She's in my class.
Mark's heart was beating fast and his palms were sweating. A girl had bumped into him on the bus when it rocked, and that was when he met her. Swirling golden mango eyes blending into a mixture of dark chocolate brown with a touch of lush forest green. Absolutely breathtaking.
Her black hair was tied up in a messy bun, but that only added to her beauty even more. Her rectangular glasses magnified those eyes, causing his knees to go weak.
He had recognized the uniform she was wearing, it was the same as his. His heart was thumping with exhilaration at the thought of meeting someone that goes to the same school as him.
And now she was in his class.
There she was sitting by the window, looking beautiful as she was in the bus.
"Please welcome our new transfer student, Mark, to our class."
There was a polite applause, none too enthusiastic, nor uninterested.
"Hey, Tyler."
No response.
"Tyler." Ceci tapped her finger on his desk, inpatient. "You're staring at the new kid so intensely, did he do something to irritate you?"
"He's staring right at Elise." Tyler responded this time, never moving his eyes away from Mark as he made his way to his desk.
"Sounds like you're jealous."
"Who's jealous? I'm not jealous."
"Yes you are." Ceci pressed, refusing to let this go.
"How would you know?"
"Don't underestimate a woman's intuition."
"Don't underestimate a man's intuition."
"That's absolutely untrustworthy!" She shouted, slamming her hand on his desk as she shot up from her desk.
The whole class turned to look at her, even the teacher paused midway of writing on the board.
Ceci: .....
"Sorry." She mumbled as she slipped back into her seat, embarrassed.
And so class went on.
Of course, Tyler was spending his time burning holes at the back of Mark's head as the targeted man sneaked glances at Elise.
That was probably the reason why he failed the math quiz.
"What?" Elise slammed the cafeteria table. "How the heck did you fail? I thought you said you studied extra hard!"
"I had some distractions." Tyler bluntly said as he poked his food aimlessly.
"Like me?" Elise smiled softly, slightly tilting her head as she made an angelic pose.
Tyler's fork dropped from his hand, clattering onto the lunch tray.
The light from the windows hit her perfectly, bringing out her hazel eyes. Beautiful gold honey swirling into coffee brown and summer green eyes peering right into his soul. Her smile was soft as an angel's feather could be and dazzling as sun itself.
No. Even brighter.
Tyler opened his mouth, but was interrupted by Elise as she slammed the table once more.
"Ha! As if! You still need to fix this grade though." Elise sat back down and waved his quiz in front of him.
Tyler shut his mouth, silently thinking to himself. Then he nodded in agreement and they both continued their lunch in silence.
