Chapter 127 - The Shadow Reappeared 2

Susu sat up straight with the rose in her left hand, waiting for Zi Yan's explanation. After a few minutes of silence, she looked up to meet Zi Yan's worried expression.

"What are you staring at?" Susu asked as the area between her brows wrinkled.

"You...something is different. You weren't like this when I left earlier. Your aura changed. Don't move." Zi Yan's palm reached close to Susu's forehead, but didn't touch her. She shut her eyes and concentrated fully on Susu.

Slowly, Susu's body relaxed and felt a warmth, energy wrap around her. The sense of security is similar to a baby in a mother's womb. So warm. So comfortable that she nearly fell asleep.

After a few minutes, Zi Yan opened her eyes with a light layer of perspiration on her forehead. "How are you feeling?" She felt Susu's hands and let out a sigh of relief when her hands were room temperature.

"More calm and warm compared to before. No more tightness in my chest. What did you just do?" Susu blinked and subconsciously held onto Zi Yan's hand.

"Even if I tell you this now, you may not believe it. I need to show you something first. Hold out your hand." Susu opened her palm and exposed the rose that was in her left hand. Zi Yan reached into her bag and brought out a box. From the box, she took out a green stem with a tiny leaf on it.

"That is..." Susu recognized the stem right away from her dream.

"Here, put them together." Susu took the stem carefully and naturally knew the correct placement and where to stick the stem into the rose. Her eyes widened as she watched the rose blossom and petals soften like a real rose. She blinked at how beautiful this design worked out. It was similar to the outfit that she designed with the bendable petals, except this was like a magic trick.

"H..how?" She turned towards Zi Yan and showed a question filled face. Zi Yan maintained her smile and looked straight at Susu. Even though she wasn't saying anything, somehow Susu could read what was going on in her mind.

"Susu, can you hear me?" Zi Yan's lips didn't move, but Susu knew what she was thinking about. Naturally, she replied, "Of course, I could hear you. I'm not deaf."

"That means you've progressed to a breakthrough and opened yourself to your innate abilities." Zi Yan's lip curved into a small smile while Susu remained confused.

"What do you mean by breakthrough? I didn't break anything?" She tilted her head sideways and frowned. Zi Yan opened her mouth and spoke, "you, my dear, aren't a regular human being. Just now, you read my mind even though I wasn't saying anything out loud."

"What do you mean? You were just say-" Susu's lips stayed parted when she thought back to the way she communicated with Zi Yan just now. It was true that her lips didn't move a bit and mouth haven't opened once. All this time, she had been hearing Zi Yan's inner mind.

"Susu, check the rose shadow on your right shoulder now. It should possess a more definite form and darker color." Following Zi Yan's instructions, Susu pulled the right side of her top off her shoulders slightly and saw the rose. Not only was the rose more colorful than before, there was also a stem that appeared!

"T..this.. When did this get here?" She stuttered in shock. "That was the seal that your mother had left you. The last thing she could have done for you was to seal away your psychic abilities so that you would live a normal childhood. Before we move on with this long ass story to come, I need you to believe that such ability exists. This is not a reality show nor is it some novel that the author decided to randomly pop in to get more people to join the fun. This is real."

Susu was in a daze as everything came too sudden. On the spur of the moment, she could hear Professor Luo Xia's voice. He was worried and hoping that she could accept the rest of the adventures to come.

Looking back and forth from her mother to grandfather, she finally nodded, "I'll try my best to believe in these supernatural types of things. I can't guarantee whether I'll think that I'm crazy at the end though, so just a heads up on that."

"That's okay. As long as you understand this point, it's all that I need for now. Your belief. If not, then I can show you this as well." Zi Yan lifted her right arm and opened her hand facing towards the glass on the table. Eventually, the glass moved from the edge of the table to across the flat surface onto where a circle shaped print for cups were imprinted.

Susu felt overwhelmed by what she had just witnessed. She rubbed her eyes and even slapped her face to see if she was dreaming. If reading someone else's mind couldn't be confirmed, then a moving glass could definitely be proof. Zi Yan turned around and invited Professor Luo Xia to join them, "dad, it's your turn."

He cleared his throat and was pretty nervous to speak to Susu. With a pat against his wrinkled hand, Susu cheered him up, "don't worry, I will try my best to understand."

After taking a seat by her bedside, Professor Luo Xia said, "Actually, this started with your great grandmother's generation. Maybe even way before that generation. I'll start with how I met your grandmother first. She was always alone and everyone seemed to be afraid of her, but I found her special. She was a really humorous and big-hearted person. Very beautiful, just like an angel."

"We lived in a small village where everyone knew each other. I was young and arrogant, so I didn't understand that my temper was the reason why I was isolated by those bumpkins. Everyone saw me as the rich kid who acted spoiled, but they never tried giving me a chance to prove them wrong. Of course, this only says that much about kids, huh?"

"Anyways, I ended up with the thought that if they won't involve me, then I will play by myself. Of course, that is just my way of acting strong. Who wouldn't want friends to run around with and laugh about silly little things when they were at that age? Well, then, there was me and my secret garden with plants that I failed to take care of."

He chuckled as he closed his eyes and visualized everything that had happened as if it was just yesterday.
