Chereads / No Matter How Long Time Passes, I Still Love You / Chapter 124 - The Missing Stem 2

Chapter 124 - The Missing Stem 2

While Professor Luo Xia took his time getting ready in the restroom, Kitty and Karen were trapped in an underground cell. To be exact, Kitty was in a different cell where she witnessed Karen's torturous adventure from a double-sided mirror. Of course, Karen's side could not see Kitty, but Kitty's side was similar to a transparent wall between the cells.

When Kitty was brought down by one of the guards, Zi Yan gave her an allergy shot and told her that they need to keep her for a few hours to make certain that the poison was totally cured. The placebo effect worked extremely well.

Zi Yan had her own thoughts in mind as she didn't like wasting her energy in making humans disappear. She detested the fact that such vicious people exist, but she could only punish them for what they've done to either her or her family. It's been a long time since she last made a move on someone.

This time, she was willing to give Kitty a second chance because she was tricked by Karen into doing this. Even so, she deserved to lose her beauty and that arm because she didn't consider the many other possible answers to the blackmailing. In order to teach her a deep lesson and attempt to make her a better person after this, Zi Yan decided to use Karen as an example.

After giving her the allergy shot, the guards shoved her into the cell and one of them stayed inside of it with her. Zi Yan said, "little girl, you've yet to see this world full of ugly beings and worthless scrap. Let auntie teach you a lesson today that would broaden your eyes. Remember to hold your eyes opened for the entire time or else I would have that brother behind you to use force on you." Kitty hugged her injured arm and nodded.

"Good," Zi Yan walked into Karen's cell and signaled the other guard to bring the buckets of warm salt water and first aid kits. Then, the guard brought a chair for her to sit on while Karen remained chained against the stone wall.

Minutes ticked by and she had no signs of waking up anytime soon. As Zi Yan checked her watch impatiently, she ordered, "splash her face." The guard took the sanitized ladle and scooped a spoonful of salt water. His actions were quick and hence were the salt water that stung the shit out of Karen's wound.

Her eyes popped open and her mouth could only groan because of the lack of teeth. "Whoops, did I wake you up from your sweet candy land dreams? Too bad you can't even suck on a lollipop." Zi Yan looked at her long fingernails before peeling cold oranges. The oranges were icy cold, yet her nails were sharp enough to penetrate the thin layer. Before long, a fresh orange appeared and she ate it slice by slice.

"So, Karen Yin, do you have any idea why you're here? Ah, silly me, you can't even talk right now because your mouth hurts right? Oh wells, I'll cut it short and tell you that it is due to your stupidity and jealous heart. No matter how pretty a person's face could appear, beauty is about the inside not outside. But then again, you never had a pretty face, so your only option was to be the best you and obviously, you've failed beyond miserable." She continued chewing on the orange slices slowly and made delicious moans when she ate them.

"Blackmailing someone is one of the lowest and most despicable actions anyone can execute. Not only did you use someone's weakness to set out what you wanted, you also used it to harm someone you disliked. What made this even more of a joke is the fact that the person did nothing wrong to you in her entire life and you were purely jealous of her."

"Now that Kitty eliminated the reason for your low esteem or high confidence whatever the heck you want to call it, why don't you take a look at those horrifying cuts on your cheeks? Actually, this wasn't part of my plan, but your great friend decided to make you join her in the world of disfigured models. So, there you go. Those fresh, fancy cuts."

The guard brought over a new mirror that has an enlarge effect. Karen tried to close her eyes and look away, but the guard forced her to face the mirror.

When she continued to have her eyes closed, Zi Yan said, "Well, it's alright if you choose to see or not because I've decided to do you a favor and sew your eyes closed with some used needles that I found in the hospital." She walked over to Karen and sanitized the blood-stained string and used needles.

"Don't worry. Since your mind has already been blinded by your ridiculous jealousy, you won't need these eyes anyways. People like you won't change. Since you're the production of Liang Yu Qing, you are one brainless seed just like her empty celled brain. Ah, right, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Susu's mother."

"Oh! If you ever question why you deserved all this, you may want to ask your mother if you have the luck of meeting her again after this. Chances are less than 0.05%, but it's worth a shot." Karen opened her eyes and stared at Zi Yan confusedly.

She didn't realize what was going on until Zi Yan mentioned Liang Yu Qing's name. Long ago, Liang Yu Qing mentioned that there were missing people from an important research that had something to do with supernatural skills. She thought that it was a joke and laughed it off.

Liang Yu Qing apparently had a one-night stand and got pregnant from a stranger. Her father had forced to her marry Yin Zin Leung to learn more about the projects, but nobody found new evidence to support some weird theory.

Although Liang Yu Qing had never explained what the project was about, Karen knew that it was some crazy idea that other people were researching about. She also knew that Susu held the status of being the eldest daughter in the Yin family, but her mother was someone special.

Zi Yan's lip curved to a smirk and parted as she whispered, "exactly what you're thinking. At least you found out for yourself at the end. Oh, right. I forgot to ask you. Where did you get that medicine? And who gave it to you?"

Karen immediately thought of her mother because she was the one who retrieved the medicine from the black market. Everything was done in secret, so nobody would've suspected the origin of the medicine. "Thanks for giving me such useful material. As a gift, let's get on with sewing those eyes," Zi Yan smirked. The guard walked over and held Karen's head in place as Zi Yan proceeded with sewing her eye lids to her undereye area.

Karen struggled and forced her eyelids open. She refused to let the sewing process happen, but it was useless. At the end, she had two bloody eyes and sewed closed eyelids. To prevent her from forcing the eyelids up, the guard stapled the areas that were sewn; avoiding her eyeballs that were rolling around.

Kitty was released after she was scared out of her wits from seeing Karen's ending. She patted her chest and relaxed as she saw light coming from the top of the steps. Before she had left, Zi Yan reminded her to be a better person from now on or else she would be captured back to this cell and stay here till old.

Kitty nodded in response and took a quick glance at Karen before running out of the underground cell. She was blindfolded by the guard from the top of the staircase until they've reached the city center. When she turned around again, the guards were already gone.

She rushed back home and swore that she would only help people in the future. That night, she cleaned herself up and sanitized her wounds before getting a good night sleep. While she rested in her bed, Zi Yan went back to the hotel to wash up before heading to the hospital to visit Susu.

Professor Luo Xia already ordered breakfast for two and was waiting for the room service. When Zi Yan got out of the shower, she joined him for the meal.

"Are you ready to explain to Susu about everything?" He asked as he added three teaspoons of sugar into her tea and stirred it.

"Nope. That's why I told them to give me three days for the operation. She just realized that she had family members outside of the Yin family. Who could digest these thoughts so quick? Even I wouldn't be able to do that. I have a helper in that group to persuade her though. Hopefully, it'll be good news soon." She blew on the cup of tea and continued the stirring process.

A notification popped up on her screen and a small smile formed as she cut her omelet. "This kiddo impresses me. At this rate, the surgery in three days should run smoothly."

Profesoor Luo Xia curiously peeked at her phone and saw the message from Chen Mu. Another smile appeared at the table and he mumbled, "impressive grandson-in-law."
