Morning everyone! It's the next day and I'm going to be continuing my exploration on the surrounding area. I've reached my goal of finding a place to help me get to level 30 so I should continue with my hunting.
Looking around the area I'm pretty sure that I could find a cave system of sorts. I mean it's a very hilly and rocky area so it should be fine. I may even be able to find a beasts den and attack them while they sleep.
Moving around the forest I searched until I had found an ant. Now yes you may be thinking an ant, really? But I'll let you know that this ant is a big as me.
From what I can remember they are called the giant demon ants. They are ants that live in colonies up to a few hundred thousand and they can even grow their own food source in there home. I also know that they can give a decent amount of EXP while also being a good material to make light armour from.
If I can collect this material I may be pardoned a little bit for leaving the palace although I don't hold much hope.
As I moved closer to the ant it seemed that it was trying to break apart a tree more than likely to get something from within. These ants will attack anything they deem as food so I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bird or something in there.
Slowly moving behind the ant I got into close enough position to swiftly decapitate the ant using my claws. I decided to save my halberd for when I fight hordes of these things.
The ants aren't strong individually but that's why then come in large numbers. Storing the ant away I went up into the tree to wait. Another unique thing about these ants is that when one dies they release in simple terms a smell that attracts all ants in the nearby area to its source.
And sure enough around 10 of these ants came towards the smell. In the group there was a slightly larger one which I assume to be the soldier ant type. Just like ants back in my old world these ants have different types of ants in one colony.
Dashing towards the soldier variant I quickly slashed off one side of its legs making unable to continue fighting. Turning around and... Fuck. Looks like I've really pissed them off.
You know how I said there were ten ants? Well now it's like 100 ants and there all swarming towards me!
Taking a defensive stance I began to use my lightning magic to do great deal of damage to the horde that was swarming towards me. I do have to say I'm glad that I had level this up a bit before.
Releasing the lightning attack I managed to reduce the numbers to maybe just more than 50. Taking my halberd out it's time to get to work hehehe.
Rushing forward I began to slash, stab and swing the halberd. It has enough range where I won't be in a great deal of danger when fighting close to an enemy.
Stabbing an ant in its eye I quickly used dark magic to defend from the one behind me. Ripping out the halberd I swing it clockwise severing the heads of three ants that all rushed me together.
Snapping my fingers together I created a ball of lightning that I slammed into the ground causing the ants around me to become paralysed temporarily.
This is starting to get fun! Hahahahahaha!
Okay I may be going slightly crazy but does that matter? I haven't felt this since I first arrived, I mean it's a proper battle.
After another 5 minutes of fighting and finishing off the ones that were too injured to continue. Fuuu that was amazing.
Well let's move on after I have a quick break. After that fight I had managed to level up to 25 which means I should gain a new skill. The skill can be anything random so let's hope it's a useful one.
The skill that's I had gained is... well it's not bad, but it's not great either. I had gained the skill thought transmission. It gives me the ability to be able to send my thoughts to another and also receive their own in response. Now you may think 'What do you mean not bad, but not great?! That sounds amazing!'
Well you would be right if Sylvie and the others don't find out. I mean I love them all but I wouldn't hear the end of it. The skill says that once I've established a connection with someone that other person can initiate the conversation next time. So let's say I talk to Sylvie with this skill the next time Sylvie can start the conversation whenever she wants. This also means that my chance of esca... I mean training won't happen again.
Now you may be like 'why not tell Sylvie?' Well that would be like suicide. I mean imagine if I don't tell her about this and she finds out. I think she would lecture me for a month straight and then force me to stay in the palace for a year unless I leave for work purposes. This means that I have to tell her but I would anyways because we are soon to be wife and wife so I really shouldn't keep this from her. *Sigh* this could be great or terrible.
Anyways enough about that I should get a move on. I'm going to try to find the ant nest so that I can power level up and gain a large amount of materials with it.
Finishing my break I headed towards the more hilly part of this area which I hope will be the location of the nest.
There only one way to find out though and that's to poke it with a stick. Or lightning strikes whatever floats your boat. Let's get going shall we?
