"I get that but it has limited range. It won't be as efficient as we want it to be." Pandora turned it out.

"So how can we help her?" Tobi asked.

"P, you can tap to her mind and see what you can find." Medusa suggested.

"Her mind is too chaotic for me right now, M. Everything in her mind is gibberish." Pandora responded.

Every tick of the clock passed and all of them are not getting any feasible idea on how to help Eden but it's getting harder and harder to plan through things the longer they take. Medusa suggested going back to the area of the incident and looking for things that might help them but Beast and Glass disagreed as the local fire department and the police force had already fenced the area so it wouldn't be easy to roam around. The risk of being known as an Anomaly has also been considered so they won't gamble on that

"Hey guys! You seem to be plotting something big there." Shin(Blast) walked in. "I brought you some snacks. Behold, my own version of fondue!"

"Thanks, Blast! This thinking is making me hungry." Glass said.

"Oh, I forgot the forks. Let me just get those for you." Blast remembered then went back to the kitchen.

Blast is quick to go back to where the group is doing their huddle. Glass couldn't help himself as he created a stick-like glass to eat the snacks. Beast was not able to wait for the forks as well as he transformed his arm into crab arms to pick the food up easily. Suddenly, an explosion was heard from where Blast was and several forks were sent flying straight to where Tobi's group was seated. If these were not stopped most of them would be stabbed. Luckily, Medusa, Beast, and Glass have quick reflexes as they deflected and blocked the incoming forks. Medusa used her hair to catch the fork which was about to stab her in the face and she was also able to catch the fork which was headed to one of the Banshee sisters. On the other hand, using his now two transformed crabbed hands, Beast caught the one headed to him and Anastasia. Lastly, Glass was quick to create a glass disc to deflect the forks for him and Tobi.

"What in the world are you doing, Blast?" Beast asked in rage. "Are you trying to get us killed?"

"No. It was an accident." Blast defended himself. "I unintentionally sneezed. I didn't mean to activate my Anomaly.

"Mara!" One of the Banshee sisters screamed as she called out to her sister.

"I'm fine, Clara." The other sister said. Mara happened to be stabbed with a fork in her right arm.

"Oh my god!" Medusa reacted. "I'm sorry. I wasn't able to catch that."

"Look at what you've done!" Glass exclaimed.

"I'm so sorry." Blast responded. "It's an accident. I really didn't mean to."

"We need a first aid kit!" Pandora exclaimed. "Reaper, go get it!"

 "Who? Me?" Tobi(Reaper) asked.

"Yes, you. Go!" Anastasia replied then Reaper sprinted to where a first aid kit might be. He headed to the infirmary.

"We need a healer!" Blast exclaimed. "Anyone?"

"Shut up!" Beast told Blast. "We don't have a healer in the mansion. Just clean that mess up and look for something productive to do." He instructed Blast.

"Where's Reaper? The wound is still bleeding!" Medusa commented. "Should I take the fork out?"

"No, it'll make it worse." Pandora responded. Clara, the other Banshee, couldn't help herself but cry.

"I know. I'm sorry." Medusa commented. "My nervousness is taking over. I'm not just used in seeing blood."

At this point, other Anomalies gathered in the area to see what the commotion was about. Everyone wants to help but they'll just get in the way. As Beast confirmed, no one in the mansion has an Anomaly for healing. One of them has the Anomaly to levitate, the other has the Anomaly to stretch himself to inhumane lengths, the other can talk to animals, etc. No one can help Mara to heal. Some ran to Tobi as he was taking too long to get the first aid kit.

Amidst all the commotion, Eden quietly walked into the living area from somewhere and headed to the sofa where Mara and the others were. She puts her hands on top of Mara's stabbed wounds it's as if she wants to do something about it. Everyone is silenced as they want to witness what will Eden do. Tobi finally went back to the living area with the first aid kit but was also taken aback after seeing Eden. The roots from a plant in a vase nearby started to grow rapidly and reach Mara's wound. Eden looked at Pandora and then Pandora suddenly took out the fork then roots wrapped the wound then it slowly stopped bleeding. After the roots wrapped Mara's wound, it cut off on its own and the rest of them went back to where it came from.

