Margarette decided to visit her bestfriend's pad, Sheena Riley the only person she fully trust. They are childhood friends, she met Sheena back on 3rd grade where they swear an unbreakable oath " to never betray each other, no secret, and have each others back" .
She put her denim jeans, white Tshirt and wore her converse shoes. "Just the usual me" she said while looking the mirror remembering the gazing eyes of Zachary.

Margarette's POV
My phone vibrated multiple times, i grab it and check my messages..
Sheena:Hey M change of plan, the monster is in the house..
Sheena: Gonna pick you up..
Sheena: Be there in five. Lovelots. mwaps.
I grab my bag and dash out my room, if you're wondering who's the monster she's talking about, It's her brother..
Uriel Riley, ginger head boy in town, tall, fit, actually he's on the football varsity. He spend summer on Canada with his father, i hear they have a big business there. Sheena's nightmare, technically they share the same DNA, yeah her brother.
I remember the first time i saw him, back on 6th grade. It's his sister's birthday, we're playing on Sheena's room when Uriel enter. He had something hidden in his back.
"Hey dork, i had something for you" Sheena look furious thinking it might me a scheme.
"Go away you monster, i know what youre.." she stopped talking and gasped. I look at Sheena's face with my wide eyes..Her face were filled with cake Mrs. Riley baked for the birthday party.
"You devilish creature! Moooooom! Moooooooom! Uriel throw a cake at my face ahhhhh!" she calls her mom crying in despair, while her brother laughing loud.
That's the short flashback, I saw Sheena's car approaching, red cadillac. For your information she's one of the hottest girl in school, but she's not mean unlike the other's. She got ginger curl hair too, long skinny legged and white skin.
"Hey M, hop in girl" she greeted
"I've missed you so much gorgeous" she hugged me tightly
"We met yesterday i remember" i snorted
"Dont you miss meeee?" she pouted and start poking me like a child
"Fine. I missed the most gorgeous ape in the planet" I hugged her tight.
"What!? I'm not an ape"
"Scientifically, we came from those primate" I told her seriously
"Whatever, I'll go with the most gorgeous" she responded as he drive her car
"Hahah..So he's back?"
"Yes and he called me dumb, he's a devil M i swear"
" He's your brother"
"Unlucky me babe" he snorted..
She drive to the next town in Indiana where our favorite cafe is located, "La Palacio" we accidentally found it back on 8th grade. We ordered an ice milk tea good for the summer heat and sat on our spot..
"So spilled it out girl" she started "What happened?"
"We almost kissed"
Like what i've told you i tell her everything, there are no secrecy between us.
"You maniac, as far as i remember you've only met that guys 7 times and your convo just last what..15 minutes give or take..Hahaha unbelievable "
"For 8 years" i cried
"Oh yeah, that i remember"
"I don't know it felt so real, like I was shifted to another realm"i explain
"Don't let yourself lured in some reoccuring dream," she sip on her milktea and look outside the window. "Our last year together is approching fast, what's your plan M?"
"I don't know…I never think of that" cupping my face
"I'm getting old, and I dont like it, Arghhh.." Sheena mumbled..
"Get use to it my friend ha ha" i replied trashly
"M! I don't like wrinkles on my face nor stretch mark on my sexy curvy stomach. Kyle wont like it either"
There she goes day dreaming again..Kyle Stevenson is our football csptain, although Sheena got the beauty she's not confident enough to confess her love through Kyle.

Sheena brought me home at 6 p.m, I told her that my dad is waiting me for dinner. Disappointment cradle on Sheena's face, she wanted to try bar hopping since we're now on legal age but sadly i'm not available at the moment..
"Hey promise me! You and I, BAR, 8 p.m TOMMOROW!" she said. " And there's something i want you to have"
She took something on the back of her car..
"I told you, i don't need gifts Shee"
"Ei, you're my bestfriend, I cannot help it M.. This will surprise you a lot.. Okay hop out now, you're dad is waiting … " she grinned and there she goes, laughing with vengeance as she started the car's engine leaving me curious of what her gift was. It is a hard box wrapped on a pink cloth tied with a dark pink ribbon..
Walking towards the house I saw my glaring at me with curiousity too, he's standing on the front door, wearing he's best outfit, he always wear it on important days of our lives.. He told me that mom gave it to him. It's a plain grayish long sleeve embroided with the initials of mom..
"You're late young lady " he told me..
"I know dad, It's just were caught in a good bookstore downtown, Eeer i'm sorry" I apologize "Are we heading somewhere?"
"I told you we'll going to celebrate your birthday, so why don't you hurry up and change your clothes immediately..And be in formal please"
"Okay dad, give me 5 minutes" I rushed toward the house and enter my room..
"Ghaaad, I have nothing to wear" I scan my cabinet but it's just T-shirts and jeans...
I scanned my room thinking maybe I have save some of my dress, but i remember i've donated them on the charity last month..
"Argggg what i'm going to wear now"
My eyes suddenly landed on Sheena's gift hoping it has something i could use. I took it and unwrapped the box, astonishingly the box revesl something I was praying for..
"You really have my back Shee, you're an angel"
It was a dress, a beautiful darkish nude color dress..It's a little bit reaveling but who cares i have no option and I'm late..Along with the dress is a white sandals with glitters and beads on the lace..
I took my phone and closed my room's door with the thought of dad's irritated face..The sandals make it hard for me to walk down the stairs..
"Dad, I'm ready" I shouted but there's no reply
"Dad!?" I shouted again but no sign of him
I walk about the living room to search for him but
something took me by surprise…
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARGARETTE!!" every person in the living room shouted followed by the popping out of confettees and balloons..

