Geoff just looked at me. He didn't say anything. I understood that time that he trusts me, and he supports my decision. I feel sorry for him. This time should be my time with him.
"Hello." I answered the call.
"Jez! I was already worried when you were not answering the call. I am here in front of your apartment. I have been waiting for an hour now. What time will you come home?" He asked. I put the call on loudspeaker so Geoff can hear our conversation.
When Geoff heard it, he turned his back at me.
"Lance, sorry. I am here in Annie's place. You remember her, right? I was with her when I was at the bar the first time we met. We have to finish some reports tonight." I lied.
"Where is her place? I can go there. I just want to see you tonight, even only for 5 minutes."
"I think I can't invite you here. This is her place, and I can't give her address to anyone. I hope you understand." I was hoping he would just give up. This situation is getting worse and worse.
"Is that so? It's okay, then. I understand. Am I disturbing you? Are you trying to avoid me?" He asked, sounding upset.
"No! You didn't tell me that you planned to drop by my place. I made a promise to Annie to sleepover her place yesterday. I don't like surprises." I pretended to be angry.
"Sorry, it's my fault. Can I meet you tomorrow then?"
"I will let you know tomorrow. Please go home. My neighbours might feel uncomfortable seeing you there."
"Okay. I will wait for your message. Bye." He finally hung up.
I hugged Geoff immediately after the call. He remained quiet for a few minutes. I know that I made him upset and this situation is also difficult for him.
"Sorry. What do you think I should do? I don't like to lie to him, and I also don't like hurting you."
"Let's get married. That's the best thing you have to do. Marry me and let's help Lance together. Two months is still too long. I can wait for those months but with Lance going to your place anytime he wants, I can't help but get worried. I trust you, Jessica, but I can't trust him especially after what he did to you." He looks very serious saying this. I was touched by the way he cares for me.
I was quiet for some time, thinking what I will answer him.
"I understand, Jessica. I will wait for two months and I will trust you. But you have to promise me that you won't allow that man to enter your house again, okay?"
"Let's get married. I am sure that I can trust you fully. We can get married whenever you want." I told him.
I saw the change in his expression after hearing what I said. His eyes brightened and he stood up immediately from the bed.
"Are you serious? Let's get married tomorrow!" He said excitedly.
I laughed at his reaction. He looks so cute. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with this man. I will take care of him forever. Things are maybe happening so fast, but the few days that I was with him were the happiest in my life.
"It's too early. We have to plan it carefully. You have to talk to my mom first. I'm sure she will be very happy to know I will get married soon. She has always pressured me to have blind dates. Also, I'm worried your family won't like me." I almost forgot about that. What if his family would disagree with our plan?
"Both my parents are now gone, so you just need to get along well with my stepmom and my half-brother. They both listen to what I say. If they give you a hard time, I will also make their lives difficult. Don't worry." He assured me.
"But I'm a nobody. I'm sure they want you to meet someone who also has a business background. Nowadays, even getting married can be a business plan." I started feeling scared again. I never thought about the possible problems I would encounter marrying him.
"You are worrying about nonsense things. I'm the CEO of Liberty Group. I own the biggest shares in this company. Many people respect me. I can easily crush anyone who would hurt you." I felt a bit better with what he said, but I still couldn't help worrying.
"I will contact my secretary to look for a wedding organizer tomorrow. I will also arrange dinner with you and my stepmom tomorrow night. Do you think your mom can join us for dinner?" He asked.
"Let's talk to my mom this weekend. We can visit her in my hometown. I'm sure she will be delighted to meet you and then we can go to the beach after. Will you be free this weekend?"
"I can free my schedule for you my love." He started kissing me after. My heart is filled with happiness thinking that I will soon be married with this man.
"Can we have an advanced honeymoon now?" He asked, his eyes filled with desire.
"Sorry, let's wait until our wedding night." I said with a smile.
"Okay." He said forcefully. We continued kissing and I can feel his fingers teasing me. I allowed him to do it but still making myself not lose control.
He stood up immediately again. "Jez, I can't stop myself from touching you. You're really making me crazy."
He is so cute. I know it is like a torture for him not to be able to touch me after and intense kissing, but we have to wait until we get married.
We slept peacefully next to each other. I hope everything will go well tomorrow.
The next day was busy as usual. I and Mr. Smith finally chose six new employees to be included in my team. They will report to me next week. The dinner with Geoff's stepmom and half-brother is already set tonight. I tried to make myself busy with work so I would forget how nervous I am.
At 5 pm, I was picked up by a limo. Some of my coworkers saw me getting in it and I could see their curious faces. I feel so nervous. I am wearing a pink dress with 5-inch heels. I put a light make up. My dress doesn't look elegant since it is just cheap. I hope Geoff's stepmom won't notice it.
On my way to the hotel, my phone rang. It is Lance. I completely forgot that he wants to see me today. What excuse can I give him this time?
"Hello." I picked the call up.
"I'm in your place, Jez. Are you on your way home now?" He asked.
"Sorry, something came up. My boss and I have a sudden dinner appointment with an important client. I think I would go home so late today. Maybe we can meet tomorrow instead." I suggested.
"I can wait here until you arrive. I will be fine here." He said sounding determined.
"No!" I snapped. "You might make the neighbours feel uncomfortable. I'm not even sure what time I would go home. Please, just leave for now then we can meet tomorrow. I promised."
"You also said that yesterday." He said. I can feel a sense of guilt in me, but I cannot do anything. I was just being nice to him because I want to help him.
"I didn't promise to meet you today. My work is my priority. Sorry Lance." I hung up. I think talking to him more would make him feel more upset. I put the phone back in my bag. I checked my appearance through my compact mirror and put some powder.
I arrived Liberty Hotel at past 6pm. I was then ushered to the restaurant on the 50th floor by one of the staff.
A waiting staff guided me to a private room where a woman in her early fifties and a man in his late twenties were waiting next to Geoff.
Geoff got up immediately when he saw me. He kissed my cheeks and smiled.
"Am I late?" I asked.
"No. We just arrived." He said with a smile.
The other two people said nothing. They were both quiet. I could see the woman's eyes analyzing me from head to foot.
"This is Jessica Myers, my fiancée." He said. "She is Mrs. Regina Park, my stepmom. And that is Christof Park, my younger brother."
Christof smiled at me while Mrs. Park just stared at me. She doesn't look so pleased to see me. I think Geoff can sense that way as well. "She is now my fiancée so I hope you can get along with her well. And we plan to get married as soon as possible. After that, she will be staying with us."
Us? So, I will be under the same roof with them after getting married?
