Chapter 41 - A gift from the gods

Aariv followed Krishna inside the palace.

"Come, follow me to the treasury," Krishna said.

...

Soon they found themselves in front of a huge door, Aariv looked at it and noticed many runes on it.

Krishna went near it and put his palm on the door. The door made a sound like it scanned and then the runes started moving.

Soon the giant door started to open on its own.

"Damn, gods are high-tech, they've got fingerprint scanners," Juno said with amusement.

"Yes Juno, we gods are a civilized species after all. You wanna see something cooler?" Krishna said with a wide smile.

The door opened and dust flew out. It seemed like the room was not opened for a long time.

But Aariv and Juno couldn't see anything as it was pitch black in the room.

"See the magic," Krishna said as he clapped his hands.

In its reaction, many white lights lit up, shrouding the entire room in white light.

"Soo... Much... Gold" Juno said while stuttering.

Aariv's jaw dropped, he saw hills of gold coins and diamonds, the room was so big that he couldn't even see the end of it. Maybe he could straight away buy the whole world if it was possible with all this money.

He saw Krishna walking through the piles of gold like Moses crossing the red sea, the hills of gold would split up whenever he needed to pass. Aariv imagined, if Krishna had so much money then how much money does the goddess of wealth, Lakshmi has?

"You can keep all this if you want to, you know, it's of no use to me here, and I am pretty sure that it would be of no use to you, as well, when you implement the monetary reform and bring in paper money or virtual money in the future," Krishna said nonchalantly.

Aariv nodded at what he said, he was already thinking about building a big printing machine for making paper currency. Making coins was hard and managing it was also hard. You could not carry a large some in your pocket either. But he still needed gold because even if he managed to change the currency of his empire, the rest of the world would still run on gold.

"Here, take as much as you want in this pouch, it can store unlimited gold, silver, diamonds, etc," Krishan said as he threw a small money pouch made of silk at Aariv.

Aariv caught it and opened the pouch, he looked inside and saw a bottomless pit.

~I guess it's some kind of a special bag,~ Aariv thought to himself.

"Yes, it is a special bag, but it can only store money... Now, where did I put that thing?" Krishna said and walked away, looking for something.

Aariv saw that he was alone and decided to start filling the pouch.

"Juno, you remember the time I said, 'sometimes being shameless is a good thing'..." Aariv said and put the pouch on the ground with its mouth open.

"Waaaaa... I don't remember you ever saying tha..." Juno couldn't complete her sentence as her non-existent jaw fell to the floor.

Aariv had started to use his aerokinesis(wind manipulation) ability to make a small tornado, which was collecting piles of gold, diamonds and other expensive stones. once it was full it would hover over the pouch and throw everything in it.

"what the... you greedy bastard," Juno said, getting embarrassed over Aariv's actions.

"Haha... You are too naive Juno, everything is for the greater good," Aariv said with a laugh.

After 1 hour of intense looting, Aariv stopped, not because he didn't want to take more, but because he was at his limit. Using special abilities consumed his energy. He looked around and saw a kilometer wide area empty, he had collected so much gold that he was sure he wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

But what made him baffled was that the amount he took was still not comparable to the amount remaining.

"Just h...how much god damn m...money is in here?" Aariv said to himself while panting.

"Yeah, I would like to know that too," Krishan said, he had come back, holding a small golden and red treasure case in his hands.

Aariv looked at the plain face of Krishna and thought to himself. ~Are all god like this?~

"No, not all of us, some of us like to live simply," Krishna said.

"It's good to know that and stop reading my mind, man," Aariv said, as he was creeped out getting replies to his thoughts.

Krishna chuckled a little and came closer to Aariv,

"Here, this is what I was responsible for giving you" He gave the small case to Aariv.

Aariv stood up and received it. He looked at the beautiful case and carvings on it. He looked up at Krishna for permission to open it.

"Don't look at me, it's yours, do whatever you want," Krishna shrugged.

Aariv looked down at the case. He looked for a lock to open but didn't find any. all he saw was a small red gemstone embedded in the location of the lock. He touched it and surprisingly a small pin came out of that stone and pricked his finger. A small drop of blood came out and fell on the gemstone.

Aariv was surprised to see that. He knew how hard it was to cut his skin but a small pin was able to do it. Then the box opened with white smoke coming out of it. Aariv looked closely and found a locket in it. It had a small golden shield with a lion's face and a silver sword passing through it.

Aariv picketed it up and looked at Krishna for an explanation.

"Wear it around your neck and think about a sword and armor on you," Krishna said.

Aariv did as he said, he put the locket around his neck. The moment he put the locket on, he felt like a connection being established with the locket.

He then focused and thought about a sword in his hand and an armor covering his body. Suddenly a white light flashed from the locket and a sword materialized in Aariv's grasp.

He was shocked by the sudden magic. He looked at the sword, it was a long sword with a black handle, brown grip with golden threads. Its crossguard was also back but at the center it had a red gem stuck to it. There was more gold here and there.

He felt powerful, holding it, then he noticed that the sword from the locket was gone. He understood that the locket was a magical artifact.

"Hmm... that's weird, why didn't the armor come out," Krishna said, rubbing his chin.

"Maybe because I am not strong enough," Aariv said, he said that because of the connection he established with the locket made him feel like he was not strong enough to wield the armor.

"Well, that seems like a good reason. Now, let me tell you about it. All of the gods came together to make this, the material used to make the sword and armor is called God's stone, and we only had enough to make these two. We searched the universe for more God's stone but couldn't find any.

The best thing about your sword and armor is that it would grow with you and it is practically indestructible, we experimented by throwing it into a supernova and the armor ended up devouring the supernova and becoming more stronger.

We don't know the limits of its growth and that's for you to find out," Krishna explained.

Aariv was dumbfounded, he looked at the sword in his hand and imagined it devouring a fricking supernova. It took some time for him to calm his excited heart.

"So, what are you going to do now?, I presume you were waiting for me to come here so that you could give this to me?"Aariv questioned, looking at Krishna.

"Yes, and now, I will join others on the journey to the truth. I will travel the universe looking for answers, looking for the reason for our existence." Krishna said, looking up at the sky, filled with galaxies.

Aariv looked up, but instead of the ceiling, he now saw the sky.

"Well, I guess, I'll see you again someday. When I am done with everything here, I'll have to venture into the space too" Aariv said with a contemplating look.

"Yes, you are meant to surpass us all, so I am sure that it would not take that much," Krishna said smilingly and continued.

"And please be good to Juno, we all gods are indebted to her for what she did in the future," Krishna said with a sad look.

For the first time since he came here, Aariv saw something other than a smile on Krishna's face.

"Haha, don't worry, I was already planning on getting this little kid a body when she grew up and to be honest you should be telling her to be good with me," Aariv said, irking Juno.

"You...hmph... jerk," Juno replied with tantrums.

"Hahaha... You two are a good couple," Krishna said warmly.

Juno rushedly replied mockingly, "Who in their right mind would like this overpowered monkey"

"But I love you, Juno," Aariv said, intentionally playing with her.

"Yuck... I think I am gonna puke... uwaaaa" She started making sounds of puking.