"I think it stopped bleeding." Mara said. "Thank you, Sprite."

"Sprite?" Tobi asked himself but Pandora heard.

"I think the sisters already branded Eden." Pandora commented.

"Thank you, Sprite!" Clara said making the rest of them applause for what they've witnessed but without changing the expression on her poker face, Eden(Sprite) took off slowly and headed to the backyard where no one was around. Eventually, the onlookers dispersed as well and went back to what they were doing.

"I think you should go talk to her." Pandora suggested.

Tobi(Reaper) headed to the backyard to check on Eden(Sprite). He found her in a swing in silence and lost in her own thoughts. Tobi can feel Eden's agony with every deep sigh she makes. He sat on the swing next to her and tried to talk to her so he could at least make her feel safe and make her think that she was not alone. However, he didn't know how to start a conversation having all of those thoughts in mind. He's sitting there as he watches Eden stare at the horizon. Eden suddenly cried.

 "Eden?" Tobi approached her.

"Why was I left alone?" Eden asked. "Don't they love me anymore?"

"Don't think like that, Eden. Of course they love you."

"I saw Raf running away when I was being consumed by this curse and mom, she suddenly disappeared to God knows where when I needed her the most. I should just end my misery right here, right now!" Eden focused her gaze on a nearby tree and its branches moved and suddenly got pointed. The branches shoot towards Eden. She plans to kill herself with her own Anomaly.

"Eden, don't!" Tobi immediately touched her right before the branches impaled her. Tobi immediately thought of acting as a human shield to protect her by hugging her as tightly as he could. Luckily, his Anomaly was unconsciously activated nullifying Eden's Anomaly. The branches stopped from moving rapidly towards them which almost pierced Tobi from the back and they eventually grew back where they originally were.

"How did you do that?" Eden asked in awe.

"You're not the only one with a gift." Tobi answered. He realizes that he is accepting himself as an Anomaly little by little.

"I thought I'm just hallucinating when I saw you stop me that time."

"No. It all happened. We happened. In fact, everyone inside has their own gifts. You'll definitely be surprised once you witnessed them all."

"That's nice to hear. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one. You know Raf and Mom told me that someone like us did something horrible to our family. I was too young at the time so I don't have the memory of experiencing it. Even though that's a known fact, I can't make myself feel hate. I understand Raf's resentment but it doesn't flow through me. Now I know why. I'm one of them."

"Or maybe it's just in your personality. I always thought that you were the more open-minded type than your brother.

"I thought so too actually." The two exchanged laughs. Tobi continued to cheer Eden up to keep her away from negative feelings that were just sitting around the corner. This is to help her move on with life and avoid killing herself using her Anomaly or using something else entirely. Tobi pointed out that what she did earlier is heroic so she should be proud of herself.

"You know what? We're actually planning on looking for Raf and your Mom."

 "Really!? Can I help?"

"Of course you can! Shall we go back inside?"

Both of them went back inside. They headed to where Tobi and the others were originally gathered. The Banshee sisters already left as they dropped by to infirmary to check Mara's wound. They found Medusa not in her original seat as well. They were told that she accompanied Blast to the Professor's office probably to talk about what happened earlier. Pandora(Anastasia) assured them that the Professor would not do anything to Blast. He'll just talk to him.

"Guys! Two unidentified individuals are standing right outside the mansion's gates." Swift reported as he hurriedly came into the living area. He seemed to be doing his rounds.

 "Enemies!?" Beast asked.

"They look ghastly but I think they're not enemies. One of them raised an eyebrow at me right after they saw me. The other waved his hand at me probably as a greeting so regardless of their appearance, I think they are commoners. I can't say if they are non-Anomalies or they're actually one of us. I.." Swift responded as if he was rapping due to how fast he delivered his sentences. The good thing is that almost everyone in the mansion is used to how he speaks. He was suddenly interrupted by Beast.

"Ok, ok. We get it now. They're not enemies." Beast said.

"I wonder what they're doing here." Glass commented.

