Emily and Mr. Jameson walk out of the hospital, Emily holding on to his arm tightly, the tears still falling down her cheeks, eyes red from her sorrow. She looks up for a moment, seeing that the entirety of the parking lot is not better than it looked when they first arrived. All cars have been fixed and replaced, and even the trees that were snapped and riddled with bullets are replaced. Emily now looks out at the forest to see if there's any sign of her brother, but to no avail. Splitter's mech is standing on the grass next to the hospital, securing the perimeter. "All clear sir. While you were gone, a Union ship appeared and beamed our solider friend up and dipped." Splitter says, still looking out at the perimeter. "Understood. You may return to base." Mr. Jameson says, unlocking his car and opening the door for Emily. She gets in, saying her thanks under her breath. He gets in to the driver seat and zooms off just after he straps in.
Mr. Jameson pulls into the driveway, unlocking the door for Emily. "I will just be dropping you off. I have a lunch date with the generals of the GFO. Kaine and Trevor are still here, and Kaine is prepared for your arrival to comfort your emotions." He says, looking a little saddened, but still having a mainly blank expression. Emily nods to this and gets out, closing the door behind her. She walks up the driveway, and while nearing the door, she hears some joyous yelling, coming from a voice she feels like she's heard before, but it's muffled enough for her to not be able to properly discern who it is. She rings the doorbell, and hears everything go quite, except for some light footsteps getting nearer to the door.
The door swings open, revealing an ecstatic Amy, who's smile drops the moment she sees Emily. "Oh, look who it is. Sorry honey, but Trevor is mine, and judging from the way Kaine was talking about you, you can take all those flowers and invite to the prom back home. Maybe daddy will dance with you!" She says, smirking on the end of that mocking sentence. Emily gets a tear in her eyes, Amy's smirk slowly fading. Emily starts to sob now, falling to her knees, the tears flowing down like a river during a flood. Amy kneels down to her level, getting a sorrowful and remorseful look in her eyes. "Wait, why are you crying. It was just a joke. Kaine has only said nice things." Amy says, now looking confused. "Her dad just died. She just came from the hospital." Trevor says, his voice dark like it was when Emily intruded earlier.
Amy looks between Trevor and Emily, each glance looking more and more regretful than the last. She immediately hugs Emily, holding her, almost lovingly. "I am so so sorry. Please forgive me. Forgive me for everything I've ever done." Amy says, almost crying herself. Emily shakes as she replies. "I never held a grudge." She says, tightening her embrace with Amy. After holding this for a moment, Emily breaks the hug, standing up and helping Amy to her feet. Trevor is still standing in the doorway, his anger slowly fading, now chuckling as he walks back into the house, disappearing around the corner. Emily and Amy walk into the house together their arms around each other's back, closing the door behind them.
