The old beggar teacher staggered when he heard that Red rejected him. He looked at Red with a crooked smile that made him look creepy. "Don't worry kid, I'll teach you well." But Red looked at him coldly, unmoved. To begin with, Red had too many secrets and this old beggar suddenly appeared with a fearsome power and almost attacked him to death. There was no way Red was going to just blindly follow the man.
When the principal saw this situation he started perspiring. He looked towards the old beggar and bowed. "Honored old sir... if you wish to take this child as a student, we will help with the formalities. Please let him be a nominal student in our school."
When the old beggar heard that he waved his hand nonchalantly at the principal. "Little pig, you don't have to worry. I will teach him, but it is good to stay in this school as well." When the other students and teachers heard the old beggar call the principal, who was the most powerful cultivator in the school Little Pig, they were dumbfounded. And the worst part was the principal was continuing to ingratiate himself in front of this old beggar. Just who was he?
Red furrowed his brows when he heard that. He already suspected that this old beggar was a powerful expert and he wouldn't mind being a student if only he didn't have too many secrets that would turn him into a lab rat or make the human alliance go after him. The old beggar looked at him and waved him to follow. "Don't test my patience kid, otherwise I will have to give you a good spanking." Raging inside and spouting choicest words, Red quietly followed the old man.
The old man suddenly stopped to look at one of the teachers who was a woman. He suddenly rushed towards her, scaring everyone, but he stopped beside here and took up the pose as if he were a handsome man and not an old beggar. "Say woman... you want to spend a good night with me, this young handsome man?" When Red heard that he almost vomited. "Ugly old beggar, look at yourself in the mirror!" He screamed in his mind. Others were dumbfounded by this behavior as well, a few moments ago he looked like a god of war that could trample upon them all, now he was acting cool in front of a female teacher.
The old beggar and Red walked for a bit until they came to a secluded garden with a small house. "Kid, do you want some tea?" The old beggar asked. Red nodded, indicating that he wouldn't mind a cup. "Good, go make one for me too." Which flabbergasted Red. "What is wrong with this old man's head?" He wondered, but he knew he had absolutely no chance in a fight against him, so he didn't disagree.
The old beggar had a sly smile on his face as he kept eating walnuts while watching Red. "Hey kid, are you an Asura?" He asked nonchalantly. When Red heard that his heart chilled, but he showed no emotion on his face. "What sort of question is that? Do you see a horn on my head?" Red replied in a faux puzzled tone.
The old beggar looked at Red as if he were an interesting toy. "You may not have a horn. But your body emanates a domineering aura and with having just being in Beyond Mortal stage alone you are able to display strength compared to a mid second realm practitioner. Why?" When Red heard that he remained quiet and acted as if he didn't hear the old man. "Whatever kid, I don't care what secrets you are holding. I brought you here because I saw your potential and had the urge to train you." The old man chatted on.
Red heard that and was put into deep thought. "Are you someone famous? Principal seemed scared of you, I heard he was the strongest person on campus." The old man laughed. "I could be said to have some fame, yes. But that doesn't matter. I have decided upon a training regime for you. Right now you are too weak, and from your body age it seems you are already 20 and yet to begin cultivating qi."
When Red heard that he didn't disagree. He knew what the old man was saying was right. Because of many events he looked younger, yet he was actually 20 years old and was actually somewhat late in beginning martial arts practice. The old beggar nodded when he saw that Red didn't resist. "First test I have for you is something you need to accomplish within two months. Do you know about the School's master ranking board, Yes?"
Red knew about the master ranking board in the school. It was one of the first things he had seen when he had entered school, it was a board of the strongest students in the school across all years. To appear in the ranking, one had to challenge, one after the other, the people in the ranking boards, but to gain the right to challenge, he had to put points on the line, however, points could only be obtained by doing school missions which weren't open to freshmen in the first 6 months.
The old beggar knew what Red was thinking about. "Don't worry, I'll tell the Porky Principal to allow you to do missions for the school. But you can't do the same mission twice. Also you have unblocked you first mental lock, yes?" The old beggar asked, as if confirming what he had realized while watching Red's performance in the freshmen competition.
"Yes, I have breached the first lock." Red nodded, there was no hiding from this old beggar. The old beggar nodded. "You are talented. You actually managed to break the first lock. What form have your threads taken?" Red thought for a bit before replying. "I managed to conjoin the five threads to form a chain. As a result I can fuse my senses to create a singular connection."
The old beggar stroked his goat beard in thought before his head suddenly started shining and Red could suddenly see the old man's mental threads. "The most traditional method of breaking the lock is to form a series of knots with two threads at a time." Red saw that the old man's threads were chaotically knotted among each other with immense complexity before the old beggar took his threads back into his mind. "To have fused all the threads together like a helix to form a stronger chain... you might have discovered a new path in the pursuance of the first lock. Very interesting. Pass the test I have given you and I'll pass you my mental cultivation technique to pursue the path of the second mental lock. As far as the first lock, expanding its direction would have to rest on you, since you have created a new path.
