Chapter 80 - Was It Really Just a Coincidence?

The following morning, Chen Mu woke up, went out to buy some herbs from the market, and made contraceptive medicine that are harmless to the body. He had to adjust the formulas because Susu was also taking medicine, so the herbs he used cannot be ones that would clash with the ingredients used in her chemotherapy pills.

He knew how much she hated drinking bitter herb tea, so he chose a sweet type of herb over the bitter one when he bought the ingredients. While she slept and took sufficient rest, he was happily making the perfect formula for her body. Sometimes he smiled and other times he giggled like a schoolgirl thinking about her crush. He didn't even notice that she woke up and was observing his funny expressions from the hallway with her arms crossed.

She smiled and decided to tiptoe to his side to see if he would notice her. As expected, he was too focused on whatever was on his mind that she managed to hug him from behind and give him a light scare. "Boo! Morning! Hahahhaahha" She hugged his waist as he patted his chest and took deep breaths.

"Mm..Morning...Phewww, almost got a heart attack."

"Oh? Oh? Let me listen to your heartbeat and see~" She turned him around and placed her ears flat against his chest to listen to his heart that was beating incredibly fast. She giggled, "Sounds nothing like last night's heartbeat hehehehe. Last night, your heart was beating like bathump.. bathumpp..bathumpp"

Her hands patted on his chest gently to demonstrate how fast his heart raced while they were doing the deed last night. With one arm hugging her close, the other hand of his reached for her chin, "You! Always so teasing. Are you not afraid that I make it so that you wouldn't be able to get out of bed for the next few days? Hmmm?"

"We'll see if you dare do that to me! Hehehehee" Her feet left the floor as he lifted her up on the kitchen counter, next to the bowl of contraceptive medicine.

"Is that another challenge hmm? I'll gladly accept it if its from you, wifey." He fixed her bed hair and brushed it away from her face. She wrapped her arms around his shoulder, "Who's your wife? We aren't even married yet!"

"Oh? Shall I remind you how I made you call me hubby and how many times you've screamed it voluntarily yesterday night? Mmmmm?" He teased while hugging her waist and bringing his lips to hers.

Her face flushed as she remembered how shameless he made her last night. She couldn't hold back her desires and moans at the end. "Y..You..mm..nn.. beast!" She playfully fists punched his shoulders as she drowned in his passionate morning kiss. Her body relaxed and brought itself closer to his embrace. Even though all he did was kiss her, her body already lost its strength as she gave in willingly to his intimate touches.

After sharing a long kiss, they settled down to make and eat breakfast together like always. He made sure she drank the contraceptive tea and had enough rest to run some errands later.

"What are you doing today?" Chen Mu took the empty cup to the sink and washed it.

"Mmmm.. I need to finish editing some designs for clients and then go out to buy some stuff with Lily."

"Alright, make sure to rest your eyes once in a while. You know how concentrated you get once you start working on designs. It's a bit chilly outside today, so don't forget to wear a scarf when you go out." Before he headed to work, he left a scarf on top of her jacket so she wouldn't forget to bundle up before going out.

While walking him out, she double checked to make sure that he had everything, "Keys, wallet, work documents!"

"Got them."

"Then you're alllll set~" She handed him his bag with everything in it.

"You forgot about something." He touched his lips with his index finger and bent forward.

"Hahaha.. here, here! Mwahhhh, have a safe trip~ Don't miss me too much~" She pecked his lips, cheeks and forehead before waving goodbye.

He laughed heartily and left for work. She shook her head slightly with a silly smile on her face, "Aiya, still like a child."

Susu had worked on her client's requests and made proper adjustments to the designs before she headed out to meet up with Lily. Although she wore a scarf around her neck, the concealer she used to hide the hickeys on her neck was barely enough coverage to hide the redness.

When Susu arrived at the mall, Lily was holding two hot milk teas and staring at it intently. The moment she caught Susu's figure at the corner of her eye, she smiled happily and gave her a tight hug.

"You're here! Come, come. I ordered two drinks just now. You choose which one you want to drink! The one on the left is the Roasted Oolong milk tea and on the right is Taro milk tea." She pushed the two drinks and let Susu choose first.

She smiled and looked at Lily, "You looked so serious a few minutes ago staring at these two drinks. You probably want to try both, but didn't know which one to choose. Right?"

Lily let out a soft laugh, "Can you not have such sharp eyes?"

"Then how about this? We both share the drinks. Not like we never shared one before. This way, both of us get to try both flavors. How about it?"