The Professor suddenly goes down to the living area along with Blast from his office with a somewhat positive aura oozing from him. He announced that they have visitors and they will act as their mentors. Some were shocked in disappointed due to the fact that having a mentor meant having to study which some of them didn't want to do. Some were excited because of the exact opposite.

"Swift, please do accompany our guests here." The Professor asked.

"May we know who they are, Professor?" Glass raised an inquiry.

"Pandora? I'm certain you already know the answer." The Professor commented. The Professor already had the idea that Anastasia(Pandora) already tapped into the visitors' thoughts.

"All I know is that they're non-Anomalies. I don't want to dig deeper." She responded.

"That's quite alright." The Professor said.

"But, Professor? What are non-Anomalies doing here in the mansion?" Beast asked.

"You'll know soon enough." The Professor said.

"Are they connected to the army? Did they already know some information about us?" Glass asked slightly alarmed.

"Calm down, child. They'll tell you why they're here. I can assure you that they're allies." The Professor pointed out.

Swift and the visitors finally went inside the mansion and into the living area where the Professor and the others were huddling. The group was mesmerized as they initially saw a gorgeous woman with long pitch-black wavy hair. She walks so elegantly that almost every guy in the lobby is mesmerized but she has this intimidating glare which indicates that she's a tough one. They then saw a guy walk in. They immediately thought that he was a smart one because of the glasses and the somewhat lab coat he was wearing. He appeared to be a bubbly one as he smiled and waved at everyone new he saw. They also noticed that he was carrying two Baton sticks from each of his sides. The ones that are being used in Arnis, a kind of martial art that commonly uses sticks as weapons. The Professor started to greet the guests.

"Welcome Mr. Simmons, Ms. Nazarova." The Professor said as he hugged them.

"Thank you, Professor. Please call me Zythandra." The lady said with a soothing tone of voice. If you think that Anastasia is the sweetest talker, this lady rivals her with that.

"Sir, call me Calcipher." The man said.

"Alright. Kids, meet your mentors. This beautiful lady here is Ms. Zythandra Nazarova. She's from Proud Russia. To my left is the bright Mr. Calcipher Simmons. He's from New America." The Professor introduces the guests as the rest of the bunch gathered in the living area.

"Guys, Ms. Nazarova is such an eye candy! I think I'm perfect for a teacher's pet." Blast whispered to the group as he was eyeing their lady guest.

"Shut up, Blast. You're talking nonsense again." Glass whispered back at Blast then turned to Beast all of a sudden. "But you agree that she's an eye candy. Right, Beast?" He asked and Beast nodded in agreement.

"Cut the chit-chat. The Professor's talking." Anastasia said.

"Are they one of us?" One of the Anomalies asked as he raised his hand. It seemed like it was the guy who could levitate. They missed what Anastasia said earlier as their group just come in.

"No. They're non-Anomalies." The Professor answered.

"So, what will they teach us if they don't have Anomalies of their own? Another Anomaly asked. This seemed to be the one who could stretch his limbs to inhumane lengths.

"They'll teach you things children at your age would normally learn. To cut it short, you'll study. You'll all be the students and these good people here will be your teachers. Think of me as your principal." The Professor explained.

"What!? Why!?" Glass explained and some others agreed with him. "How would that do good to us? Can't we just train ourselves so we can master our Anomalies?" He pointed out.

"I think the Professor wants to do here is.." Anastasia started to explain. "He wants us to learn like the non-Anomalies so we can still stay well educated not just on how we control ourselves but on the general knowledge as well. I didn't have to read his mind to know that."

"That's surprisingly accurate, Pandora." The Professor commended her. "Just like what she said, I will not deprive you of learning and nurturing your Anomalies. This will help you enhance your knowledge in what's happening outside."

"Fine. I'll get along with it." Glass finally gave in.

"Since they'll be mentoring us in various subjects, don't you think it's too much for them to handle those on their own? I know that you've entrusted the task to them but it's not making me feel at ease on their stead." Anastasia said.

"Oh, don't worry about us, missy." Zythandra proudly responded. "Worry about yourselves."

