Chapter 3 - Calloused Hands

Calloused Hands

He's crazy, she's crazy, I'm crazy, we're all crazy

We are crazed on the things that seem to matter the most

They take our attention the good and the worst

What will you choose? Fact or fiction?

The red pill or the blue pill? Both or neither? Are those even options?

Can we choose bad when we choose good? Vise versa?

It's a matrix we are living in

This isn't our beginning nor our final destination

It started with love and it will end with love

Love doesn't judge, it's accepting of everyone

Evil will try and try again,

But we know in the end who'll win

Love will win

From the beginning to the end

Love looks through yet within

Love to serve yourself and your friend

Balance is key now where do we begin?

It's a very good question, I do not know where to start,

But if I think for a moment there'll be a spark

It takes one step, one after the other

Falling perfectly in order

Precision is key with a mind of clarity

Don't let the winds of the devil blow you over

Jesus is the one spotting us

Making sure we don't fall and break apart

Sometimes we try to be too hasty

We lose patience with Jesus and we go ahead with pride

We know pride precedes the fall and usually doesn't end very well

We get beaten and bruised and think we are forgotten

Jesus is our great physician

He's trained, wise, and in fact perfect

He knows what to say, he knows what to do

He'll always be the one to even carry you

Sometimes life breaks us from the very beginning

In the middle, or what we think is the ending

This life didn't begin at this balancing beam

We understood, we knew, it wouldn't be easy

It's worth it they say, it is worth it indeed

To know we are one big happy family

Deep down I say happy, that is a cliche

I'm aware of the disappointments, failure, and pain

Beyond this battleground, beyond the ropes

Jesus is the one who is cheering us on

Through the dark tunnel to something brighter

Eternal life is what we need to aim for

Beyond the grave there is something more

If you think there is no hope, the grave's the end

Just remember the one who is your true friend

A true friend wouldn't let you go through trials for nothing

Some say a friend wouldn't give you trials at all

But I think Heavenly Father wants us to learn

We wouldn't know joy without sorrow

I'm grateful for my trials

I'm grateful for my friends

I'm grateful for the ones who curse me and abuse me

That's crazy talk some may say,

But I know there's relief beyond the pain

Heavenly Father is preparing our mansions up above

It just depends on if we want them or not

If you believe death is the end

Then you will find that it is for you

Those that murder physically and emotionally

They'll have their reward

What you sow is what you'll reap

It's up to you if you will eat

Eat the bad or the good

One will see you alive or dead

Life is for those that eat the good

Some may try to steal,

But the reward began when it was sowed

For without the sowing nothing would grow

So the loyal get to it, behind the plow

It's important that they never look back

For the owner of the vineyard will be aware

Of those that sweat with calloused hands.
