Chapter 16 - 16 Eillens Grocer's son

Jackson was glad that they didn't decide to continue the fight, although he was strong now he was actually trying to look like one. He heaved a sigh of relief after seeing them retreat and took a look at his lightning aura which was currently dissipating.

"Ugh, PK huh? I didn't expect to be attacked by other people aside from monsters in this world. What was their purpose of attacking me anyway?" Jackson said as he sat beside the oasis and drank an HP potion.

'Normally players only attack other players if they are in a war zone and they are in a different faction. So considering that they're low level right now, they can't be a member of a faction. Is it money? My equipment?' Jackson thought as he pulled out a jerky out of his inventory and ate it.

While he was thinking about the reason why he was attacked, some of the monsters started to go to his location, because of the stench of the blood which was currently dying the sands. The bandits already brought the corpses of their comrades with them but the remaining blood that was spilled was still in there.

He spotted some of the desert hounds on the horizon heading his way, although in the game desert hounds wasn't located in this location. Their spawn point was still near the red garlies, and this is no longer a game so the monsters wasn't restricted to their spawn points and they will be able to go to anywhere they want. He wasn't even sure that they can respawn.

Jackson pulled out his katana and decided to fend of the hounds until he heard a voice behind him calling to him "Hey young man, come inside", Jackson turned around to see someone opening the door of the house near the oasis. He went inside the house and saw a young boy which was dressed in yellow-green clothes.

"Don't worry, those hounds won't be able to come inside this house. This house protected from outside monsters because of they protection spell that my mom laid on it." The boy said as he closed the door.

Jackson looked at the boy and he recognized him as the boy who was always beside Eillen Grocer inside the game. 'It seems that he was her son but where is she?'

"Boy, where is your mother Eillen?" Jackson asked as he sat in a chair he pulled from his left side, he didn't see Eillen anywhere so he decided to just ask her son.

"Mom said she was going to gather ingredients to concoct level 2 HP potions." The boy said as he went to the back and brought with him a waterskin.

Jackson's thoughts was wandering around while thinking on how the hell does a merchant gets his own ingredients and concoct their own potions. 'Isn't a merchant only sells stuff and not makes them?' Jackson rubbed his forehead and drank the water that the boy handed him.

"I'm Jackson, thank you for letting me in your house. What's your name? I can't be calling you boy all the time right?" Jackson asked as he smiled.

When he was in the game the only name that is being displayed as the NPC's name was only Eillen and not his son's name so he first decided to ask the name, he doesn't have anything to do now that the surrounding red garlies returned to their burrows so he just decided to just pass the time for now.

"My name is Eric, son of Eillen. We are merchants, I've been born in this desert and never got the chance to go out. Are you a traveler mister?" Eric said with brimming eyes.

The only people he sees in this desert were the bandits and merchants who trades with her mother, he was longing to go to the outside world and explore but his circumstances didn't allow him to. His house was in the middle of the dessert, there was monsters loitering around their house, the heat is harsh and the food is scarce in the desert.

With this conditions, he can only quietly stay in the house and read the books which were brought to him by his mother to know about the outside world, so when he heard that there were a fight going on the oasis, he decided to just observe them in the window. He was amazed to see one man being able to fend off an attack of many people and even managed to kill some of them.

"Yes I'm a traveler, and I came to this oasis to hunt a monster called red garlie. Do you know about them?" Jackson pondered for a while and decided to go along with Eric.

"Yes, in a mound 500 meters east away from here. That's where the base of the red garlies are, but be very extra careful if you want to hut them because they seldom leave their nest." Eric said with a satisfied face. Although he can't go outside of the house, he can still go to the top of their house and observe the surroundings with a scope.

"Oh really, Thank you for the information and the water. Here a little something to thank you with." Jackson placed a bag of alz in the table worth 10,000alz. 'So that's the reason why the place was awfully quite.' Jackson thought as he looked peeked the outside using the window and discovered that the hounds was returning to their home.

"I'm gonna go now and hunt the red garlies, here use this to contact me." Jackson said as he placed an item from his inventory.
