The ground trembles with the force of multiple footsteps and the branches rattle by something hopping around it. All of it was rushing towards the platoon. Followed by numerous kid-like laughter, expected that the tone was much more sinister and evil than a kid.
Because Xiao has already ready himself for the worst beforehand, he could ready himself into a combat mode than the other who was still panicking.
Xiao quickly pulls out his sword and activates his Gamer Eyes to apprehend the upcoming threat. At the same time, also give order to Owen, who was beside him.
"Pull your sword and brace yourself, we're in a do or die situation now!"
Though Owen was still shaking out of anxious, he restrained himself from fearing to act and pull out his sword.
The moment Owen pull out his sword, something jump down from one of the tree branches and landed in front of Xiao. The green creature immediately got analyze by Xiao's Gamer Eyes.

"Exactly what I thought a goblin would look like," Xiao said it in half excited, half anxious tone. He was excited because the Goblin looks precisely the same as the Goblin he fought in his RPG game, small, ugly and weak. And he was anxious because he is about to use a real weapon to fight a real Goblin.
The Goblin wore a loincloth and a weary leather armour, his right hand was armed with a wooden club.
The Goblin lets out a battle cry as he charges towards Owen, jumping in midway and was about to land a strike on Owen's head. Owen was slow in a step as he was still paralyzed by the actual combat un such sudden.
Xiao managed to slice through the Goblin's belly just before it hit Owen, killing it instantly.
Before Xiao would celebrate a small victory and give Owen a shouting, more and more Goblin rushes in the area. Almost an instance, both of them got surround with these little Greenish creatures.
Xiao and Owen were focused on breaking through the dire situation. They didn't realize that people in the platoon were already dying left and right around them.
Some of the soldiers got backstab by two Goblin jumping down from the branches.
Some swing their sword blindly to keep the Goblin away, before getting tons of arrowing to death.
Some manage to kill one, but they underestimate a Goblin's tenacity. It delivers a stab to the leg just before it died, resulting in the soldier falling to the ground and other Goblin rushing in for the kill.
Private Tom killed most of the Goblin than the rest of the soldier. Still, his body was already covered with multiple injuries, he slowly loses strength as blood gush out from his injuries. And finally, after a few more cuts he received from the Goblin as he was smashing another Goblin, his strength gives up and he fell to the ground. A group of Goblin waste no time to jump onto his back and deliver a flurry of merciless stabs, killing him in the process.
Scream of agony and the stained blood filled the place. It was like a scene from any B-class horror film, where adult running with fear on their faces. They got cut down by something with the sound of alike to a kid, laughing crazily and jump to the next target.
Private Jake was already dead the moment the attack of the Goblin started. He got caught by a rope on his neck, which pulls him into a bush. His screams can be heard at first, but then it turns to silence, followed by the sound of children laughing maniacally, only God knows what happens in the bush.
The horde of Goblin waste no effort to cut down all the 37th Platoon soldier, and finally, only Xiao and Owen left standing.
Xiao has been cutting down wave and wave of Goblin. His hand started to feel numb, and his eyes began to feel the side effect of activating his Gamer Eyes for too long.
Owen has already recovered from his paralyze and manages to fight alongside with Xiao. Under Xiao commend, they still haven't received any injuries yet.

Xiao shouted while he parries a low blow strike and counters it with a front kick.
"Don't worry, I can still fight!" Owen replied while he uses his sword to pierces through a Goblin mouth, killing another Goblin at its back.
"Fight my ass! Another wave comes, we will be done for sure, time to bail!"
Xiao had already looking for a route to escape as he made the suggestion.
"Run?! But the Lieutenant order..."
Owen was shocked by Xiao's suggestion. He tried to remind Xiao about the warning, but he got shot down by Xiao immediately.
"Look around you, dammit! We're the only one left, who cares about that bastard order any more. If you want to live, follow tight, I'm cutting us a path."
Xiao did not wait for Owen response, he uses his Gamer Eyes to search out the thinnest enemy line.
"There! Let's go!"
Xiao rushes towards a direction. While Owen still hasn't resolved to run away yet, his leg was already running subconsciously as he follows Xiao's back tightly.
Both of them lets out a battle cry as they cut down the enemy in front of them. Though more and more dangerous attacks were getting in their way, they managed to avoid it, cut through it and counter it. And finally, they see an open space bestowing in front of them.
"RUN!"
Xiao shouted with hope as they worked their leg to full speed and made a dash of their lives.
At this moment, two wild arrows were flying towards them. Xiao was too focused on dashing away that he stopped giving attention on what was behind him, resulting in his Gamer Eyes not catching the upcoming attack.
And it resulted in Owen receiving both the arrow as he was running behind Xiao.
A cry of agony lets out by Owen and Xiao quickly look back, his expression turns from hopeful to utter despair as he shouted:
