I stared out of the window, trying my best not to feel sorry for me or to anyone who got involved in things that are yet to discover. I do not know why we're involved in this but somehow even when you're a good guy, shit like this—bad shit happens. It happens to everyone and even though we do not want to get involved, we are destined to be in such bizarre things and events that will occur. I do not know exactly when did this all started but I only got involved now and I know it's only the beginning but I'm exhausted and not knowing who to trust is just sad which makes me more exhausted.
"Kai just assumed that you're poisoned? Do you think so too, Lu?" He ran his fingers through his hair while sighing, looking down at the floor because of not knowing how to react to what I told him then he looks at me. "I mean, he could be right, Lu..." He stood up from his chair and started to walk back and forth, panicking as he stays quiet for a second. "This is fucking serious, Lu. What if he's right? What else can they possibly do to you? What's more? They can't be fucking serious! Why would they even do that to you when you did nothing wrong?"
I shrugged. "Stop overreacting. This isn't helping our situation at all. Just sit down and relax."
He glared at me but listened, he stops pacing and walks towards me, sitting down next to me on the bed instead of the chair. "Fine, then let's solve this problem, shall we?" He sarcastically said but I did not comment on it. "Who are you with when you ate?"
Of course, when he asked that my whole face paled and I couldn't answer in the first few seconds. I just stared at him while he stares back at me, waiting very patiently for my answer as I momentarily paused. I don't know why I couldn't answer. Because even though the answer was with sapphire, I could claim that he wasn't the one who did it but I couldn't testify it. So maybe that's why I couldn't answer because I want to prove it myself first before anybody could do anything or maybe even find out. I don't wanna tell Ace.
"No one." I finally answered with a very neutral voice and acting as if I don't have a fucking clue about it so I looked at him for a few seconds as if manipulating him into believing my answer.
But he didn't back out with the challenge because he stared back at me. "No one at all?" He asked again, confirming and I wish he just drops it.
"Yes, no one." I looked out of the window after I finally broke the intense eye contact and refrained myself from sighing because I couldn't be more obvious now.
"You're hiding something from me." He states, calmly while looking out the window as well.
"How can you tell?" I fired back, instead of confirming it.
I glanced at him and the same way I did, he did too, and our eyes catch each other. He moved and shuffled closer to me before placing his palm on either side of my cheeks then he rubbed his thumb gently, against my skin. "Well, no matter what it is. I'm sure you have a good reason why you're hiding it. Just be careful, alright?"
I nodded at him and finally released that sigh I was containing inside. Then a thought went inside my mind and it is embarrassing for me so automatically, my cheeks redden and I immediately looked anywhere but him. He chuckled as if knowing I have something embarrassing in mind but I just couldn't tell him.
"Don't fucking laugh at me, Ace!" I exclaimed in my defense but that only made his chuckle turn into a loud laugh. Like the exaggerating man that he is.
"Just go on! Tell me!" He said but I'd rather not reveal anything. And when I didn't say anything, he smiled at me and placed a kiss on my forehead.
"Okay, relax. Just calm down before you get worse again."
But I can't calm down, not when everything is at stake and I still haven't got a single clue to what's happening in this place. As of now, it's better to be anxious than calm because it can be a serious problem if not.
