Belle's POV
As soon as I plopped on the couch, the doorbell ringed.
"Come in, mom! The door's open!" I shouted from the couch.
"Too tired to get up, huh? What if it was some thief?" Mom smirked as she sat beside me.
"Well, he wouldn't find anything to steal, so, it would be a waste of time for him" I replied with a smirk, only to get a slap on my head.
I was about to doze off when the door bell annoyed me yet again. Mom attended the person at the door and returned with a huge package in hand. The label on the package was enough to bring a huge grin on my face.
"Finally! My computer!" I exclaimed as I hurriedly opened the package and arranged it in my room.
As expected, there was hell a lot of messages from Ted. Ted was my pen pal from an app where strangers text one another anonymously. Unfortunately, the app is not for mobile phones, so I was not in touch with Ted as my computer got repaired a month ago.
There were about a hundred messages from him. It was pretty obvious he was mad at me. I started writing my essay on the topic 'Why was I not replying to his messages' with, of course, a lot of sorry(s).
"So sorry, Ted! My computer broke down a month ago and I gave it for repair. It just arrived. I am really sooooorrrryyyy! Forgive me just this once...pretty please? I promise to borrow a computer to message you, next time something like this happens, ok? Sorry!"
"I'm not gonna forgive you that easily..."
"Come on, I gave a perfectly valid explanation"
"Nope, you aren't getting away with it that easily...hmm, lemme think, what would be the best punishment for this crime?"
"Crime? Really? How lame..."
"What about sending replies to all the messages I sent for a month, by tomorrow morning?"
"What?!? Dude, that's like a hundred messages! You can't be serious!"
"I am seriously serious :)... Now get down to business; Time is ticking... Make some good 'midnight memories'! "
"Perfect time to quote 1D, ain't it? Jerk...Well, what if I don't?"
"You won't get any message from me, say, for a month or two?"
"Nah, I don't care"
"Yeah? We'll decide that in the morning. You brought this on yourself, my dear...Gooooood night, Tess!"
"You'll regret this"
"Whatever, pig nose"
"STOP CALLING ME THAT!"
"Calling you, what? Labrador?"
"Ugh, just go and sleep, douche bag"
"Lol, its fun to piss you off...don't forget your homework!"
Ted and I have been writing to each other for a few months now and have already become pretty close. Funny thing is, we don't even know our real names or any personal detail about each other; where he lives, how he looks, nothing. It was a mutual decision to remain anonymous. I have never asked for his personal details and never has he asked mine. I do like this anonymity but to be honest, there's a small part of me that wants to know about him.
Ted was his fake name and Tess was mine. Basically, we were each other's living secret diary with a lot of really terrible jokes (believe me; mine are way better than his jokes).
I started reading all of his messages from the past month. As expected, more than half of it was asking what happened, why I wasn't replying and so on. Others were the general stress issues he had and some really bad jokes (that is always a must for him). I did end up replying to all his texts (I mean, I do care, obviously).

Next morning, my alarm ruined the ending of my happy dream (why does that always happen to me?!) and being too lazy to get up, I tried reaching for my phone to shut the stupid alarm, only for it to crash on the floor. I got up by reflex to check for any broken bones of my phone. Luckily, it survived but my sleep didn't. I groaned and did my morning routine, half asleep all the time. I barely got to sleep after replying all of those messages. I can't believe I stayed up all night for that. I checked for any messages from Ted.
"Good job! You are a really obedient Labrador!"
"Why the hell did I even reply to such an arse...kill me right now, god"
"Let me give you a reward....it's time for...*drum rolls*...JOKES!"
"Annnnd...that's my cue to leave! Bubye!"
I chuckled and shut my computer to get ready for school. Just as I was dressing, I got a call from Sam.
"Pick you at 9?"
"Yep"
"See ya"
He hung up and I went downstairs for breakfast. There was a note on the fridge.
Got some urgent work, Belle
Had to head out early
Have some fruits and a glass of milk for breakfast
Don't you dare leave with a empty tummy
Love,
Mom
I smiled at the note and started munching an apple. I gulped a glass of milk just as I heard a honk outside. I picked up my bag and phone and headed out. Sam waited out in his car in my driveway. He waved and hand-gestured me to get inside the car.
