At the Imperial Hospital, Shen Wen's face was ghastly pale with her eyes half opened, "Guo Min, it's all my fault. I shouldn't have forced Susu when she said that she didn't want to marry Tian Yuo at the beginning. I told her it was her mother's last wish and that made her push herself to go on with a loveless marriage."
Guo min whispered softly, "Honey, you only wanted the best for Tian Yuo. We all thought that he would change for the better, but things didn't turn out the way we want it. Don't miss her too much and don't pressure yourself either. The doctor said that you're too stressed."
"But hubby, it is my fault. Susu must have been heart broken. That Karen vixen sucked up all the advantages and benefits from this. Oh... my poor Susu.. how will I ever make it up to her?" Guo Min grabbed a few tissues and gently wiped away her tears.
Tian Yuo stood outside the hospital room with a solemn expression. He gasped when he heard what his mom had said, 'Susu didn't want to marry me since the beginning... but I've always treated her badly because I thought she was trying to get on my good side.'
There was too much confusion going on in his head as he recalled Susu's words. "She already said she didn't want to be my wife. At first, she would still talk to me and try to explain herself. Slowly, I pushed her to her limit. And now, she doesn't even bother exchanging a glance with me."
Even though he still had doubts in the incident from a year ago, a part of him still blames everything that's happened on Susu. Yet, for some reason, he couldn't stop thinking about her. "What am I thinking? I love Karen. Right, Karen. Karen has been bullied since young and she needs me to protect her."
-Tian Corps-
Over the years of visiting Tian Yuo, at his company, he has given Karen the access passwords to the private elevator that leads to his office. She knew how private he is about this office, so nobody dared to install cameras in his office. Therefore, she safely avoided the cameras from the parking lot, entered the private elevator, and snuck into his office without anyone seeing her.
Knowing his habits, she could guess where he would store important documents. Even though he said that the divorce papers had been sent to the lawyers, a part of her didn't believe in him. The expression that he made and how his eyes were glued to Susu made her feel like worms were crawling inside her intestines. It was extremely disturbing her.
Her fingers wandered underneath his desk where a hidden button is located. After pressing it, a mini drawer ejected from the desk with a pair of keys inside of it. "Tian Yuo... you better not have lied to me." Using the pair of keys, she unlocked the drawer and pulled it open with her eyes concentrated on the content inside it.
Her hands trembled as her teeth bit tightly onto the mini flashlight that she brought with her. Inside the yellow envelope were the divorce papers that he supposedly claimed that he had already sent to the lawyer. "D..divorce papers...with both signatures on them...Tian Yuo, do you love her? Why isn't this already in the lawyer's hands? There must be some ink stains or something... yes, that's right."
As she flipped through the pages of the divorce papers, she only saw red cross outs on the alimony sections and Susu writing that she didn't want anything from the Tian family. "Impossible! this isn't real...This is fake! No, I can't let this happen. They must divorce. Calm down, Karen. Calm down and think of what to do."
She looked around the room and saw the outgoing mailbox. The box was full of other documents in yellow envelopes. The yellow envelope in her hand already had the lawyer's address and name on it, so all she needed to do was slip this between the other documents and pretend she never came.
Carefully, she put the divorce papers back into the envelope and slid it between the stack of outgoing mail, "Heh. You two definitely need to divorce. Tian Yuo is mine. Susu, don't you dare try to take him from me."
She locked the drawers, put the keys back to its original position, and exited using his private elevator. The next morning, Tian Yuo's assistant had been punctual as always and stepped foot with a cup of coffee in her hand at exactly 6 A.M. One of the first tasks that she needed to take care of every morning were the stack of documents that needed to be mailed out.
The outgoing mail from Tian Yuo's room linked to another box where the assistant could retrieve the files by pressing a button from her desk. After collecting all mail, she personally delivered it to the mail room and distributed it to different department's mailboxes.
At 8 A.M., Tian Yuo walked in with a slanted tie and wrinkled suit. His assistant greeted him, but was met with silence. After less than half an hour, he screamed angrily inside his office, making her spill her coffee onto some documents.
Immediately, she knocked on his door and entered his office to see if he was alright. Meeting his blood thirsting eyes, he frustratedly roared questioning her if anyone had entered his office without his permission or while he was away. His aura made her body tremble, and knees weaken, "Nn..nno.. nobody.."
"Then why is the document that I placed inside this drawer gone?!!! I had it locked up before I left my office yesterday. There is no way that the documents would suddenly grow legs and escape from the drawer." The dark circle under his eyes only added on to how old he looked and his reaction nearly scared her to death just now.
Before she could say another word, he pointed at the emptied outgoing mail with widened eyes and haggard appearance, "W..what did you do with those mails?!"
"I...I just sent them to the mail room like two hours ago..."
"F*ck!!!!!" he rushed downstairs and wished the elevator would drop down faster. His fingers were peeling each other's cuticle skin off as he anxiously stared at the floors going down from floor to floor. Finally, he reached the 15th floor and ran towards the mailbox.
When he saw that the empty mailbox for the legal department, he tried dialing the lawyer's number, "Did you receive any documents from me?"
"Yes, I have the divorce papers that you and your wife had signed. I've already made the changes and began the divorce process. Is there something wrong?" The lawyer asked unknowing to how much his response made Tian Yuo's last piece of hope shattered.
"Nothing." He hung up and squatted down while rummaging through his hair, "Everything's over.. Now, we have to get a divorce. Unless...."
He dialed the lawyer's number again and spoke demandingly, "Do something for me."
