Chapter 7 - The Murals

Zero continued on his path, quietly observing the writings and murals all over the tunnel walls. He stops in front of one particular mural that deeply catches his attention.

"What.....i-is....place?", difficultly asked Zero, his voice still hoarse and his lips dry. He raised his trembling hand and points up at the mural, "W-wha.....that?". (trans.: "What is this place?" and "What is that?")

Although circulating his Mana helped in healing his external wounds, it doesn't eased the fatigue and internal pain his entire body is feeling. But even so, his will was strong for a boy his age, and it doesn't stop his curiosity.

The mural depicted half the sun and half the moon with two giant beings circling around it. One giant had a body entirely covered in what seems like white scales with a black mask upon it's face. Both of it's hand reaching towards the sun. The other giant, had a body completely covered in black feathers and a white animal skull with horns as it's head. It's clawed appendages grasping tightly to the moon. Above the picture were writings in some kind of strange language.

" Jin Nakho ki Krehasyon"

Zero could somehow read the writings on the walls, but didn't know what they mean. Azrael noticed the gleam of wonder in Zero's eyes, as well as his strong attraction to the mural, refusing to leave it. The boy may not remember, but Azrael knew full well how curious and stubborn Zero could be. Either wise, they wouldn't have lasted this long if he was weak willed.

"We are currently in the fifth level of the Guardian temple of Valydria. The murals portray the history and beliefs of the Valydrian people", knowing that Zero would not leave until he got what he wanted, Azrael willingly translated, "This particular mural depicts; The End of Creation".

"Wha...sss- it?" having his curiosity fuelled, Zero asked. The wonder in his eyes turning into excitement. The more he looks at the mural, the more he feels that it is something important he needed to know.

Azrael was silent for a while, before he told Zero about the murals on the tunnel walls.

The mural tells of a story, about the goddess of creation, who brought into existence the universe.

She gave birth to two sons. Tyran, whom she formed from her tears, and Raksada, whom was forged from her blood. She allowed her two sons to govern the realm she created.

But there was only one realm and two gods. Tyran and Raksada did not always see eye to eye. There minds and taste were complete opposites of each other, but one thing is the same, they are both narcissistic and competitive in nature. Both believing they are the greatest being the goddess has ever created.

When Tyran, saw the beings living in this realm, he found them particularly good. He imbued them with light and gave them knowledge, molding them in his image. This beings will be called "Tyreans". But Raksada was very displeased with this, he also governs this realm, so why did Tyran not ask for his opinion? Why were the beings his mother made only in Tyran's image?

Raksada decided to take a half of the beings behind his brothers back and change them into his image. Reforging them with darkness and naming them "The Raksens". When Tyran found out, he was deeply enrage, charging straight to Raksada to confront him and demand that he return the beings he took. But of course, Raksada refused to do so.

The two would usually ignore and look down on each other, but for the first time the two brothers fought, claiming that the beings of their image was better than the other and that only those beings are worthy to live in the realm the Goddess created. Neither side wanted to give in, so they agreed on a challenge to see if the Tyreans or the Raksens are truly better than the other.

They both gave orders to their people to wage war with the other. Both Gods are not allowed to interfere in the battle. Whichever from the Tyreans and the Raksens remain in the end will be the rightful beings to live in this realm. Each side had three days and three nights to prepare.

Although the two gods cannot interfere within the battle, they can still reach their hands out before the battle started. With a will that was refusing to lose to his brother Tyran, Raksada altered several of the Raksens.

When the goddess of creation, Eva, first made these beings that live in this realm. She molded then under four principles: The body, the mind, the spirit and the origin. The origin is the power that she used to create life itself, like a battery, it fuels the other three principle. While the other three principles, is like a lock that holds and binds the origins power.

Raksada knows full well of these principles, and knows that although each one cannot function without the other, loosening the hold of one can give access to more of the origin power. Making use of this knowledge, he devided the Raksens into three and altered one of the three binding principle of each group. This changed the Raksens into three new beings, giving them power and abilities they never had before.

But of course, Tyran was also aware of these principles and did the same, hoping to win against his brother with this.

Three days later, the battle officially began and seeing what the other side has done, both the gods were beyond enraged. Claiming that the other side has cheated and that the other has ruined what their mother, Goddess Eva, has created. The two gods bickered and cursed at each other, until both sides could no longer stand the other and began to fight to the death themselves.

Both the gods and the beings under them were fighting. Each side was fierce and unrelenting. They used whatever they can to destroy the other, without realizing the damage they were causing to the realm.

When the goddess Eva realized what was happening, it was already too late. The entire realm shattered, splitting into two halves, creating a gigantic fissure in between.

With the realm broken, everything along with it will be destroyed. The Goddess was heart broken and in order to save whatever was left of her realm, she grabbed her two sons, sealing them away in her body and using their power to stabilize the realm and stop it from breaking further.

Then she used her own existence to fill up the fissure and become a void the connects the two halves.

This was how the two realms: The mortal realm and The Spiritual realm; came to be. This was also how; Creation Ended.

Listening to Azrael telling the story, Zero, followed the murals all the way down the tunnel. Although they seem to be underground, the tunnel was lit by a few glowing stones, embedded on the ceiling. This allowed Zero to properly see each scene of the mural's story.