"Yeah." Calcipher agreed. "You're putting your worries on the wrong side of the boat here."

"So, what will you guys teach us?" Tobi asked.

"Let me recall." Zythandra said as she started to think. "I'll deal with Literature, Language, Music, History, Arts and some other stuff."

"Wow." Most of the Anomalies reacted. "That's too much!" Some said.

"How 'bout you, Mr. Calcipher?" Tobi raised a follow-up question.

"Oh, me? I'll just tackle two major subjects. Namely, Science and Mathematics." Calcipher announced and most of the Anomalies were relieved by the fact that he'll only teach two subjects compared to the handful of subjects from Zythandra. "Science and its branches. Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc. and other kinds of Mathematics such as Algebra, Geometry, Calculus and some other things."

The crowd went silent as their agony from what they'd heard ate them whole. No one would've thought that they'd be studying different branches of just two basic subjects. The fact that they will be handled by only two mentors is dumbfounding enough. Both of them and the Professor have confirmed that the study sessions will not start right away as both of the mentors need to come up with their lesson plans first. They said that it'll most likely start within the next month or two. Obviously, this statement was a cause for celebration for most of the Anomalies.

"I have one last question." Thandiwe(Beast) said. "Since we'll eventually study, how will we squeeze in our training sessions in our schedule?" He asked.

"We already got that noted." Zythandra commented. "We'll work with the Professor for the schedules so I'm positive that our training sessions will not get compromised."

"We already got a proposal that we can focus on our training sessions on weekends so we can focus on your studies during weekdays but that's just a proposal. We'll still see what will transpire in the next couple of weeks." Calcipher added.

"Excuse me." Thandiwe reacted. "OUR training sessions?" He emphasized.

"Yes. Our training sessions." Zythandra confirmed. Calcipher nodded in agreement.

"No offense but how will you supervise our training if both of you don't have Anomalies of your own?" Glass asked as he barged into the discussion.

"Discipline. Accuracy. Efficiency. Those are some of the aspects that we'll teach you." Zythandra said.

"I feel like your underestimating our skills here. Would you like to test it out?" Calcipher asked.

"I think you shouldn't." Anastasia commented.

"I'll go first." Zythandra said as she stepped forward. "You. You with the tattoos. Step forward please." She pointed at Thandiwe.

"Me? Are you sure?" Thandiwe reacted but he stepped forward anyway.

"Yes, I'm sure." Zythandra responded she then took on her attack stance.

"I would be serious if I were you." Calcipher commented.

"Professor, do you think that this is necessary?" Anastasia asked the Professor as she was feeling uneasy about it.

"Let them be, child." The Professor responded. "Let our guests show what they're capable of."

Then, Zythandra and Thandiwe exchanged intense glares at each other as they tried to read their opponent and decide who would strike first. Calcipher is cheering Zythandra while the rest of them are rooting for Thandiwe. Thandiwe started to transform his arms into gorilla arms and the cheers for him intensified but before he finished his transformation, Zythandra made her first move as well. She rushed to where he was standing and she quickly placed herself at his back. She did a quick leg trip against Thandiwe then she used the opportunity to throw him hard to the ground. He was thrown so hard that his transformation was interrupted.

The cheers were slightly shifted to Zythandra as Thandiwe was left lying on the ground. Thandiwe didn't waste any time as he immediately transformed his arm into a python. He instantaneously made a sneak attack on her while she was probably not aware of it. His snake arm charged to bite her from her blind spot but with Zythandra's quick reflexes, she was able to notice the attack. As he missed his target, Zythandra grabbed the transformed python arm of his in quick succession and pulled it hard making Thandiwe get up from the ground and pull towards her. Just a few inches before they collide, Zythandra kicked his stomach making him fall to the ground once again in pain. This made Thandiwe decommissioned. After this quick match, everyone went silent for a while but the onlookers cheered on and this time, they were for Zythandra.

"We're done now right?" Zythandra said. Thandiwe couldn't respond properly as he was taken by Tobi to the infirmary.

