Shin spent quite a lot of time looking for the Sea Gems. He first thought that it would be hard looking for them in such a huge place, but he realized that he was wrong as such things were easy to spot given that they were constantly releasing a brilliant light that could be spotted from afar.
He did not know how many Sea Gems were out there, but he was sure that they were limited given that this round was also to eliminate as many participants as possible.
He had found a couple of gems along the way, which was unexpectedly easy. He did encounter other participants fighting for the gems, but they immediately forgot that they were competitors when they saw Shin appear.
They worked together in an attempt to take down Shin, who was a 'common' enemy. Unfortunately, they were beaten so badly that they could barely fight back.