"Awwwww, my hun knows me so well!!! Then let's walk as we drink! Hehehehe." Lily hugged Susu's arm as they roamed around various cosmetic and clothing stores. She recommended certain concealer products to Susu after noticing some light pink marks on her neck that the scarf failed to cover up.

Lily smirked and whispered to Susu, "Seems like Chen Mu is quite an artist huh?"

"Huh? What do you m-...." Her cheeks turned pink after catching the meaning behind her words.

"So so~ Did you do what I taught you? How did it happen?~ Gyaaa, so exciting! Geeez, should I recommend some ointment to you too? It's very effective." She winked as they turned the corner to walk downstairs.

Before the girls stepped their first step down the staircase, a man had interrupted, "What a coincidence to run into you."

Susu turned around after recognizing the familiar voice and smiled politely, "Zhi Hei? It's been a while."

Lily squeezed Susu's arm and whispered lowly, "By Zhi Hei, did you mean Huang Zhi Hei? The Huang Corps' King of the economy?"

"Huh...uhm yea.." Susu never knew that Zhi Hei had such a title.

Zhi Hei smiled and introduced himself, "I apologize for my late introduction. My name is Huang Zhi Hei. I believe you are the daughter of Jiang Corps? Lily Jiang?"

Lily nodded, "Impressive memory. I am Lily Jiang."

"We've met during some business events. Though we've never officially talked to each other, Miss Jiang's name is widely known amongst the socialite's group." In a way, he complimented her and made her feel slightly proud of her achievements.

His gaze shifted from Lily to Susu, "I was going to ask Chen Mu, but since I ran into you I might as well talk to you about it myself."

"What is it?" Susu couldn't think of anything that he would need from her.

"Every year, our corporation holds an annual event in which people with creative talents in design could participate through sending us their application. We have the most famous professors and designers coming from different private institutions to judge the work." Zhi Hei took out an envelope with a rose stamp on it and handed it to Susu.

"This is?" Susu looked at the unique stationery stamp on the envelope.

"That is a personal invitation for you from Huang Corps to join as a participant in the upcoming event."

"But why?" She never disclosed any information about her self-interest in design, so how did he know about it?

"Initially, I asked Chen Mu about the secret designer who helped him out with the projects that needed done urgently. He told me that it was you who managed to do such a splendid job. I've seen your work and had been interested in collaborating with you." He explained to her.

"Oh.. Well that would make more sense. At the same time, I doubt that this personal invitation was based solely on the few projects that I managed to complete in a short period of time for Chen Corps. Would you mind explaining why I was invited?"

Her instincts told her that there was a much deeper meaning behind inviting her personally to join as a participant. Zhi Hei smiled, "You're sharper than I expected. This year, our company settled on inviting several powerful and well known people in the design industry to be the judges. One of the judges said that the only way he would accept our invitation is if you, Yin Susu, agree to join the event."

"One of the judges? Who?" She asked curiously with her gaze still on the familiar rose stamp imprinted on the envelope.

"Professor Luo Xia from Paris Fashion Institute. He has multiple identities in the fashion design industry that it is rare to see him in events as a guest. As the CEO of Huang Corps, I officially invite you to attend the event if you are available and are interested."

Susu was about to reject his offer, but was interrupted by his words. "Before you respond right away, why not think about it first? You have more than enough time to consider it."

She sighed softly and nodded with a smile on her face, "Alright. I'll let you know when I come to a decision. Thank you."

"I should thank you instead for listening to me. Since I've already said everything that I wanted to say, I will take my leave. Before I do, do you have any questions for me?"

Susu shook her head, "Nope. That'll be all."

"Alright. Then I look forward to seeing you." Zhi Hei bid them both goodbye and walked away.

Lily wrapped her arm around Susu's shoulder, "Hun, was it really a coincidence or did he purposely come to deliver this invitation to you? Which CEO will keep a private invitation with him at all times unless he knows that the person will show up at a certain place and time? Could the mighty devil king actually be a stalker?"

Susu carefully slipped the invitation card into her purse, "Let's go, little guesser. We will never understand what's going on in a rich CEO's mind. Maybe he coincidentally bumped into me by pure accident or maybe he really is stalking me. All I know is that he is Chen Mu's close friend and someone I could trust. Therefore, don't think too much into it."

- Mall's parking lot -

Zhi Hei sat in the back seat of his limousine, next to Professor Luo Xia, "I did as you had requested. But may I ask why her?"

Professor Luo Xia sipped his tea and smiled, "Just something I want to confirm."

Zhi Hei nodded and didn't ask for further details. He believed that there must be a reason behind this big shot's request. At the same time, Professor Luo Xia had his eyes on the list of selected participants that he had reviewed.