Whispers from the crowd are starting to be heard. Talks like why Thandiwe lost to a non-Anomaly, especially to a female went on. Everyone is dumbfounded by what they've witnessed. At that point, they knew that she was definitely skilled, and having that said, the guy probably was too. It was not a drop of sweat for Zythandra as she walked back to where she stood. Calcipher stepped forward as if he wanted to show what he got as well.

"Nice one, Z. I guess it's my turn now." Calcipher said cheerfully as he stepped forward.

"Move. I'll take this one." Glass stepped forward.

"I think they've made their point. You can stop now." Anastasia reacted but no one responded to her due to all the hype.

"I admire your bravery." Calcipher commented. "How long do you think you'll last?"

"Where's your jolly personality have gone?" Glass asked. "I hope your words are sharper than your fighting style."

"I didn't mean to be harsh. I hope you'll go easy on a non-Anomaly like me." Calcipher said.

"I won't be fooled by your antics!" Glass declared. "We should probably go somewhere spacious. This might get messy."

"Oh, you're really taking this seriously. That's fun!" Calcipher commented but eventually, all went to the mansion's wide fields to achieve the space that Glass asked for.

"Brace yourself because I will not hold back." Glass said. Before the match starts, he put the onlookers in one area and created a wall of glass for their protection. Glass really is planning to go all out here.

"Come." Calcipher provoked his opponent as he took his attack stance with his batons.

Without another second to waste, Glass immediately created dozens of hovering sharp discs around him very much like he did last time at the Inoue's while fighting those dark figures. Everyone was amazed at what they were seeing because it was the first time they saw Glass create this many discs. Glass shot discs to his opponent one by one but as he expected, his discs were being deflected or being shattered by Calcipher using his batons effortlessly. It's a good thing that Glass made a sturdy glass wall that serves as a shield to the onlookers against the shattered glass.

Glass thought of upping his offense right away to end it once and for all. He now shoots discs to Calcipher several discs at a time. This definitely increased the difficulty of the situation but Calcipher upped his defense as well. Calcipher was way quicker in using his batons to shatter Glass' flying discs and the most annoying thing for Glass is that Calcipher is not moving from where he's standing. All he's doing is deflecting the incoming discs or shattering them effortlessly and it seems that he's having a good time doing it as he wears a huge smile on his face. This went on for several minutes but Glass suddenly stopped attacking as he realized that nothing happening and he needed to think of another way to defeat the guy.

"Woah, what happened?" Calcipher asked. "You ran out of juice already? Oh well, my turn." He finally moved away to where he was standing and rushed towards Glass to make his first strike. Glass wasn't able to react on time and he got a blow to his stomach with Calcipher's batons. This made him fall to his knees.

"Glass, get up!" Medusa yelled from the other side of the glass wall. Glass was sure to stand on his feet again.

"I'm very impressed of what you've shown me so far." Calcipher commended Glass. "But I think that's all you can offer for now so you may take your rest." Just right after Glass stood up, Calcipher happened to be standing right behind him. Calcipher swung his baton to Glass' head making him fall to the ground unconscious and this finally settled the match. Glass was also defeated by a non-Anomaly.

"Reaper, please take Glass to the infirmary as well." The Professor asked Tobi as he just got back from the infirmary by accompanying Thandiwe.

"No problem." Tobi doesn't have any choice but to gladly follow.

"Everyone, we may go back inside now. The match has concluded." The Professor said and all of them went back to the lobby all cheers to their guests because of their wins against the top brawlers of the mansion. The Professor, the guests, Anastasia, Medusa, and Blast were the only ones left in the lobby while the rest of the Anomalies had gone to their own business.

"Professor, I have an inquiry myself." Zythandra said. "We've read every file about all the Anomalies living in the mansion but we noticed some new faces."

"Yeah. We noticed the girl who was left alone at the swings and the other guy who accompanied Beast and Glass to the infirmary." Calcipher pointed out.