They hardly all sang, I saw my dad walking to where I am standing with a large "not baked" cake he probably buy from the cake shop..
"Make a wish honey.."
I close my eyes and wish what my heart trully desire. Tears filled my eyes because of hapiness that i feel.
I blow the candle infront of me..
"Thank's dad, wow i never expected for this" i hugged him tightly.
"Happy birthday Margarette" he kissed my forehead..
"I told you no party, did I?
"Not for today, your mom will goin to entombed me alive in my dreams if i don't throw a party" he chuckled "I love you honey and mom loves you"
" I love you too dad and so mom"
I parted from his embrace and glance around the living room. Sheena is standing beside Uriel which surprised me, i gave her the "what" look and she winked at me. Some of our family friends were there, Mr. Flick and his wife and my father's co- workers.
"So you do know?" i asked Sheena with a devilish glare
"I told you, It'll surprise you..You look really good on that dress"
I smile and gave her a tight hug, to have her as my bestfriend slash sister is a gift from above.
"Happy Birthday Marge" a familiar voice said
I look at the person standing at my back, It was Uriel.
"Hey i think your father need an assistance for slicing the cake M, i'll help" Sheena grinned at me and leave
"Hi" Uriel uttered
"Hey, thanks for coming.." i replied
" Yeah, my sister told me last week that it's your birthday and he needs my help. So I took a flight back here yesterday" he smiled
"Uhm, i don't know what to say, Haha..It's funny you were together at this knowing the fact you two were like.."
"Cat and Mouse, I know " he finshed my sentence
"No, It supposed to be Tom & Jerry..but yeaah.." I joked which made him laugh
"Let just say she raise the white flag and I raise mine because of it's your birthday, by the way i've got you something too"
He handed me a small box wrapped on a purple cover. I shake it with curiousity..
"Open it" he smiled
"Is this a small bomb?" i asked
He's laughing hard, "No, it's not..I mean not today" he chuckled
I unwrapped it and open the small box, what i found is a gold bracelet sorrounded with maple leaves. My eyes grow wide knowing that it so expensive because of the label the box..
"I can't take this, I mean this is so expensive"
"Hey, don't you dare..No return policy. Take it as a gift for keeping my sister sane.." he laugh
"Thank You Uriel" I smile back

Everybody is enjoying each other company my dad open some wine and took some glass from the kitchen shelves..They were laughing around lime there's no work tomorrow..
The party lasted until 10.30, everybody bid there goodbyes and go home. I was picking up the dishes from the living room when my father saw me..
"Hey hey, let me do the dishes honey okay?, go to your room now and take a rest, It's still your birthday..."
"Are you sure dad?, I can help you..i'll change and help you wash the dishes.."
"No, honey, A big No No No…I appreciate it but.." he stopped..
"You reminded me of your mom.. she's the boss of me, she takes care of me like a child, she's kind and sweet and thoughtful just like you Margarette.." he smiled at me sweetly
" Did I tell you that your mom deliver you before the minute hand of the clock strike 12.. Did I?" my father ask
"Really!? You did'nt tell me dad" I was amazed and puzzle
"It was a stormy night honey, everyone was afraid and frightened even me…but your mom? Never, she push and push and push and puuuush until the nurse hold and pat you, and then… there you go crying so loud and clear before the clock ticks 12…I'll never forget that moment…" my dad recall
"And afterward mom dies, she gave her life just to deliver me.." It came out of my mouth
"No honey it's not your fault, it is not our fault..There are some things we cannot control in this world " my dad replied
"I'm going off to bed now dad, are you sure you'll be fine?"
"Of course,.." he nodded " Hey come here" she hugged me and wipe my tears "Your mother, she loves you so so so much" he touches my mothers necklace i am wearing "I'm so happy we have you, that your mother brought you to be my daughter."
"Thank you dad" i replied
"Go to your bed now and take a long rest, Good night honey"
" Goodnight dad"