The Professor explained their situation to the guests. From their normal life to the discovery of their Anomalies. Both Zythandra and Calcipher acknowledged their struggles. Each of them has a different take on the matter. Calcipher understands that the two may need to have a lot more time to recover so he proposed to not include them in the mentorships but on the other hand, Zythandra pointed out that they should be occupied with something else to make these negative experiences be put at bay. Regardless of Calcipher's thoughts, the Professor wishes to include them since he believes that they can overcome these emotions in no time.

"By the way Mr. Professor, sir." Calcipher said.

"What is it my friend?" The Professor responded.

"I'm quite fascinated on the fact that you're an Anomaly too like these other kids here and knowing that you can heal yourself in increased speeds unlike normal individuals made me more fascinated. Can you demonstrate that to us?" Calcipher asked the Professor.

"Calcipher. Don't be so rude!" Zythandra said wanting Calcipher to shut his mouth.

"I suppose that's fine by me." The Professor said.

"Do you really have to it, Professor?" Anastasia commented.

"The Professor said it's fine, Pandora. Besides, I'm also curious about the Professor's Anomaly. I think I haven't seen him use it yet." Blast said.

"Medusa, can you do me a favor? Please stab me using your hair." The Professor made a request to Medusa. It was obvious that the ladies were hesitant to witness this as they were startled hearing this request. On the other hand, the guys became very excited.

 "Professor?" Medusa responded in shock.

"I think you've made your point, sir. We're good with it." Zythandra commented.

"Don't be such a killjoy. He will not die or something because of his Anomaly you know." Blast is still pushing Medusa to do it.

"You can just close your eyes while you stab him. That might help." Calcipher also encourages Medusa.

"Fine." Medusa seemed to be persuaded. Her hair started to form like a blade with a very sharp tip then she started aim to at the Professor as she prepared to pierce him. However, just before she does it, she stops. "Sorry. I really can't."

 "What a bummer." Blast commented.

"That's alright, Medusa. Don't feel bad." The Professor consoled Medusa.

"I guess we'll see you demonstrate your Anomaly some other time, sir." Calcipher commented.

 "Thank goodness." Anastasia said.

"Oh. By the way, how did you guys meet the Professor? I'm just curious." Blast asked their guests.

"I can say that it's very long story for the both of us." Zythandra said.

"Let me see. How did I meet the Professor?" Calcipher started to recall his memories. "Oh, yeah. It's a long story. All I can say for now is that I am a well-known researcher/scientist in the underground community and one day, the Professor barged in, we talked, he offered me a job then I accepted and Viola! Here I am." He explained briefly.

"WOW! You're a researcher? That's amazing. How about you, miss?" Blast said.

"I'm an experienced assassin." Zythandra commented and no other details were shared.

"Wait, what!?" Medusa responded as she, Anastasia, and Blast were taken aback by that statement.

"That's true. We'll skip the details for now. They plan to share it with everyone once the mentorship starts." The Professor confirmed.

"THAT IS SO AMAZING!" Blast responded in excitement. "I'm so ready to train with you guys!"

"Calm down, Blast. You don't want to anger them." Anastasia commented.

"That's fine. We're excited too." Calcipher said.

"You should be excited. We're planning to have the study sessions be as calm.." Zythandra explains but Calcipher barged in.

 "And fun!" He said.

"Fine. Calm and fun as possible." Zythandra finished her statement. "But, our training sessions may get very unpleasant so be prepared." She added then Anastasia, Medusa, and Blast went silent.

"Never mind. I'm not looking forward to it anymore." Blast responded.

"I'm back! What did I miss?" Tobi said as he came back from the infirmary.

"How are Beast and Glass?" Anastasia asked.

"I think it's nothing serious. They just passed out. They're resting now." Tobi responded.

"Hey hey hey. Did you know that Calcipher and Zythandra are hardcore?" Blast excitedly said.

"Really? How come?" Tobi asked then Blast told him their occupation before they become their mentors. "No way!"

"Alright. Enough with the talks for now kids. Let's have our guests take their rests." The Professor said.

"Good call, sir. I'm starting to get fuzzy." Calciphed agreed.

"I can use some time alone as well." Zythandra commented.

"By the way, I might've forgot to notify you kids but both of them will be living here with us so I hope you'll all get along." The Professor stated.
